Chapter 13: Wretched and Divine
The day of CC's party:
Jake's POV
We've been awake for days on end. We finished the album, at last. I had to put Jinxx and Sammi in charge of CC's party because I was physically and mentally drained, I was exhausted. Andy fell asleep on Juliet, who was also asleep. Ashley drunk a lot of my alcohol to keep himself awake. We recorded the whole album in a week and a half, the rest of the time we edited the album. By the end of the editing of the album, I fell asleep on my couch, fully clothed. Ashley cuddled my frozen chicken and an empty bottle of Jack Daniels, in my bed. Andy and Juliet shared the floor in my mini recording studio. Trixy woke me up by licking my face. I went to change my clothes to find Ashley asleep with most of my refrigerator. I threw on clean clothes and picked up the album for CC. I saw Andy and Juliet lying on the floor, they'd obviously been 'wrestling' and fallen asleep. I grabbed the album and quickly left. I drove my car round to Jinxx and Sammi's house. "We need to contact Austin D'Amond for CC's party, they're great friends, have been for years, haven't spoken since Soundwave 2012." I panted. "I'll do that." Jinxx suggested. "I meant, I've contacted him." I was stressed and exhausted. "I hope so, Sammi's decorating the cake, we've wrapped everyone's present except yours. We've blown up balloons at the venue, we have a lot of silly string cans and some wacky hairspray that changes your hair colour temporarily. We rented a bar." Jinxx finally finished. He quickly wrapped up the album and asked me to sign it. I'd left the cover blank to create a mystery. At 11:30am we drove to the venue to do last minute setting up. Luckily the setting up didn't take long and I could have a quick power nap before the party.
CC's POV
Nobody remembered my birthday. I found a cupcake in my refrigerator and shoved a candle in top. I lit the candle. "Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear CC, happy birthday to me." I sang before blowing out the candle. This was the highlight of the day, the rest of the day was spent checking my phone every two seconds, cuddling Bubbalito so much he ran away from me and crying. Finally something happened, at 5pm Jinxx text me. CC come to Danny's bar please. :D
I threw on some clean clothes, kissed Bubbalito goodbye, raced out to my car and drove to Danny's bar. When I walked in there was nobody there. I walked in further. "SURPRISE!" Everybody screamed. I jumped out of my skin. "Happy Birthday." Jake, Jinxx, Sammi, Andy, Juliet, Ashley and Jon each said in turn. I couldn't stop smiling. I'd noticed that Jake, Jinxx and Sammi had disappeared. In a couple of minutes they were playing 'Happy Birthday' over the speakers. Then it went into a song I'd never heard before. Jake walked through the crowd. "CC, I made this for you, I made an album expressing our love because I love you and I want you and Bubbalito to move in with me and Trixy." He whispered in my ear. He repeated what he'd said but louder so everybody could hear. Before asking me to move in with him he got on one knee and took my hands, he then asked me to move in with him. "Yes." I was shaking, I was nervous, delighted and in love with Jake. We took off Jake's album he made me and put on some 80s music. We danced all night and drank alcohol in between. By the end of the night Jake and I were slightly drunk. Neither of us could've driven home. Ashley called a cab for us. Luckily he had paid because we didn't pay him. We burst into Jake's house...
