Chapter 7: God Bless You
CC's POV
Jake saved me from being hit by a 44A to Balerno. He's my hero, my saviour, my one true love. I can never stay mad at him, mostly because he's now lying in a hospital bed in a coma with metal plates and screws in each leg, stitches on his head, a brace around his stomach and dislocated pelvis. I was scared, sometimes people don't make it out of comas alive. I wasn't going to leave Jake's side, I was here for him and I wasn't leaving. Ashley and Andy had left Jinxx, Sammi and I at the hospital to care for him. We cancelled tour dates for the year, I found a small temporary house in the small town of Cockenzie and Port Seton, it was just outside Edinburgh. I took the bus in everyday, I tried to disguise my look as much as I could, dressing up as Freddy Kruger from Nightmare on Elm Street gets you a lot of people hitting you, especially women with children. Jason gets you a run in with the fuzz to make sure you're not a harm to people. I soon gave up, I grew a moustache and beard, glued fake bushy eyebrows to my face and tried to learn Scottish from a little, nice, caring lady next door. So for the next few weeks I dressed up as a Scottish hobo. Luckily Jake was fine after the coma, bad news was he had to learn to walk again. The nice Scottish doctors made sure that Jake was healthy before he began physical therapy. I was glad I had a temporary home close to Jake, sadly my neighbours had children so band practice and partying was limited. Luckily I only had, Andy, Juliet, Jinxx, Sammi, Ashley, Trixy, Killer, Tokyo and Bubbalito. Yes our dog sitters let Juliet take the dogs on board with her and Andy.
Jake's POV
I was staying sunny Scotland. Ahh Scotland great countryside, horrible weather. I had physical therapy so I could walk again. All I remember from the accident was, I got hit by a bus saving CC and I was unconscious for a couple of weeks. When I woke up I got the news, I couldn't walk because one of my legs was messed up, causing the pool of blood, the other was broken and so I had to get a metal plate put in one and two in the other and screws to hold each in place. I had a dislocated pelvis, while I was unconscious they made sure I had no other fractures or breakages before performing surgery to move my pelvis back into shape. I had a brace around my waist because I broke ribs, AGAIN. We are the most hazardous band I've ever seen. Andy's broken ribs and his nose, Ashley's broken his nose, I've broken ribs and now been hit by a bus and been in Japan when the earthquake happened in 2011.
CC's POV
"Jake getting hit by a bus was all my fault." I confessed. "What, we're assigning blame now?" Andy asked. "If I hadn't walked out in front of a bus, we would still be playing shows and Jake wouldn't have to relearn to walk." I admitted. "CC it could've been any of us, it seems we've all broken something in our bodies except you and Jinxx." Andy tried to reassure me but I'd made up my mind, it was my fault. "CC, any of us could've walked in front of a bus, it just happened to be you, but it takes a real friend to risk his to save his friends." Ashley cooed. "Ashley's right, it was Jake's choice to save you, Ashley screamed but Jake risked his life to save you, it wasn't your fault it was Jake's choice." Jinxx argued. "No it was my fault." I had made up my mind, they should stop trying to change it. "I'm done, I'm sorry. CC if you want to assign blame then on you go, I don't care. Yes maybe if you had done something different Jake might have been here, playing guitar and playing shows. He's not, maybe Jake saved you because he loves you, he shouldn't have cheated, but you shouldn't ignore someone you love CC, we all stay on the same bus because we love each other as friends and brothers." Andy ranted. I sat and thought about Andy's rant. I knew he was right, they were all right, but I wanted self pity. "Guys, Jake's coming in." Jinxx said focusing his attention to the car outside. We all crowded round the window. We saw a silver Meriva outside, Jake was sitting in the back of the car. We didn't know if he was sitting in a wheelchair or on a seat, will we have good or bad news?...
