Almost Unbreakable

Big Step

Andy and I walked into the doctor's office hand in hand. It was my first check up on the road and I was worried since it wasn't my original doctor.

We'd been touring for about a month now and I was really enjoying the road but this appointment had been making nervous. We were supposed to find out the sex.

Andy and I had been fighting about this. I wasn't sure I wanted to know the gender but he did. I wanted to keep him happy but I was still scared about this baby. Really scared.

"Hi, checking in?" The secretary asked us.

"Mhm it's the Biersack's." Andy said and I smiled.

"Okay, you two can go on back. They've been expecting you. Third door on the right." She said, gesturing towards the back.

"Thank you." I said, taking Andy's arm out of nervousness. We walked back to the room, and I sat down on the cot, while Andy sat in the chair next to me and took my hand. I squeezed it tight.

"Scared?" He asked.

"Yeah." I mumbled, resting my hand on my stomach.

"It'll be alright." He said, putting his other hand on top of mine.

"I know." I sighed. A lady with gray hair and wrinkled skin walked in, a small smile on her face.

"Daisy and Andy Biersack?" She asked, we nodded. "I'm Dr. Clay. Dr. Samson mailed me your charts so I have them all here. Just let me know who your next doctor will be and I'll do the same. For now, let's check on this baby."

"Alright." Andy smiled. Dr. Clay walked over to me and set up the ultrasound stuff. Andy tightly held onto my hand the whole time. He had a glimmer in his eyes that made me feel on like I was on cloud nine. He seemed so happy.

I wish I was as happy as him.

"Today is the gender day, correct?" She asked.

"Mhm." I nodded.

"And you wanted to know?" I looked over at Andy who had a pleading look in his eyes.

"Yes." I sighed.

"Okay, lift up your shirt." I did as she asked and pretty soon I felt a cool substance on my stomach. I looked over at the screen to see a small picture. Tears pricked to Andy's eyes.

"That's our baby." He said, squeezing my hand.

"I know." I shook my head, not knowing what to say. She moved the ultrasound down and smiled.

"Your sure you want to know?" She asked.

"Yes." Andy and I said together. I laughed at him.

"It's a boy." She grinned.

"Oh my god." Andy said, dropping his head on my shoulder. I laughed, breathily and tangled my fingers in his hair. He was crying and so was I. "Carthan..."

"Carthan." I repeated.

"That's a wonderful name." Dr. Clay said. We smiled at her. "Everything else seems to look Mr. and Mrs. Biersack. I'm so happy to have been able to share this with you."

"Thank you so much." I smiled as she wiped off my stomach. I pulled my shirt down and stood up. Andy wrapped his arm around my waist and we walked out of the room.

We walked out to the tour bus ironically parked in the lot, and hopped on. The guys all looked at us expectantly. Even John. I glanced up at Andy to see him smiling down at me.

We held up our entwined hands, "It's a boy!"

Notes
