My Prophet

Once chance...and I'll prove you wrong

"Andy stop mopping around get a drink, and talk to someone!" CC said clapping me hard on the shoulder.
"Dude, you know I can't drink when we go to bars, I'm only 20! I hate this...I don't want to talk to anyone." I said resting my head in my hand.
"Just go talk to one person, and if nothing comes of it we can leave." Ashley said, taking a swig of his beer. I groaned, and looked around the room.

I saw a girl with curly brown hair sitting at the bar, wearing all black. She looked cute enough from behind to talk to for a few minutes at least. I stood up, ignoring the cat calls from CC and Ashley, and walked over to the girl.

As I got closer I noticed a tattoo on the side of her tiny thigh. I recognized it immediately as the cover of Batman Year One. I chuckled lightly to myself, maybe this wouldn't be so bad. I was standing behind her ready to say something when I realized how familiar she looked to me. I saw her head turn slightly looking across the room, and I noticed the cute button nose. That's when it dawned on me.

Coralie.

"Coralie?" I said shocked. Her outfit was nothing I would have expected. A studded shirt, black high waisted shorts, and topped of with the two beautiful tattoos littering her legs. Her head whipped around, and shock settled into her youthful features.
"Hey Andy." She muttered.
"What are you doing here?" I asked shocked, still looking at the tattoo on her leg. Her eyes drifted to the Batman tattoo on my arm, and she smirked.
"Keenan dragged me out, you?" She said her voice was silky, and I bit my lip ring to fight the urge to kiss her.
"Ashley and CC made me." I shook my head. Her blue eyes sparkled at me, and I got lost in how deep they were.

It was like every intricate fiber of every beam of color told a different story. Her long hair fell past her shoulders, and tumbled down her back. The ends seemed to be tripping over each other in the race of how long they could grow.
"-Batman?" Was all I heard. I was too focused on how beautiful she was.
"I'm sorry what?" I asked, shyly.
"I said are you a big Batman fan?" She repeated.
"Huge. I have every comic, tons of figures, all the movies...it's starting to get sad.." I said chuckling. She laughed at me, and I felt my heart convulse at the sound.

It was a sound I wanted to hear everyday of my life. Her laughter sounded like my favorite Alkaline Trio song, it was music to my ears.
"Well I like your tattoo." She said, still smiling a bit.
"Thanks. Nice Year One tattoo." I complimented.
"Thanks." She looked down at her lap, "What's your favorite comic?"
"The Long Halloween." I said, "The art is incredible! You?"
"Well my favorite is probably the Killing Joke. I love finding out why the Joker wears his makeup, y'know? Even if we still aren't sure that's exactly how he got it." She said, and I couldn't help but wonder where the Hell this girl had been all my life.
"That one is great! What's your favorite movie?" I asked.
"Batman, 1989." I said, "Tim Burton was the best director in my humble opinion. Yours?"
"Batman Begins is my favorite. Nolan is great." I said.
"Well now that I've had the nerdiest conversation I've had all night, would you like to sit down?" She asked me, and I nodded, pulling the bar stool next to her out.
"So your a ballerina, huh?" I asked her.
"Yeah." She said.
"How long have you been dancing?" I said.
"Seventeen years." She said, shaking her head.
"Wow." I said respectively, "How old are you?"
"Nineteen you?" She said.
"Twenty."
"What's the whole band thing all about?" She asked looking up at me.
"We're called Black Veil Brides. I'm the lead singer." I replied.
"Cool, your a rock band I'm assuming." She smirked.
"Yeah, I've loved rock music since I was a kid. Being in a successful band is a dream come true." I said.
"That's really awesome. I've always listened to that stuff too." She said, "Why are you guys rehearsing?"
"We're going on tour soon for our sophomore album Set The World On Fire." I said. "Why are you rehearsing?"
"I'm the lead in Giselle." She said, a small playing on her lips.
"That's-" I was cut off, by Keenan running to Coralie's side.
"Corrie!" He slurred, "I'm going home with Jonathan! Can you get home by yourself?" He glanced at me, "Oh Mr. Rockstar! Is Corrie being nice to you? I told her too!"
I chuckled, "Yes, she is very nice."
"Keenan, did you just meet Jonathan? Is he safe?" Coralie said, worriedly.
"Yes mom." Keenan said sarcastically. "Seriously Corrie don't worry about me, I'll be fine! See you in the morning." He kissed her cheek, and she sighed.
"By Keen." She shook her head as walked off.
"Does he do that a lot?" I asked her.
"More than you'll ever know." She said laughing a bit.
"Well Coralie, I'd love for you to come home with me, if you'd be alright with that." I said, and she sighed.
"Andy, I'm not looking for anything romantic right now, I'd love it if we could just be friends, and see where this goes, but right now I want to take it slow" She bit her lip, and I mentally groaned.

I'm not good at taking things slow. I wanted to be able to call Coralie my girlfriend, but I know I couldn't let her go over something like this.
So I said, "Yeah that's fine. Can I have your number?" I bit my lip.
She chuckled, "Of course."

Notes

Hmm Corrie likes to take things slow..but clearly Andh doesn't!

I know the feeling. My stories from two years ago on here are just cringe-worthy in my opinion. But I definitely can relate to the your main character already just because of the the dance aspect. Kind of reminds me of my series "The Mortician's Daughter/Lost It All" and "Wretched and Divine/Ohio Is For Lovers" Those two series are dance related which are my favorite types of stories to write
