Awkward Love
Chapter 18: Exordium (Part 1)
CC's POV
After days of Jake and I looking like we were going to start the zombie apocalypse, we finally finished the album. We were given a couple of days to recover from the recording process. I'm so thankful that we had a couple days off before meeting at Ashley's house for an end of album process party. Jake and I each set an alarm to make sure we weren't late. They were set for the same time, both very loud and my alarm tone was a crazy dubstep song, Jake's was Crazy, Crazy Nights by Kiss. It was a strange combination when they both went off. We both dragged ourselves out of bed. Jake headed for the bathroom. I dragged my lifeless body into the lounge. I slumped down on the couch and fell asleep. "CC, CC!" Jake screamed jumping on me. I pushed him off, he fell to the floor with a hard thump and I rolled on top of him, I was still exhausted. Jake sat up and pushed me off his legs and dragged me through to the shower. He threw me over the bath and sprayed me with freezing cold water. I was awake and aware of what I was doing, I stood up and kicked Jake in the leg. He ran out before I got too violent. I quickly showered and then got dressed. I dried my hair and grabbed a hair tie and my beanie. Jake was wearing a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a grey vest and black leather pants from last years Golden Gods, where we won our third award for the third year in a row. Jake grabbed his keys and made his way to the car. I locked the house before making my way to his car. I tied my hair back and shoved my hat on my head en route to Ashley's house. The car journey was really quiet, either Jake had a lot on his mind that he didn't want to discuss or he was just as exhausted as I was. I listened to Sirius radio and barely spoke. The car journey was short compared to others. When we walked in we saw Ashley and Andy playing Injustice on Xbox 360 and Juliet beckoning me to help her prepare a large meal. Jake had brought over all his Call of Duty games and Mortal Kombat, Andy brought over Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, so he sat and watched the on screen action, I had commentary, who needs to watch the screen when you have Andy and Ashley's commentary on everything, no exaggeration. Juliet and I prepared a salad bowl, dressing, Cuban sandwiches, breads, ham, turkey, pastes. We began to lay everything on the table, when Jinxx and Sammi walked in. "Mmm, lunch looks nice." Sammi walked towards us and began to help to lay the table. I couldn't help but notice that Jake had dragged Jinxx out of the room. It didn't take long to lay everything out, with a helping hand from Sammi. Once we'd finished laying the table everybody was back in the room and Andy and Ashley had switched off the Xbox ready for lunch.
Jake's POV
I was glad when Jinxx arrived at Ashley's house. I looked over to him, exchanging looks before we each nodded. Jinxx and I walked out the room for a couple minutes, everybody but CC knew why. "Have you got it?" I asked quietly. "Yeah, when you going to do it?" He lowered his voice and handed me the small, black, velvet box. I put it in my pocket. "Now." I replied. We walked back into the room. Jinxx lightly tapped Ashley on the shoulder, he knew what he meant. Ashley switched off the Xbox before putting his and Andy's controller away. CC had finished helping Juliet and Sammi lay the table. I motioned over to him and pulled him into a kiss. I had six pairs of eyes set on me. They each watched in awe as I began to speak. I gripped his hand. "CC, I've always had feelings for or towards you, ever since the day we met. It was probably obvious but, I feared rejection. A couple of months ago I decided to get the confidence because you never know what might happen in the future. I love you CC, we've fought, we've made love, we've had ups, we've had downs, but it has revolved around love, always. I love you." I paused before reaching into my pocket. "CC, I love you. I hope you don't think I'm rushing into things, but about a month or so ago, I decided I wanted you to be mine, I wanted to spend my life with you." I paused opening the small box while getting down on one knee. "CC, will you marry me?" I asked, smiling at the expressions on Juliet and Sammi's faces...
