Almost Unbreakable
The Better Half Of My Heart
Daisy pulled out of my grasp, and leaned into kiss my cheek. Feeling her lips on my skin, was enough to make me want to crash my lips against her's right then. She smiled at me, and I smiled back. Her hand trailed up to my hair, and she ran her fingers through it.
"What happened to your crazy long rockstar hair?" She asked, referring to my new shorter haircut.
"I cut it." I said smirking. I wanted to fold her back into my arms so bad.
"I see that, you smartass." She rolled her eyes.
"Eh, I don't know I just needed a change." I shrugged.
"I like it a lot." She smiled, again, and then sighed, "I have to get back inside. First day on the job."
I nodded, "Okay. First put your number in my phone, I'm not losing you this time." She giggled, and grabbed my phone out of my hand. A few seconds later, she handed it back. "Thanks."
"No problem." She said, biting her lip. She turned her head to the side, and I saw the tip of a tattoo coming out of her V-neck shirt.
"What's your tattoo?" I asked, stalling time. She pulled her shirt down slightly to reveal lyrics from a song.
'We were young, we were in our teens, it wasn't real love spent behind bars, oh it's sad to think, we just let it be prisoners in love.'
I recognizedthesong as Crash by You Me At Six. It was a beautiful tattoo, with tiny crows flying around the lyrics.
"You Me At Six? I thought you didn't do new bands..." I smirked at her. I remeber one time I tried to get her to listen to some of my favorite newer bands, and she refused.
"Oh shutup! I like some new bands, like You Me At Six, Mayday Parade, A Day To Remember.." She laughed.
"Oh I see.." I chuckled.
"Okay, well I really have to get back inside." She leaned into hug me once more. I squeezed her tight, and buried my face in the crook of her neck. I felt her sigh, and she placed her lips to my neck.
"I love you." I said, as she stood up.
"I love you too." She smiled, brightly at me. I couldn't help but feel complete, whole, again. With one last look she entered the building. I walked over to my car, and got in.
I plugged my phone in to the auxiliary chord, and was going to play an Alkaline Trio song but I wanted to hear Crash.
I didn't own the song, so I looked it up on YouTube. The lyrics were beautiful, and I completely understood why she got the them on her.
They completely made sense to me. The song seemed like it was written for our situation.
And I know opposites attract, you try to run away but end up running back.
Notes
:)
Is it bad that I cried? I can't believe that it's over. This was such an amazing story.
