"We can be monsters together." I whisper.
He takes a painful breath and looks up.
"What do you mean?"
Trenton was open with me so I can be open with him.
I told myself.
Taking a deep breath in and closing my eyes, I pull up my sleeve. Mine were way worse than his, but he still had fresh ones.
"But you quit." He sniffles.
"It doesnt mean I still havent destroyed myself."
I looked into his eyes and saw a mirrored image of my past self. A broken person with bloodshot eyes and who was so overwhelmed with pain in the mind so they showed it on their body.
"It gets better, I promise."
"I dont wanna sit here and wait for it to get better!" He yelled. "I dont wanna feel pain anymore, I dont wanna feel anything."
He wasnt even crying anymore. This was serious for him.
I grabbed his hands and he didnt pull away this time.
Leaning in, I placed a kiss on his cheek, forcing him to blush.
"Screw dinner. Let's go to the party."
He nods and restarts the engine.
