“So what is the deal with your family?” Maxy asks as I pull out of the parking lot.

“I honestly have no fucking idea. I have always been this perfect little preppy angel that got everything I wanted. I guess my mom hates the fact that I have changed. She would normally be okay with it but she has been acting different since her and my dad split.”

“I mean I can understand she may be sensitive or whatever but that still doesn’t give her a valid reason to treat you like this.”

“I know. My mom and I have our fights like every mom and daughter do, but she was basically my best friend in LA. My dad and I were really close too. I guess it was just hard for her to see me unhappy to leave. I just wish she could accept and understand me for who I am.”

“You must really miss your dad, huh?”

“I really do. I haven’t talked to him since we got here. I don’t know the next time I will see him.”

“I’m sorry Charlotte.”

I shrug and say, “ I guess it’s fine. I just hope my mom can stop being such a bitch.”

“Whatever Char,” Maxy says thoughtfully, “ This is who you are now and if your mom can’t accept that then she is insane.”

I smile weakly and say,” well, at least you have you and Brett, and Andy.”

“Yes! You will always have all of us! We love you so much and will be there any time you need anything, weather its two in the morning or eight at night. We are all just a call away. And if any unlucky son of a bitch picks on you they’re dead meat.”

I smile big at her and say, “ Thank you so much Maxy. I ma so glad to have you guys, cause without you I would be that weird new kid that nobody likes. Forget my mom.”

“Thats the spirit girl! Now, tell me about you and Andy!”

“Okay so, the whole time we were together, we held hands and flirted.”

“Uh huh,” Maxy says interested, “ What else, keep going!!”

“We had finished shopping and I told him I needed to run home to check in with my family.”

“He didn’t meet your mom, did he?!”
“I’m getting there! So we left the mall and I warned him about my family and he just said he wanted me to be happy.”

‘Well isn’t that sweet! So how was the car ride?”

“It was absolutely perfect Maxy. I made him change his clothes into the preppy ones I bought him. I totally enjoyed that, and he noticed and we laughed.”

“I’m sorry but that’s so gross! I have known him since I was 3! He is basically my older brother that I never had. Anyways, what happened with your mom?”

“Well, we got to my house and I introduced him. My mom was skeptical because of his piercings and of course his tattoo. We went up to my room to grab some more clothes to pack. I finished and we decided to change into our clothes for the concert.”

“In front of each other!?” Maxy smirks.

“Yes, at first he didn’t look, but then I caught him peeking.”

“Gosh you two,” she says laughing,” what did your mom say when she saw your new clothes?”

“She totally freaked out, but not in front of Andy. She made him go out to the car and the second he stepped out of the door, she screamed at me.”

“No offense, but your mom is a bitch.”

“ Tell me abouth it. God, if one little thing doesn’t go as planned, she has a panic attack,” I sigh and frown.

“Okay Char,” Maxy says smiling and putting her hand on my shoulder,” let’s not talk about this, I don’t want you to be upset before the concert.”

“Thanks girl,” I say as we pull into the driveway.

We get out and go inside. We go upstairs and put our stuff down.

Maxy says, “ I’m gonna shower really fast. You can use my makeup or curler or whatever if you need it.”

“Okay Maxy,” I say nodding, “ what time is the concert again?”

“The concert doesn’t start till eight but we are going to go out to dinner first, so we need to leave by six at the latest.”

“Okay then. Go ahead and shower. I’ll be right here getting ready. Can I listen to some of Andy’s songs? I wanna learn them.”

“Aw, you are so cute,” Maxy laughs,” they have a bunch of demos. I have them all on my iPod. just plug it in to the dock.”

“Thanks Maxy!”

She smiles and goes into the bathroom. I check my phone to see a text from Andy saying that he can’t wait to see his beautiful girlfriend tonight.

I smile at the phone and say that I can’t wait to see my perfect boyfriend either.

I plug Maxy’s iPod in and turn the volume up loud. I sit in front of the mirror and listen to some of the greatest songs I have ever heard.
