My Prophet

One thing that I know for sure

Oh no, not here! I thought to myself groaning. Andy, and I sat in a tiny coffee shop sipping on a cappuccino for myself, and black coffee for Andy.

I bit my lip as I watched an older women read a newspaper, images flashed through my mind, and I forced myself to stay put instead of talking to her.

Yes I'm a ballerina but their is one other important personally trait of mine, I'm a physic medium.

My grandmother was one, and my gift developed when I was around seven years old. I remember waking up every night to the sound someone banging their head against the window, and when I looked over their was a man. His eyes pleaded for me to help him, but Everytime I tried to speak to him he disappeared. I told my mother, and she told me she knew it was only a matter if time before I developed the gift. My grandmother explained everything to me, and I've come to terms with it since.

I really didn't tell many people, because usually they don't believe me. It took Keenan three weeks to get used to the idea once I told him.

Andy, and I had been hanging out everyday since our run in at the bar, and had become fast friends. Our love of Batman kindled the flame, and made it much easier for the two of us to connect.

Right now though the only thing I could think about as Andy talked about some new song he was working on, was the poor old lady who needed to hear a message from her late husband.

"Andy, can you excuse me for a moment?" I cut him off mid sentence.

"Oh yeah, are you alright?" He asked, worry in his eyes. I knew I would have to explain what was going on but right now, I needed to talk to this lady before she left.

"I'll tell you in a little while, just hold on." I jumped up from my seat, and walked over to the women.

"Hi my name is Coralie, and I'm a physic medium which means I can communicate with the dead." I said sweetly. The women looked up at me with wide eyes.

"Alright." She said uneasily. I exhaled as I saw Andy move closer to us out of the corner of my eye.

"I was wondering if your husband had passed away recently?" I asked.

"Yes two weeks ago." She said.

"Did you tell him to let go while he was sleeping?" I asked her seeing the image of her holding an older man's hand in a hospital room.

"Yes I did." I saw tears prick to her eyes.

"Alright, uhm, did he die from something of the throat?" I asked, feeling my throat close up.

"Yes he had throat cancer." She had tears running down her face, now.

"Okay, well m'am I just want you to know that he is here right now, and he is telling me to tell you to throw away his hat." She gasped, and covered mouth with her hands.

"Oh my god." She said grabbing my hands. She closed her eyes, and seemed to be deep in thought.

"How do you connect with roses?" I asked.

She started laughing, "Oh my gosh I told him to say if this was real to get you to see roses." She was almost sobbing now.

I suddebly got got the image of him watching her over while she slept, and a dog waking the lady up from her slumber by barking at the man.

"Is your dog waking you up by barking at something in the middle of the night?" I asked.

"Yes! She barks at nothing!" The lady exclaimed.

"Okay, well just know that your dog is barking at your husband who is watching over you while you sleep evey night. He wants me to tell you that he loves you, and wants you to be happy, and also that Heaven is beautiful." I smiled at her, and she pulled me into a hug. I glanced at Andy who was looking at me shocked.

"Thank you so much." The women said, I nodded at her and walked back over to Andy, bracing myself for the questions to come.

"What was that!?" He exclaimed. I exhaled.

"Andy I'm a medium."

I know the feeling. My stories from two years ago on here are just cringe-worthy in my opinion. But I definitely can relate to the your main character already just because of the the dance aspect. Kind of reminds me of my series "The Mortician's Daughter/Lost It All" and "Wretched and Divine/Ohio Is For Lovers" Those two series are dance related which are my favorite types of stories to write
