Several Hours Later.
Emerald eyes fluttered open, a new-found sparkle seeming to gleam within them. A deep sleep long passed due, had consumed the golden-haired girl. The thing that had awoken her was a gentle touch upon her shoulder. A gesture she wasn't used to, having always been roughly man-handled by everyone in reach of her. Naturally, she flinched at the unexpected contact. Thinking that whoever touched her shoulder had intentions of harming her. Turning her head, she came face to face with an overly-peppy, brunette flight attendant. Whose soft grin made her feel somewhat uneasy, "The plane had landed, miss."
Realization hit her as she glanced around, only to find that the woman was right. Not a single soul still sat in the seats of the plane. The twenty year-old gave a weak half-smile along with a nod, rising to her feet and exiting the row of seats. "Would you like me to help you with your bags, miss?" the chestnut-haired lady asked. The mute girl just shook her head, flashing one last weak smile before exiting the plane, Shivering at the cold morning air. The time she had left the City of Sin was around ten o'clock. Now that she was free, there was only a few problems she'd face. Money, clothes, and a roof over her head. Walking through the doors of the airport, she was a tad surprised to see that it was a while away from the city.
She heavily sighed and shook her head lightly, crossing her arms over her chest in hopes of producing some sort of warmth, and then began walking. Though she knew for a fact that there was no way in hell she could walk that far. Especially in four-inch heels. But there was also no way that she'd ask for a ride, having been through what she had. Not even with a simple gesture like that could she trust someone. All thoughts aside, she just walked. Her nearly bare skin going numb from the temperature outside, and her eyes fixated on the pavement.
So many thoughts seemed to whirlwind through her mind, no longer aware of the numbness in her bare legs and arms. Specifically leading back to that boy in Las Vegas. Those eyes especially lingering into her head. They were a bright, breathtaking blue. Even from where she stood, she could read the expression in the crystal orbs. It was almost as if he appeared.. fascinated by her. Not in a way that most men looked at her, in the clothes she was forced to wear, either. His eyes seemed slightly more innocent than that. As if he maybe he was interested in her, some mystery girl wearing a promiscuous outfit. With an empty, lonely, and sad look lingering in her eyes.
A more violent gust of cold wind knocked her from her thoughts, making her shiver and walk a little faster. She had to get out of this cold, or surely she'd freeze to death. Somehow, someway, she needed to just get into the city. Once getting there, it was unknown what would happen, but she'd find a means of work and a place to stay. One way, or another.
About a Half Hour Later.
The girl glanced around the town streets, her whole body nearly numb. She walked quietly into a small, hole-in-the-wall cafe. Moving and sitting in an empty booth, her arms still crossed over her chest, as she tried to rub up and down her arms. Trying to regain warmth and feeling in her frail body. As she sat in silence, trying to figure out what to do with herself, she couldn't help but get the feeling that quite a few pairs of eyes had been on her. Timidly looking up, a small proper looking family sat gawking at her. As well as a few eyes behind the counter, and at the counter. It seemed as if the moment she looked away, a petite little waitress stood before her, smiling softly. "Hey, I don't mean to bug you. But I was wondering if I could get you anything?" she questioned, a notepad and pen in her hands.
Curiously looking up, the blonde smiled weakly back, turning her back briefly to retrieve the three dollars she had left, out of her cleavage. Turning back around, "Coffee..?" she asked, her voice cracking involuntarily. The waitress looked down at the money on the table, and then back up at the mystery girl. Her expression softened, a she gently shook her head, pushing it back towards her. "No, no. It's on the house.." Before she could reject, the red-headed waitress had walked away. Sighing inaudibly to herself, she sat back and rested her head on the booth seat, letting her eyes flutter shut for a moment. Finally beginning to regain feeling and warmth in her body.
Tucking a strand of loose blond hair behind her ear, as there was a small sound of glass touching the wood table. Her eyes fluttered open, looking at the redheaded waitress. Gazing over her a minute, in both curiosity and analyzation. Soft brown eyes with a touch of green, a tannish complexion, with a petite and thin body, and pixie-like facial features. Her curly red hair pulled back into a loose ponytail. A light grey t-shirt and faded blue jeans on, underneath a knee-length beige apron with flour and coffee stains. A pin just along the strap of the apron, of which wrapped around her neck, with the name '"I.. I can pay," the blond trailed off, only to be stopped by the waitress. "Hun, shush," she said softly, moving to sit in the booth seat across from her. "My name's Madelynn, but please just call me Maddie," she smiled lightly, sticking out a perfectly manicured hand to her.
Why is she being so kind? she thought to herself, hesitantly taking her hand and shaking it, smiling weakly. "Abigail, call me Abbie.." she said quietly, questioning whether if she should put trust in this girl she met merely five minutes ago, "I don't mean to be rude.. By why are you being so nice to me?" The girl pursed her lips and turned around, everyone's eyes no longer lingering on the promiscuous-looking blond. The small family stood in front of the door, the father walking out with the children. The mother stopping and glaring at the blond, before walking to the table. "I suggest you go put some clothes on, this is a family-welcome environment. Trashy trollops aren't wanted," she said in disgust, her hand on her hip. Madelynn glanced up, while Abigail remained quiet. "This is also an environment where people of all kinds are welcome," she said, smiling a sly smile. The woman rolled her eyes, "Well, if this is how I am to be treated, my family and I will not be back." And with that, she left.
Abbie just stared at Maddie in disbelief, "And why would you stand up for me..?" she mumbled, not believing her ears. Maddie just shrugged, "It's what's right," she replied simply. Abbie gazed at her a minute, before glancing down and sipping the coffee on the table. "Can't you get fired, for treating customers like that..?" Abbie questioned quietly. A slight smirk tugged at her lips, shaking her head lightly, "Nah, my dad owns this place. He would've done the same." A gentle grin sprawled across the blond's face, shaking her head slightly as her fingertips traced the rim of the coffee mug. "What..?" Maddie asked curiously, smiling faintly and cocking a brow, "Not used to human decency?" Half joking, half serious. "No, not really.." Abbie replied quietly, her lips a thin line and her facial expression serious. The redhead was truly confused, her eyebrow raising yet again, "What do you mean..?" she asked quietly. The blond just shook her head and forced a weak smile, "Nothing.." she whispered, before looking back down blankly at the table. Not liking that she had began to speak and trust this girl so easily, just for standing up for her. She promised herself that she wouldn't trust again, no matter how kind a person seemed. After all, that was how she got herself into the mess she did.. Trusting a boy she had known for so long, whom had long since changed, after the last time she saw him..
Abigail's face went blank as her past memories seemed to whirlwind through her head. Her skin going pale as her hands began to faintly tremble, gripping the white mug between them. Maddie's voice fading into the background, as familiar voices began to trail into her head..
"The boss is coming to see her, you better hope he approves of this one, Gavyn," a deep male voice said, sounding not to far away. She felt her wrists bound, something covering her mouth, and her back pressed to a cold brick wall. Her eyes heavy as she fought to open them, her groan of confusion and slight pain, muffled by a piece of duct tape. Through blurred vision, she peered up at a seemingly familiar face staring back down at her. "Finally awake, I see," a less weary, withered deep voice spoke, riddled with amusement.
The blond girl merely stared up at him with fearful eyes, wide awake now, struggling with the binds around her wrists. It only took a second for her to realize what had just happened.. The one she loved had betrayed her, just like all the rest. She was being sold into human slavery, for a quick wad of cash. What people always say must be true, she thought, things aren't always what they seemed. After all, why would he want to meet up with her and be together, after them being apart for so long? Even when they were friends, they'd had various arguments and differences.. And he always did have a shifty sense about him. Disappointment, fear, nervousness, and embarrassment coursed through her. She felt so stupid for acting naive, for trusting and having faith in him oh-so-easily.. Now she'd live the rest of her life as some pervert's personal whore. "By that look on your face, I'm guessing you know what's going on," he snickered darkly, kneeling before her with a smug look on his face, "your parents may not own you anymore, but now you have a new owner, bitch."
