Our big family (book three of Unbroken series)

Breaking Point

I was less than thrilled to see Jayy again. Of course, he just had to show up when I had someone. I had a bad feeling that he was going to try something.
"Hey, Calvin, are you okay?" Kit asked me with a genuin look of worry on her face.
"I guess. I'm just nervous that Jayy will do something that will ruin my relationship with Elliot," I sighed.
"Um...yeah. I really like him. I haven't liked anyone as much since..."
"Jayy," Kit finished.
I gave her a guilty look. I had really fallen for Jayy a couple years back when Flashbang first started. It wasn't anything serious at first. Jayy and I had fooled around a bit, promising each other that it was just a temporary thing. I don't know when it happened, but eventually I fell for him. I fell in love with his smile, his laugh, and his voice. He made me feel something deep than I had ever felt before. I guess he had fallen for me too, somewhere down the line. I honestly couldn't see what he saw in me. I was a scrawny, introverted guy with low self-esteem. Hell, I'm still that guy. We had gotten serious and things were great.
Then he went on tour.
Being away from him for the first few weeks was hell for me. I had forgotten what it was like for him to not be next to me during our time together. He would call me every night and tell me about the touring life. I had never been on tour, mostly because at that point Flashbang could only get bookings at local venues. I would stay locked up in my apartment, only coming out when Kit would guilt me into it. I was finally getting the hang of being apart from Jayy after a month. And suddenly everything went south.
Kit came to my apartment one day looking more depressed than usual. I had asked her what was up and she just pushed past me, into my house. She logged onto my computer and accessed my twitter. She apparently found what she was looking for, and she showed me a photo of something I didn't want to see.
Jayy was kissing another guy.
I had felt my heart break into a million pieces. I remember sinking to the ground. Kit ran over to me and knelt by my side, hugging me tightly. She whispered reassuring things in my ear, like how I was better off without him and how Jayy didn't realize what a great guy he had just lost.
I hadn't talked to Jayy since the day after I found out and told him that we were done. Now he was back and pretending like everything was okay between us.
"Elliot is better for me than Jayy was," I told Kit, "I know that Elliot won't cheat on me."
"If he does, though, tell me so I can kick his ass," she smirked.
"Hey, Cal," Elliot said, finally finding me.
"Hey, Elliot," I smiled, going up to him and giving him a peck on the lips.
"Why aren't you hanging out with Jayy, Dahvie, and the rest of the guys?" Elliot asked me.
"Jayy and I kinda don't get along," I said.
"Oh? Why?"
"Jayy and I used to date," I admitted to him.
Elliot looked down at the ground.
"Oh," he said, "Do you still...uh...like him?" he asked.
"No. I love you. I would never, ever leave you for him," I said, lifting his head up so that his eyes met mine.
"You love me?" he smiled.
"Yeah," I blushed.
Elliot leaned in and gently kissed me on the lips. Our kiss began to deepen when I heard a sniffle from behind us. Kit.
"Kit, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that while you were still here," I apologized, giving her a hug. Quinn had told me this morning that Ronnie had dumped Kit, and to be truthful, I wanted to kick his ass even though I knew I wasn't strong enough to fight him.
"It's okay," she sobbed.
"No it's not."
I just stood there, hugging Kit while Elliot stood by me awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
"Elliot, why don't you go back and hang with the guys?" I suggested.
"No, it's fine. You two should go back and have fun. I'll be okay," Kit said, pulling away from me.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yes, I'm sure."
I nodded my head and headed back to the guys with Elliot holding my hand. Jayy was looking at us with scrutinizing eyes as we sat down at the table.
"Hey Calvin," Jayy said.
"Hey, Jayy. So, what's been going on with you?" I asked, trying to be cordial.
"Nothing much. Touring, but that's about it," he responded, "What about you?"
"Touring, obviously, and I started dating Elliot," I said quietly.
Elliot gave Jayy a small smile, and Jayy smiled back, but I could tell that it was a reluctant one.
"So, I'm assuming Calvin has told you about our history?" Jayy asked Elliot.
"Yeah, he said you two dated."
"Well, I'd say it was a bit more than dating. More intimate," Jayy smirked.
I clentched my jaw as I saw Elliot look a bit crestfallen. Jayy was just trying to start shit.
"Jayy, stop," I growled.
Jayy looked at me with a suprised expression on his face. I had never been the dominant one in the relationship. I always let him tell me what to do, never the other way around. For me to order him to stop was probably the shock of his life.
"Elliot, let's go back to the bus," I said.
"Alright," Elliot replied as we got up from the table.
I swear to god, if Jayy gives Elliot and I any more trouble, I would flip.
