Amber's POV
I woke up in my room... Wait, wasn't I supposed to be at the beach? I looked around and saw Jack, asleep on a chair. He will have an horrible backache when he'll wake up! Poor man! I bet he was the one who brought me from the beach to my room! He was so nice to me! I went out of bed, lifted him up and softly lay him on my bed. Then I get to the bathroom and decided to take a looooong warm bath as I did'nt have anything to do today.
About an hour after, I get back to my room to dress myself. Jack was still asleep like a baby. Did'nt he sleep last night? I wore my underwear then my usual clothes -skinny jean, oversized shirt- when suddenly, FLASHBACK: Andy, the kiss, Juliet, the kiss. I felt an horrible headache, tears flowing down on my cheeks. My whole body hurt and I curled up in a foetal position. I stayed like that until the pain went out. When I stood up I saw dad looking at me, worried. I looked down at my feet, I did'nt want them to worry about me. Then I felt him touching my shoulder, I looked up as he started speaking:

“Amber, what's going on? Is it about Andy?” I saw angriness passing quickly in his eyes. But I knew it was useless to lie to him.
“Yeah, but I don't want to talk about it. It's over.
-Okay, I don't want to force you. There is still something I can't understand...
-What?
-You look pretty sad now, but it seems like you decided to hide it even in your mind. I can't know anything more than what you say.
-It's simple, you can read in my mind, not in my feelings. Then I refuse to think about it, so you can't read it neither. That's all.
-Why? Why do you refuse to think about it?
-It hurt.” I looked down again, suddenly passionate by the floor. But I began to think about yesterday. And he knew.

When I look back at him I saw fury in his eyes, then I heard him scream 'I will kill him' but his lips did'nt move. I grabbed his arm as he was spinning on his heels.
“Don't.” He looked back at me “Please, don't kill him.” I saw surprise painted on his face as I continued “Even if he hurted me like hell, I still love him. Don't let me experience this kind of pain. Please.” He looked at me, his deep red eyes full of pain then he answered:
“It's okay, I'll try to calm down and resist to the tentation of killing him. But I hope for him that he'll never meet me again! And moreover that he will NEVER hurt you again.”
He walked to the door then stopped and turned back to me. “Wait, did you just read in my mind?
-Hu... I... I guess.
-I don't remember saying about murdering him loud. But you actually replied! Amber it's anwesome! It seems like your powers are getting stronger and that you're getting used to them!” he said grinning now, his eyes turned into a bright red color. I smiled back at him, his brutal mood change was almost funny!

Around 12 AM Jack finally woke up next to me, I was reading when I heard him quickly sat up straight as if he had a nightmare. I softly sang 'Savior' to him and he slowly relaxed, when he was looking normal enough I asked:

“You're finally awake sleeping beauty?” He smiled at me then replied “I guess so, I woke up and did'nt recognize my sheets so I felt awkward you know...” I laughed a bit at his embarrassed face then added:

“When I woke up you were sleeping on a chair so I decided to make your back a favor!” he laughed too then I asked:
“Why were you sleeping on a chair in my room?
-No the question is: why were you sleeping at the beach after the sunset? It can be dangerous even for a vampire!
-Hu... I felt bad and wanted to be alone, I did'nt expect to fall asleep.” He sighed:

“I was so damn worried! Even more when I call Ronnie and he told me you were gone like two hours ago! He got as worried as me and helped me to find you.” he smiled “I guess he's not that bad... Anyway, then I bring you home and mom took care of putting you in your bed and blablabla. But about an hour later I heard you crying loudly, screaming, so I ran to your room. But you were asleep, I sat on this famous chair until you cried again and I rocked you about twenty time last night. But each time you cried you were still asleep. Then I fell asleep on... Well you know! Waiting for another cries. And that's why I woke up only now!
-Oh I'm sorry” I felt guilty about him not sleeping because of me...

“Hey, don't worry! You know that's why big brothers are there! I told you: you're not alone anymore!” I smiled at this idea.
“Wait... What's happening to you?
-Why?” I was totally confused now!
“How the fuck did you lift me up?
-Well... Like that” I said lifting him up again.
“I was'nt talking about how technically!!! I'm about the fact last time you could barely lift the table wich is about 30Kg (66 Lbs) and today you can... I'm about 80 fucking Kg (176 fucking Lbs)!!” He looked at me, eyes in eyes, I felt him looking for something... What?

“Amber, what is special about today?” I thought about it as much as I could, wondering about every seconds passed already today... Nothing!
What the fuck could be different today? We were just Saturday, April 12nd … Ooooh!! I know! How could I forget about my own... Birthday?
I had so much to do with my new powers and so much bullshit with love that I forget about my 18th birthday. I'm -finally- 18!
“Jack!!! It's my birthday today! I forgot about it!!
-And you never told us about it...” he said pouting like a child.
“I'm sorry but the past 4 months were... hu... full of events. If you see what I mean.
-Yes I know, come here little one” And he hugged me. Then went out of bed and run out of my room... What? What had Jack got in mind this time?

I kept reading my book about EF for an hour, then decided to find Emily, I liked talking to this girl! She was pretty wise for a “young” girl, and in the same time she had an ultra-optimistic point of view about life. The mix was cute, as she was. I walked to her room... No one, I walked in the whole house. I was alone, why? Where were them? I went back to my room, the door was locked from the inside. What the hell?? I turned around to see Emily grinning at me... I sighed then smiled back.

“Emily? What the fuck is happening?
-About what?” She replied so innocently it sounded fake.
“I mean, where are everyone? And where were you? And why is my door locked? And...
-Wait! I can answer only one question at the time!
-Oh yes, sorry.
-First, everyone is there, dad in the library, mum in her bathroom, Daniel in his room and Jack in yours. Second, I could be anywhere! Remember: I am a vampire I could go to the park and come back in 3 sec! And finally, I don't -and I could'nt- know why your door is locked. As you can see I'm not inside.”
I thought about what she just said, wait she was trying to make me loose my mind with all these explaination... I gave up! If my door stay locked fine!
“Anyway, I just wanted to talk with you for awhile.
-It's okay, let's go to the lounge.” I followed her absentmindedly.

We arrived at the lounge... the lounge! I felt tears forming in my eyes. I remembered about my pain. At least, this weird thing about people there and not there and my room's door had made me forget about it for a bit.
'Stop Amber! You are a woman now! Stop crying like a baby for his moma! Andy is an ass! He does'nt deserve your tears or your love! Just move on! You'll save his stupid ass then there will be no need of seeing this bastard again! You're amazing, you're amazing, repeat!'
Is there someone in my mind? I looked at Emily, she was grinning even more.
'Yes, there is someone! There's a good connection between you and I. So when we're close I can talk to you like this.' Oh! This is amazing!

My mood was just getting better when I saw the rest of the family coming. They were all grinning, and wished me happy birthday and hugs, hugs, hugs...
Then dad gave me a bag he was grinning evilly, inside of it there was... A book! Or maybe a dictionnary with this size! I sighed and they all laughed at loud, I started too. Dad knew how I hate these biiiiiig books..; Then Daniel gave me a little box, this time there was no weird smile! I openned it to found the most wonderful gift I ever had. A gold necklace with a little heart-shapped amber.
