I Love You More Than I Can Ever Scream

Dearly Departed

I ran in the front room of Jasey's house. In my pocket was my mother's engagement ring. I had always had in the back of my mind that when I wanted to get married, I would ask my mother for her ring.

My mother loved Jasey, almost as much as I did, and she happily agreed, my dad saying he'd get her a new one. They were completely on board with this engagement thing, and now the only person left to convince was Jasey.

I left as soon as she went in to talk to Danielle to get the ring. I wasn't sure if I was going to do it here, or back in Hollywood, but I was doing it soon.

Dani set a spark off in my mind when she asked me to do this. I never want to lose Jasey, I want her to be mine. Completely. I don't care if we're only eighteen, this is what I want, and I know she'll want it too.

My feet slowly creaked up the stairs to Danielle's room, but instead of the usual silence, I heard sobbing.

Oh no.

I burst through the door to Danielle's room, and the sight broke my heart. Jasey was sobbing on the floor, her parents were hugging each other, and Colin had a lifeless Danielle in his arms. I immediately bolted to Jasey, forgetting the piece of metal in my pocket, and wrapped her in my arms. She clutched onto me for dear life. I felt myself start to cry, as I glanced at Colin sobbing uncontrollably.

I heard the same short bald nurse come into the room, and watched as he, and another guy pried Colin away from Danielle's body. They placed her on a stretcher, and Anne, Rick, and Colin followed. Jasey, and I stayed where we were. The room was completely silent except for both of our soft tears.

I stroked Jasey's long hair, and she burrowed herself deeper in my chest.

"When?" Was all I could manage to say.

"About twenty minutes ago." She croaked out.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you." I said kissing her forehead, slowly.

"It's okay." She said her tears still choking her voice. "Where did you go anyway?"

I let out a shaky breath, hearing the front door to the house slam shut. "Will you come with me somewhere? I'll tell you then."

"Anything to get out of this room, where are we going?" She asked.

"It's a suprise." I smiled softly at her, and she nodded, getting off of my lap, only to press in my side once we stood up. We walked down the stairs, and out of the front door.

Once we reached my car that my parents have been loaning us, I turned on the stereo, which was playing Without You by Motley Crüe. I backed out of Jasey's empty driveway, and drove off to one of my favorite places.

The cemetery I used to sit, and dream of the day I'd meet the girl I wanted to marry. It was a short drive only about ten minutes, and pretty soon she was smiling a bit, the moonlight illuminating her tears stained cheeks.

"This is familiar." She chuckled, as we both exited the car. I linked my hand with her's, feeling extremely nervous. I led her to the very same hill at the top of the cemetery, and we both sat down, she in my lap. We stayed like that for what seemed like hours, not talking, but thinking. I finally knew that it was now or never.

"You ready to go back babe?" I asked, my heart beating.

"Yeah." She said, and got off of my lap. She tried to advance forward, but I grabbed her hand to keep her from walking off. "What are you doing?" I exhaled, and bent down to one knee. Tears pricked to her eyes.

"Jaselyn Emma Ross, I have fallen in a beautiful, and real love with you." I said taking her hand. She gasped, and covered her mouth with her free hand, "I know we're only eighteen, and this is just the beginnning but I want to show you how much I love you, and that I truly do want to be with you forever." I reached in my pocket, and grabbed the black box, I had the ring resting in. I opened it up, and she stiffled a happy sob. "So how about, love? Will you marry me?"

"Yes." She said, crying.

"Really!?! Your serious!?" I said, and she nodded, as I stood up, and wrapped my arms around her. I slid the beautiful diamond ring on her finger right above the promise ring. She pulled me in for a kiss, and I felt my insides light with joy.

She was mine, all mine. For now and forever.
