The Ladies Man

I was making some spaghetti for dinner when I heard the door open. I looked up to see Madison standing there with her bags at her feet. “Hey Belle! So, how was a weekend without me?”
I laughed. “Only somewhat interesting.”
“Ooo! What did I miss?” She sat at the table and looked at me expectantly.
I rolled my eyes as I served up two plates and sat down across from her. “I met Ashley again.”
“Really?” She asked. “Please tell me something happened this time.”
“Well yes and no.” I answered.
“How can it be yes and no? Did you have sex or not?”
“Not.” I said. “He showed up at the apartment on Friday and took me out for a drink.”
“And there was no expectation of sex?”
“Nope. We just talked. He asked me questions about myself and I answered them.” I explained. “Then he just walked me home again.”
“Seriously? That sounds a lot like a date.”
“It couldn’t have been.” I said.
“And why not?” She asked. “That’s what people do on a first date. They talk and in most cases don’t have sex afterwards.”
“But he’s Ashley Purdy! He doesn’t do dates!”
“Apparently he does now.” She smirked.
“Aw Hell!” I complained.

Ashley’s POV:

I entered Andy’s house and flopped down onto the couch between CC and Jake. I couldn’t stop smiling, all I could think about was Belle.
“Ash, what’s with the Cheshire grin?” Andy asked.
“Let me guess, you got some last night.” CC said.
“Nope.”
“Nope? You’re this happy and you didn’t get laid?” Jake asked.
“That’s right.” I answered.
“Did you win the lottery or something?” JInxx asked,
“Nope.”
“Well what then?” Andy asked.
“I had a drink with a girl. Her name’s Belle.” I said happily.
“You had a drink with a girl and she didn’t sleep with you?” CC asked.
“Remember the girl I told you about? The one who turned me down a couple of weeks ago.”
“Right, she just walked out on you.”
“Well I saw her again last week and she let me walk her home.”
“You walked her home? This is straight out of a fifties movie.” Jake said.
“Anyway, that’s Belle. She let me buy her a drink last night and then I walked her home again.” I said.
“So you’ve seen this chick three times and you still haven’t slept with her?” Jinxx asked.
“Exactly.” I said.
“Have you slept with any other women in the last two weeks?” CC asked.
“One, but it felt wrong.” I said, remembering that terrible feeling I had afterwards.
“How could it feel wrong?” Jinxx asked.
“I don’t know. The sex was good, but after… After, I felt empty, like I had a hole in me or something.”
“Guys, it’s happened.” Andy said.
“What? What’s happened?” I asked. I was very confused about this and they weren’t being very helpful.
“You want a relationship. You want to actually know the girl you’re sleeping with.” Andy explained.
“Yeah, not just meaningless sex.” Jinxx added.
“Oh.” I said. That would be a change.
“Tell us about this girl.” Andy said.
“Yeah, what’s she like?” Jake asked.
“Well, she’s beautiful, smart, likes older things, like movies and music. She’s also a graphic designer and she-“ I stopped for a moment, thinking the idea over. It was a good one, but what would the guys say? And would she even accept?
“She what?” CC asked.
“She just quit her job yesterday, some guy was making working there hell for her. Guys, could we hire her? Ask her to design stuff for us?”
Andy shrugged his shoulders. “Sure, I don’t see why not.”
The other guys nodded in agreement. “Yeah, it would be cool to meet her.” Jinxx said.
“Personally I can’t wait to meet her.” Andy said. “The girl who turned Ashley Purdy down. This is gonna be good.”
