An Unexpected Love

Brittany’s POV

I looked down at my phone to see Jinxx had texted me.

Jinxx: Brittany…

Brittany: Jinxx, please don’t.

Jinxx: Brittany, he still doesn’t know we have been talking every once in a while, I think I should tell him your fine.

Brittany: Jinxx, it has to be this way. I can’t let Julia hurt anyone. It’s my fault getting involved knowing my past.

Jinxx: Nothing is your fault, don’t say that. Brittany, are you sure there is no other way?

I slammed my head gently against the table, knowing there was, without having to use Avery’s evidence, but, really, I didn’t want to use it.

“Britt, you ok?” I looked up at Avery, my chin still resting on the table. I sighed.

“Jinxx and I were just talking, and I got an idea…” Avery sat up.

“What is it?”

“You’re not going to like it…” I trailed off and looked at my phone, biting my snake bite.

Brittany: I have an idea, but I know Avery, and the rest of you if you knew, would never go for it, especially not Ashley.

Jinxx: That sounds…bad if Ashley wouldn’t even go for it. Can we meet up to talk? Just us, and maybe Avery, no Ashley or anyone else.

I sighed again.

“Can Jinxx meet us? He knows…”

“Kind of figured he did when you said he brought up the idea. Sure, tell him to get here as quickly as possible, I want to know this idea of yours.” I nodded and sent Jinxx a quick text telling him where we were. Soon enough, he walked in and I waved him over. He slid in next to me, and I saw Andy walk in a couple seconds later. “I told him to meet us here, too. Now we can all put our heads together.” I nodded. Andy sat next to Avery, and you could see she was trying so hard to control herself. They all looked at me and I sucked in a breath.

“I need to call Jasper.” Avery stiffened up and the other two looked on, confused.

“No. No way in hell are you calling him.” I sighed.

“Avery, it’s the only way. Julia isn’t hurt over her ex from college, she’s hurt over him. The last straw was the other guy, though.”

“Who’s Jasper?” I played with my bites in my mouth, something I had been doing a lot lately. I thought I had broken the habit, but apparently not…or I just started it up again.

“My ex from high school,” I said quietly. Jinxx and Andy looked at me in shock.

“Let me get this straight; you want to contact the guy who beat you?!” Avery shot Andy a glare as I nodded silently.

“Julia’s rage was mostly toward him and I being together.” I looked at my hands. “She still brings him up whenever she pulls this stunt.” I looked at the three of them. “He um…he got in contact with me about a month ago.” Avery’s mouth dropped open. Usually, I would laugh and tell her o close it before a bug flew in, but I felt to empty to be making jokes right now.

“And you didn’t tell me this?” I shook my head.

“I knew how you would react, and he apologized…he has gone through therapy and is…mentally stable now. He asked about Julia, but I told him I didn’t know anything. He said if I hear anything to tell her to talk to him…he wants to tell her how he truly feels…Avery…this could fix everything.” I looked at her, and her resolve seemed to be faltering a little. “Come on…let me do this.” She sighed.

“Fine.” I pulled out my phone again and typed the number I thought I never have to use.

Brittany: Hey…Brittany here…

I held my breath waiting for him to answer. Everyone was watching me for hints of anything.

Jasper: Hey! Long time no…talk. What’s up?

Brittany: Nothing really…listen…Jasper…we need your help.

Jasper: My help? Wow, never thought I would hear that from you, thought you hated me. What's wrong?

Brittany: Julia…can you meet us at Smitty's Diner so we can talk about this more?

Jasper: Yeah, I live like five minutes up the road. See you there.

Brittany: See you.

I sighed.

“He will be here in about five minutes. Please at least try to be nice.” Avery, Jinxx and Andy nodded. We kept up some small talk until Jasper walked in. He had glasses on, his hair looked freshly dyed, and he had snakebites. He came over and pulled up and chair, sitting backwards on it. He smiled at me.

“Brittany! Man you look great. Been a while, huh?” I nodded.

“It has been. But, I’m not feeling so great.” He smile quickly turned to a frown of concern.

“What’s wrong?” I took a deep breath.

“Jasper, meet Jinxx and Andy from the Black Veil Brides. They’re here to help fix what Julia messed up, my relationship with Ashley Purdy and Avery’s relationship with CC.” his eyes widened in shock.

“Julia?” I nodded.

“Will you help us?” He nodded.

“Anyway I can.”
