I Would Die For You

Andy and I had changed into nicer clothes. Well I had, since all he did was throw on his leather jacket. We were having lunch with his family and then going to my house to see mine. There, we were having dinner and watching my younger cousins open presents.

"Andy, Jasey! We need help cooking down here!" Amy yelled. Andy grabbed my hand and led me down the stairs. I noticed one of Andy's cousins DJ, glaring at me. She was young, probably around thirteen.

"DJ, come help us!" Andy said as we got to the kitchen, she shook her head. He told me before he and DJ were really close but she didn't seem to be talking to him right now.

"Babe, what's up with your cousin?" I asked as we started skinning potatoes.

"I don't know, usually she jumps at the opportunity to hang out with me." He heaved a sigh. I rubbed his shoulder.

"Go talk to her." I smiled at him.

"Come with me? I have a feeling this about us." He bit his lip ring. I nodded. We set the potatoes down and walked over to DJ.

"Hey, D, what's up with you?" Andy asked, sitting down. He wrapped an arm around her, and I sat on his lap. DJ glared at me.

"Nothing." She muttered.

"Clearly something is wrong." He said, looking in her eyes, "Is it me?"

"No not you." She grimaced.

"Jasey?" Andy asked. She rolled her eyes, "What do you have against her?"

"I'm supposed to be your best friend. You said I was your number one girl for years and now she comes along and everything is about Jasey this, Jasey that. Andy and Jasey are getting married! How incredible is that!? You barely have any time to talk to me anymore!" DJ shook her head and looked away from me. Andy looked sadly at her.

"Awh D! I'm always going to love you! But Jasey is very special to me, okay? She's the first person I've ever really wanted to be with and I love her just as much as you. It would mean a lot if you could be nice?" Andy said.

"But you're never going to hang out with me anymore! Or call me because you'll be with her!" She groaned. I felt my stomach twist in sadness.

"DJ, the reason I'm not calling much is becaus I'm really busy. I have a band and yes also a fiancé and soon to be wife to take care of. I'm not going to lie, Jasey is my family out there in Los Angeles. We're all each other has, but that doesn't mean I don't love you. Never think that." He said hugging her close to him. "I promise we'll hang out just us soon, okay?"

DJ sighed, "Alright. Can we hang out this week? Maybe you, me and Jasey." I smiled at her.

Andy nodded, "You bet kiddo. Now come help us." He ruffled her hair. We all ran in the kitchen and started cooking.
