Land Of The Lost

Lynnette Pov:

I was so lost…Just having three of the five guys in the room was enough to send me over the edge. The moment Ash entered the hospital room I knew what was wrong with me. I was crushing on three of my best friends. The thing was, I had no idea who I liked more. I turned away from CC, Jinxx and Ash to stare out the window as I let Jinxx re-bandage my leg.

“Did you even hear me?” I looked at Jinxx in question and cocked my head to the side.

“I’m sorry, what did you ask?”

Ash laughed and sat on the bed next to me. “Kitten, you really have got to learn to stay in this realm and focus on what people are saying to you.”

I tensed slightly when Ash sat next to me, I was pretty sure he attributed my stiffen to the fact that Jinxx was working on an injury of mine. “I said I was sorry, Jinxx what did you ask?”

“I asked if you wanted to talk about the idea you came up with or if you wanted to wait.”

“It’d be easier to tell everyone at once, but Andy and Jake are probably busy.” I moved forward a bit so Jinxx could check my ribs. “I think that most of our soldiers who were captured are being held in the center-most chamber. That’s where the torture chamber is as well…There are numerous cells throughout the prison building, but I think that most of the legion would be in the center.” A high-pitched whine escaped me as Jinxx put too much pressure on my broken rib. “Watch it will ya?!” I whispered/growled out as three of the lamps in the room shattered.

“I only tightened the bandage, stop being so dramatic.” Jinxx sighed and finished wrapping the broken rib and went to clean up the shattered glass. “So, what’s the plan you have then?”

“We send two groups, one will slip in and take out the main guards and open the prison doors. There’s five sets, so it’s going to be a risky task. The second group will obviously charge in and take out the shadow demons while the first group releases the legion members. Half of group one will lead the prisoners back to camp, and the rest of us will follow them at a slower pace, making sure that no shadow demons get the opportunity to attack them as soon as they get out.” I leaned back against the wall when I finished speaking and sighed. “You guys obviously know more about tactics and whatnot so I’ll leave the details up to you, but I think that my idea would work. We’d get everyone out in one go. At least in theory it works.”

“And say we went with your plan, you’re in no shape to help right now.” I glared at Ash as he spoke and sighed.

“I have to go, I’m the only one who can lead the first group into the building and into where we need to go.” I looked from Ash to CC hoping that he would be on my side.

“They’ve been in there for months Ash; I think they can hold out for another few weeks.”

“Guys, the ribs are going to take over a month to heal.”

“Jinxx, I’m not going to take no for an answer.”

“Then we wait until you’re fully healed before we go through with the rescue mission. None of us are going to go if we’re not in the best condition we can be in Lynx. Ash, you and CC hunt down Jake and start training everyone who is willing to go with us. Forty people at the most, twenty in each group. Also, ask Andy if he’s willing to take night patrols while I work with Lynx on magic.” Ash and CC nodded and left the room. Once we were alone Jinxx looked over at me, “Only those who are born with the ability can use magic. From everything we have found out, F.E.A.R can’t use magic.”

“But he can summon demons…isn’t that technically magic?”

“No, the only way he would be able to summon demons would be if he himself was a demon.”

“That…that explains a lot you know. I always felt like something was off about him…I think I always knew I wasn’t blood related. He never let me into the room with the spell books, or the books of mythology.”

“My guess, if you’re right is that he knew you’d turn against him if you found out what you really were.” I gave Jinxx a confused look, but instead of answering right away, he went over to the desk in the room. “Lynx, you are a descendant of the Fallen, just as we are.”
