The Ladies Man

Girl Talk

We had just arrived at Andy’s house. The guys were hanging out today and I decided to tag along. Although that may have had more to do with the fact that I knew Juliet and Sammi would also be here. I hadn’t met Sammi yet and I was really looking forward to it.
“Hey Belle!” Andy said.
“Hey Andy.” I gave him a hug. I loved hugging Andy; he was like a giant teddy bear.
“Where’s my hug?” Ashley asked from behind me.
“Depends, who did you want a hug from?” Andy asked, smiling down at me.
“Belle. Why do you get hugs?”
“Ashley, you get lots of attention at home. Besides, Andy is my teddy bear.” I said.
“I’m your what?” Andy asked.
I shrugged. “My teddy bear who just so happens to be Batman.”
He laughed. “Well in that case, I’m cool with it.” Andy said.
“Where are the rest of the guys?” Ashley asked.
“In the living room. CC pulled out my PlayStation.”
“Awesome! I’ll go see what they’re playing.” Ashley walked off, leaving me at the front of the house with Andy.
Andy chuckled. “The girls are hanging out in the den in the basement.”
“Thanks Andy.” I thought for a moment. “Where is that exactly?” I had only been to Andy’s place so many times, and had never been anywhere that wasn’t the studio or the living room.
“Come on, I’ll show you.” He started walking further into the house and stopped just before the entrance to the kitchen. He opened a door to reveal a set of stairs. “They’re down there.”
“Okay, thanks.” I said.
“No problem.” He left, leaving me to head down to find the girls.
At the bottom of the stairs I noticed there were three rooms. One looked like it was probably a bathroom; another had the door open and had a bed and closet inside. I guessed that it was probably used as a spare bedroom. Through the last doorway I found Juliet and Sammi. There were couches, a giant TV, a stereo and a foose ball table.
“Hey Belle, come meet Sammi.” Juliet said, waving me over.
I walked over and joined them on one of the couches. “Hey Sammi, it’s nice to finally meet you.”
“Same here.” She said.
“So what should we do while the boys are being boys?” Juliet asked.
“Why don’t we learn a bit more about Belle and Ashley?” Sammi suggested.
“Really?” I asked.
“Yeah, I want to hear how it’s going.” Juliet said. “Last time we talked, the two of you were in a fight.”
“What happened?” Sammi had a concerned look on her face. That was touching. I barely knew her and she was sympathizing with my problems.
“Well, it was probably the most expected fight we could have had. Ashley kissed another girl while the guys were on tour.” I said. “Actually, I should amend that. A girl kissed him.”
“There’s a difference?” Juliet asked.
“Yeah, he was drunk and she threw herself at him. I was really upset and pissed off at first. After some thought though, I’ve come to the realization that she was taking advantage of the fact that he didn’t have good judgment.”
“That’s very mature of you.” Sammi said.
“I know, but it was either find a better way to look at it, or stay mad forever.” I said.
They both nodded.
“It also helped that he sang me Rebel Love Song at the last concert and told me that he loved me.” I blushed.
“The guys told us about that.” Juliet said. “And you told him you loved him back.”
“Yeah, I did.” I said. “Despite what he did, I love him.” I smiled at the memory.
“So things are better now?” Sammi asked.
“Yeah, I just moved into his place a few days ago.”
They both stared at me in awe. I waited a moment, but they just kept staring.
“What? What is it?” I asked, a little worried.
“He must really love you.” Juliet said. “He’s been in a couple of relationships before, neither of which ended well. And in both cases, he always kept his distance.”
“Oh.” What Madison said about marriage floated into my mind for a moment. If this was really serious for him, then maybe, just maybe.
“So, now that we’re up to date on you and Ashley, maybe we should watch a movie or something.” Sammi said.
“Sounds good to me.” Juliet said. “Romantic comedy?”
“Sure. Have you guys ever heard of a movie called Sabrina?”
“I think so, didn’t it have Harrison Ford in it or something?” Sammi asked.
“That’s the remake, I’m talking about the original from the 50s.” I said.
“Who’s in it?”
“Humphrey Bogart and Audrey Hepburn.”
“Okay, where are you going to get it?” Sammi asked.
“From upstairs, I know Andy likes some older movies and that there’s a stash hidden up there.” I said.
“Okay, but why would he have a romantic comedy?” Sammi asked.
“Because he likes Humphrey Bogart and has a box set of his films up there.” I made my way upstairs and into the living room. The guys were playing Grand Theft Auto. They looked up at my entrance.
“Having a good time with the girls?” Ashley asked.
“Yup.” I made my way to the back of the room where the bookcases were. I bent down and opened one of the cabinets at the bottom. I noticed Andy looking at me wearily. He didn’t want the other guys to see some of the movies he had in there. I decided to help him out. “Jake?”
“Yeah?”
“Your car’s on fire.” I said bluntly.
All the guys looked back to the screen. Jake had crashed the car and it was on fire, with smoke coming from the engine. “Damn!” Jake said.
“My turn to drive.” Ashley said, taking the controller away from Jake.
I found Sabrina and got up to leave the room. As I was leaving Andy mouthed, “Thank you.”
I mouthed back, “You’re welcome.” I got back down to the basement to see Juliet and Sammi waiting with a bowl of popcorn.
“We went to the kitchen while we waited.” Juliet explained.
“Ahh, good idea.”
“What were the boys doing?” Sammi asked.
“Playing Grand Theft Auto and crashing cars.” I shrugged as I sat down. I handed Sammi the movie and she put it in.
The movie started and we all settled in to enjoy it. I always loved the back and forth between the two brothers. I always wanted Humphrey Bogart’s character to win, but the back and forth was what made the ending that much better.

“How was your afternoon?” Ashley asked when we got home.
“Good, it was fun. It’s nice to have more than just one girl friend.” I said.
“That’s good.” He said. “How about some dinner?”
I looked at the clock. It read 8:00pm. “Sure, why don’t I order take out? It’s too late to cook anything and I’m starving.”
Ashley chuckled. “No it’s not. Besides, this is why I usually make too much of a meal. We can reheat something. How about the halibut and potato wedges I made a couple nights ago?”
I laughed. “Okay, but hurry up.”
“Will do.” He headed into the kitchen.
Healthy eating habits, this is one of the things that Ashley does that’s a good influence on me. I made my way to the kitchen and grabbed some plates and cutlery. Pretty soon dinner was on the table and I wasn’t starving anymore. After we cleaned up I decided to head up to bed. I was tired and wanted to get a good night sleep.
“Good night Ashley.”
“Heading to bed already?” He asked.
“Yup, I’m asleep on my feet.” I replied.
“Well, I’ll be up for a while.” He said.
“Okay.” I went up to our room and after quickly changing into pajamas, crawled into bed.
