My Prophet

I Feel Lost

Andy and I stepped off the bus, feeling the warm Los Angeles air on our skin. After a long three months of death, sickness, and some plain fun we were back home.

John helped us take our stuff up to the apartment that I hadn't even realized I missed so much. Everything was the same as how we left it.

Keenan had come by every week to check on the place so I knew it would be okay. I watched Andy as he flopped down on the couch and sighed. "I'm so happy we're home."

"Me too." I said, laying down next to him. He grinned and wrapped his arms around me. "I have dance next week."

"I have a tour in two months." He whispered.

"I know." I sighed. "And we have a wedding to plan."

"Can we do that in two months?" He asked. I shook my head and stood up. I walked over to the row of windows in our living room.

"Maybe we shouldn't get married right now.." I mumbled. A few drops of rain started to trickle down the clear glass.

"W-what?" Andy said, his voice sounding pained. I looked back at him to see him sitting up on the couch, tears in his eyes. "You don't want to marry me anymore?"

"I-I don't know what I want.." I said, reaching up to rub temples.

"How do you not know?" Andy stood up, tears now falling down his cheeks.

"I know that I'm in love with you! I know that I want to always be with you but we're both so busy right now!" I exclaimed. "I just need some time to think." I walked towards the door, my phone in my hand.

"Corrie, are you really leaving me like this?" He asked, following after me. I felt him grab my arm.

"I-I'm sorry, Andy, I just can't deal with this right now." I said. My head was pounding and I felt like I was about to throw up. Being sick was a regular occurrence for me now. The night of prom I was so bad I even took a pregnancy test but it was negative.

There was something seriously wrong with me, and I had no idea what it was.

"Coralie, your my Dragonfly. My true love. I'm not going to let you leave me right now." He said.

"Andy it's not that..." I shook my head.

"Then what is it?" He asked, stepping closer to me. "Please enlighten me!"

"I think I'm dying!" I shouted, throwing my head in my hands. I sank to the floor, tears now flowing down my face. He was quiet for a moment, before he fell to the floor with me and pulled me in his arms. "I think I'm really sick, Andy. I don't want to put you through this."

"Coralie, if that's the case you need to go to the doctor. Not call of our engagement." He whispered, rocking me back and forth. "You can get help. Your young, and healthy. If your sick we'll make it through this. Don't push me away, let me hold you. Let me comfort you."

I sobbed into his chest, clutching his shirt. It wasn't until two minutes of this that he started singing to me.

The best things in life, come with a price.

The star that burned so bright, faded the fastest.

You'll always feel it right. Even when we end the fight. Welcome home, home tonight.

Singing oh, oh. Oh, oh. Welcome home tonight.

Oh, oh oh. Tonight.

Words they don't know how to make amends. And all they do is push you to the edge, but it's not wasted.

It's all done for you.

It's all done for you.

"I will save you." He whispered. "I'll catch you when you fall."

"I'm scared." I said, my voice shaking.

He sighed, "Me too."

I know the feeling. My stories from two years ago on here are just cringe-worthy in my opinion. But I definitely can relate to the your main character already just because of the the dance aspect. Kind of reminds me of my series "The Mortician's Daughter/Lost It All" and "Wretched and Divine/Ohio Is For Lovers" Those two series are dance related which are my favorite types of stories to write

Awh thanks! This is one of my older stories so I personally believe the quality isn't as good as some of my more recent ones but thank you!

Just finished chapter one and already digging it! Can't wait to continue reading it!
