Days Are Numbered

The amount of preparation Andy had put into the date had went smoothly so far. The country park he had somehow managed to make sure was empty, was deserted aside from the few cars he hoped would be there. He had recruited some of his friends and band members to help out in today's plans.

''Are we there yet?'' Leia was growing restless of not being able to see and had started fiddling, moving her head in every direction possible, trying her hardest to peek through the dark fabric.

''Stop that, no cheating! We're almost there. Hold on two seconds ok?'' Andy couldn't help but chuckle. she was so adorable. Leia slumped in her seat and reluctantly nodded her head, giving in.

No more than a mile down the road, the forest opened up, revealing a clearing. This clearing was usually abandoned, favored by photographers for its isolated beauty and incredible lighting, but not today. The clearing was occupied by a red and white patched blanket, a picnic basket full to the brim with candy, fizzy drinks and more strawberries than anybody could ever eat. Andy had took into consideration everything he knew about Leia. Especially her love for beauty, photography, classical music and strawberries. This would be a date that Leia would never forget.

The car eventually came to a stop and Leia breathed a sigh of relief, reaching to final escape the dark tomb she had been forced to endure.

''Uh uh, not yet. Sit tight sweetheart, i'm coming round'' Humor laced Andy's voice as Leia slumped back into her chair. The only bonus of not being able to see was the smell of the bandanna covering most of her face. Mint and Cigarettes, just like Andy.

The car door opened and Andy clasped her hand, helping her out of the car. Keeping a tight hold of her, he began to guided her through the trees. Leia never wanted him to let go. Just touching Andy sent her mind reeling. It was like the purest drug, sending her into a sweet ecstasy. If this was what him touching her felt like, she couldn't even imagine how it would feel to have his lips on hers... Suddenly her hand felt cold.

''Lee, you can take the blind fold off now'' Andy's voice was a soft whisper in her ear and then it was gone.

Slowly she started to untie the material and let it fall to the floor, swiftly catching it before it made contact with the grassy turf. She was standing in a circle of grass surrounded on every side by soaring trees, a canopy of green protecting the secluded area from harsh sunlight. At the tree bases were tea lights, illuminating the dull area. In the center of the clearing sat a picnic hamper and next too it stood the stunning man who had done all this.

Her feet began to move with such urgency and within seconds she was in his arms. A soft thanks left her lips as she buried herself deeper into his neck.

''Anything for you beautiful'' His breath fluttered by her ear sending tremors down her spine. The elegant and peaceful sounds of a violin drew Leia's concentration, as she turned her head she noticed a man in a black suit, his long black hair tied back into a ponytail, focusing solely on the precious instrument between his fingers.

''That's Jinxx, he's in the band. I know you love classical music so I asked him to help out'' Leia felt every one of Andy's words vibrate against the top of her head. He really went all out for today, never had anyone been so considerate of her feelings.

''You really didn't have to do all this, I would have been fine with a film or...'' Andy cut her off.
''I wanted to do this, ok? You deserve to be treated like a princess'' His arms tightened their grip for a slight second then he was gone. Making his way to the picnic blanket, he motioned for Leia to follow, the sound of Jinxx's violin playing softly in the background.

The romantic atmosphere should have been uncomfortable but Leia had never felt more content in her life. The soothing music oozed through the clearing, the sun began to fade and the candles began to flicker. By now the strawberries were all gone, the multiple cans of fizzy juice had been drunk and they were surrounded by candy wrappers. Andy sat up right, leaning back on his arms with his legs extended. Leia lay across the cloth with her head resting on Andy's gazelle like legs. Both were shaking with laughter at a story Andy had just told.

''Seriously? You ate paper!? Why the hell would you do that?'' Leia was now snorting with laughter.

''I have no idea, I sometimes just get the urge... you can't always fight it! You should watch the Bryan Stars interviews i'm in, I eat paper and just be an incredibly witty gentleman'' Jinxx had even joined in laughing now, even though he'd been witness to this plenty of times. The three spent the next 10 minutes in stitches of laughter, no one could even get a word out.

The rest of the date went by with the same amount of entertainment, Jinxx had joined them after a few hours of playing. He deserved a break from his flawless playing that he had focused on for so long. Filling them in on some stories of his own.

''Well I better go, I promised Sammi i wouldn't be too late home, enjoy the rest of your night. It was lovely meeting you Leia, hopefully i'll see you again soon'' Bidding a fond farewell to the two, Jinxx departed. A comfortable silence filled the clearing as the two lay side by side, each smoking cigarettes. Andy's finger slid into the voids between Leia's. She was icy cold. Shrugging his jacket off, Andy handed it to Leia.

''No, i'm fine seriously. Keep your jacket or you'll get cold!'' A look of worry was spread over her delicate features.

''I would rather you be warm than me. I'm a man anyway, real men don't wear jackets!'' He scoffed and puffed his chest out. Reluctantly Leia secured the leather jacket over her own, the smell of cigarettes and mint overwhelming her senses.

''Are you sure you're a real man? You don't exactly look like a real man. You wear more makeup than I do... Ahhh'' Andy gently pushed Leia over and she rolled on the floor laughing. The two rolled around the blanket play fighting for a few minutes before Andy had Leia pinned to the ground. Each of his knees on either side of her body. The laughter died down, their eyes connected and Andy's head came closer and closer until their lips were centimeters away.

''Andy stop, not yet. Too soon'' Leia's hands stopped Andy moving any closer. His head dropped into the crook of her neck and he let out a deep sigh. His breath sending shivers throughout her body. Why did she have to say no!?

''Yeah i'm sorry, you're right. I should have thought. Come on honey, let's go. It's getting kinda late, I'll drop you off home'' Andy jumped to his feet, stretching his limbs, a lit cigarette hanging from his mouth. He extended his left hand to Leia and pulled her off the ground, catching her in his warm embrace.

''So, have I done enough to get your number? Or do I need to come up with an even better date?'' Swinging slightly from side to side, he hugged her close, breathing in her cigarettes and cinnamon scent.

''Hmm, well for effort you get a solid 10, so I think you've worked hard enough for it'' A light chuckle shook through Andy's body. Taking her own phone and handing it to Andy, then taking his, they inserted their numbers.

With joint hands, they made their way home.
