My Prophet

I'll Never Let You Fall

I blew out a shaky sigh as Coralie and I walked downstairs to our mailbox. Today was the day we found out if she was positive for cancer.

I'd taken her to go get her bloodwork done a week earlier and now the letter was here, deciding my loves fate. She'd been telling me that she was feeling way better and that hopefully it was some cold or maybe even a placebo. That the only reason she was feeling so nasty was because her father died and her mind was tricking her into thinking she was dying too.

I reached into the small mail slot and grabbed the thin envelope. She looked at me wearily and I wrapped my arm around her waist before climbing back up the stairs to our apartment.

Once back, we sat down at the kitchen table, the letter in the middle.

"I don't think I can do this." She said, looking up at me.

"We have to know, Corrie. We have to know so you can get better." I took her hand and squeezed it before grabbing the letter. "Do you want me to do it?"

"Yes." She whispered. I tore the seal, and closed my eyes as I took out the thin letter. I unfolded it twice and then glanced over the words. My heart soared as I soaked them in.

Patient: Johnson Coralie, R.

Bloodwork: Negative but with high risk because of family history.

Notes: Keep a close watch on her.

Coralie let let out a breathy laugh and leaned into kiss me. I pulled her onto my lap and buried my head in her shoulder. "I'm so happy.." I shook my head. She ran her fingers through my hair and kissed my temple.

"Me too." She smiled.

I couldn't help but think about if it had been positive. We wouldn't have had the money to get her through the therapy she would have needed. She wouldn't have been able to dance. I probably wouldn't have been able to tour. It was like someone was up there looking out for us and I had no doubt that it was none other than Mark Johnson, Coralie's grandmother, and our lost son.

They were our angels, guiding us. Making sure we were on the right path together. They knew I couldn't have lived without Coralie, and vice versa.

My life would always revolve around this beautiful women. I would always do anything for her, and her me. Love is such a beautiful thing and if we hadn't rented the right rehearsal space I never would have had it.

I didn't believe in a god but I knew there had to be someone out there that would put this angel in my path.

And they knew we would be together.

Forever..

~End of book one~

I know the feeling. My stories from two years ago on here are just cringe-worthy in my opinion. But I definitely can relate to the your main character already just because of the the dance aspect. Kind of reminds me of my series "The Mortician's Daughter/Lost It All" and "Wretched and Divine/Ohio Is For Lovers" Those two series are dance related which are my favorite types of stories to write
