“The number you are trying to call has been disconnected-” he hung up the phone again. Andy cursed, rolling his eyes, then he looked down at his phone. He held it in his palm and sighed. Why wasn't she answering. He'd been trying to get a hold of her all day and she won't pick up. The number is disconnected? What does that mean? How could that be? Damnit, Juliet. He was starting to get worried. Why was no one telling him anything.

Three days before the wedding. Three days, and then Juliet would be his wife. But where was she? Was she not the one stressing over final details just days before this? Why the sudden disappearance? Andy unlocked his phone and scrolled through his contacts to Angie's number.

“Angie, thank God” he breathed when Juliet's sister answered after two rings. “You must know where Juliet is, right?”

“Andy,” she began, but Andy cut her off, running over time as the stress of the wedding got to him too.

“It says her number has been disconnected? What's that about? What's going on? I haven't seen her since Monday”

“Andy, slow down. You need to listen to this.” The tone of Angie's voice stopped Andy in his tracks. He was walking down the street, heading back to his apartment, but he slowed down, earning a grumble from a man as he overtook him.

He immediately thought the worst. She's been hurt. Something has happened. What if she's injured. Oh God, what if it's something worse?

“Juliet's gone, Andy” Angie said quietly. Andy could barely hear her voice through the phone above the sound of the cars driving passed, but there was no mistaking those words.

“Gone...where? Gone as in...she's...she's?” he stuttered, trying to think of a valid sentiment behind the word 'gone'. Surely not...dead. He would have heard something much sooner. They would have got in touch with him. So, what? Gone? Gone away for a few days? Gone shopping?

“Damnit, tell me Angie!” he suddenly snapped. He was completely still now, muscles tensed, listening to her breathing on the other end of the phone.

“I'm sorry I have to tell you. I begged her not to. I begged her to tell you herself. But she was such a mess. She was hysterical. She's my sister, Andy, so, I let her go.”

“Go where?” his voice cracked.

“I'm not sure. She disconnected her number. Got a new phone. Got a one way plane ticket. She was serious about getting away. She promised to call me soon. But, you...”

Andy swallowed hard. “She left me?”

The line was silent. Neither of them said a word.

“She left me?” his voice was a little harder now as the news sunk in. “She abandoned the wedding? Us?! She abandoned us?!”

“Andy, it's-”

“Angie I've got to go.” He hung up. He deleted her number. He deleted Juliet's brother's number from his phone too. But he hovered over her number. The disconnected number. He left it, and quickly picked up his pace to get back to his apartment. But even as soon as he got through the door, it reminded him of her. Things she had left behind, things for the wedding. In his bedroom, his tux was hanging on the back of his door. He gritted his teeth, looking at it. His first emotion was anger. How could she do this? Without so much as a word to him? Just up and left. Who the fuck does that?

He turned and kicked his chair over. He slammed his hand against the wall. Then he groaned loudly.

“Hey, Andy”

“No talking. We're going out tonight. Black out. I don't want to remember today” Andy hung up before Ashley had a chance to reply.

Heeeeey so apparently I have a think for prologues.

So now I have three stories up on this site, check out my others guys! As I always say, Legends is my priority, but I think it'll be fun to have three stories on the go because it gives me loads of different characters to write which will be nice if I want a change of pace; depending on my mood I can choose who I want to write, ya feel me?

This story and Complicated will be updated now and then when I write chapters, until Legends is finished.
