Can't Escape my Fate

Lynx POV

As I regained consciousness, I could hear people talking around me. Deciding to let them continue their conversations I just laid there, pretending to still be asleep.

“Guys, I’m telling you that is Lynx. She confirmed it when Kotta and I stumbled upon her at the building you wanted us to check out.”

“How can you be sure CC? It could be one of F.E.A.R’s tricks.”

“Andy listen to me, I promise you that’s Lynx. Who else has the ability to control electricity?”
“What about the child then?”

“It’s obvious that the child is hers, which probably means that Jinxx is the father.” Getting sick of being talked about as if I wasn’t even there I sat up rubbing my eyes, startling the four men in the room. “Lynx, it’s nice to see you awake. Do you even know how long you’ve been out for?” I looked up at the guy who spoke to me, he was tall, had shoulder length black hair and deep brown eyes.

“Judging by how almost amused you are Ash, I’d guess a day maybe two.” The moment I responded, CC, Ash and another guy all but crushed me in the group hug.

“You really are Lynnette then?”

I looked up at the man at the foot of the bed, “Yes I am Lynnette daughter of F.E.A.R, or at least that’s what he kept saying. I don’t see any similarity between us however and have thought that lately he’s been working on a plan that would essentially obliterate the world as we know it.”

The man smiled and nodded, “So is it that you can’t remember anything or is it just selective?”

“I don’t really know. CC and Kotta filled me in earlier but I don’t feel like I’ve lived through most of that. Let’s put it this way, I know you all I just don’t know anything about you.” I sighed and looked up at CC, “Who are those two by the way?”

“Andy is the one standing at the foot of the bed. He’s pretty much the leader of the Legion; the commoners call him ‘prophet’ which I guess makes sense since he is the leader. And the depressing guy who hugged you is Jake. He brings the souls of the dead to the underworld.”

“Right, you head the second unit. I remember having that conversation with you guys.”

Ash scruffed my hair, “It’s so cute how you remember the simple stuff.” I batted at his hand and glared at him moments before CC and Jake copied him. Getting a bit annoyed I shocked both of them and glared at them.

“Enough, don’t do that guys. I’ll electrocute you all if you keep that shit up.”

“Aww, we pissed off the kitten.” Ash smiled and pulled me into a hug, “We really missed you, you know.”

“I’m beginning to understand that Ash.” I hugged back and sighed. “Where’s Myst?”

“She’s following Kotta around. Believe me she’s not happy about that at all. She wanted to stay in here with you but, somehow we convinced her to stay with Kotta.” CC answered without hesitation.

“Good, she shouldn’t get into too much trouble with Kotta.”

“You say that like you don’t really believe it.”

I smirked at Andy, “Have you met me? That girl is practically identical to me in personality. She can cause trouble no matter what she’s doing to where she goes.” I sighed and looked out the window just across the room, “Since you all know I’m still living, can I have time alone? I feel like I need to process everything that’s happened so far.” Nodding, one by one they left the room leaving me alone to my thoughts.

Okay, I know I promised a new chapter days ago I honestly haven't had time. I realized that I posted this chapter on the other account I was using before I went dark. But it wasn't on here so here it is for those who haven't read it before here it is. I also have the next one just about done, and that will be up tonight as well. As for the rest, they'll be up as they're finished. I can't promise a set schedule due to work.
