Angels and Saviors and Whatnot

"ALLISON GET YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE!! IT'S TIME FOR THE BIRTHDAY GIRL TO GET HER BIRTHDAY GIFTS." Sandy screamed.

"ALL RIGHT, JESUS, I'M COMING!" I screamed back.

"THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID," I heard Ashley scream.

I hurried downstairs after looking over my now fading bruises and saw everyone crowded around my coffee table with little gift bags full of tissue paper.

Today is my birthday, the 22nd of December, born in 1996. I turn 17 today, and my father was out on another drinking binge. As I walked into my living room, I noticed a big box wrapped up with a bright big red bow.

"That one's mine. You hafta open that one last," Andy said with a big smile.

"Alrighty then," I said sitting next to Jinxx and Jake.

"OPEN MINE FIRST," Ashley said grinning. He shoved a bag into my hand and I cleared out all the tissue paper, revealing a purple bra and matching panties.

"Pervert," I said under my breath. He smiled and crossed his arms.

"Mine next," Jake said. He handed me a small bag with silver streamers on the front and smiled slightly. I opened the bag and took out a small gold charm bracelet with 6 blue and purple charms on it. J A J A S and another A.

"For all of us," He said .

"Oh, Jake, I love it!" I said, hugging him.

"Meeeee," Jinxx said, handing me a small box. I smiled at him and opened it to find a pair of earrings, one was a lightning bolt, the other was a star.

"Thank you Jinxx, these are awesome!" I said, giving him a quick hug too.

"Mine next you fag," Sandy said grinning like a mad man. She smiled and handed me the bag she was holding. I opened it to find a Batman shirt and belt, and a Batman necklace with matching earrings.

"Thank you so much Sandy!" I said hugging her and she smiled triumphantly.

"Alright Andy what's in the box?" I asked. I looked at him and saw him wink at the others. I looked at them and saw that they all had big smiled plastered on their faces.

"What?"

"Open the box Alli!" Jinxx practically screamed. Jake started bouncing up and down like a kid on Christmas and Ashley and Sandy looked really excited. I slowly turned around and walked cautiously over to the big cardboard box. I heard something moving around and scratching at the box and I snapped my head up in Andy's direction.

"What the fuck is in this box?" I asked. He just smiled deviously.

"JUST FUCKING OPEN IT!" Everybody behind me yelled.

I took the bow off the box and placed it beside me and opened the lid slowly. I looked inside and gasped.

Inside the box was a small kitten, chasing her tail. It was black and white and looked like an Oreo cookie. The kitten had bright blue eyes and reminded me of Andy's baby blues.

"Andy!!!!" I squealed, picking the kitten up. It started purring and rubbing it's tiny wet nose all over my face.

"Andy this is the best present ever, ohmygosh!" I was oozing with excitement and I held the kitten close to my chest. Something then dawned on me. I lifted the kitten so it's stomach was in front of my face.

"Girl," I said, then cradled it to my chest again. She was still purring but she was squirming to be let loose. I put her back into the box so she wouldn't get out, not yet anyways, and I ran to hug Andy.

"Thank you so much!" I couldn't stop smiling, he truly is amazing.

"I have something to ask you Allison," he said, seriously.

"What is it?" I asked, worried.

"I...I...uhm Alli...I like you a-and" he stuttered. "Will you be my girlfriend?" he finally blurted out.

I looked around and then realized what I was missing out on. This boy has given me everything I could ever want. He made me stop crying after my father had beaten me, he sang to me when I had panic attacks, he made sure I stopped getting bullied at school on a daily basis. He made sure I was happy.

And I couldn't turn that down. I looked up into his baby blue eyes and said, "Yes, Andy, I will be your girlfriend."

Sandra, Ashley, Jinxx and Jake started clapping and cheering as Andy leaned down and kissed me for the 50 billionth time since he met me. Kinda weird right? We weren't even together and we'e kissed...a lot. But he was finally mine. And I was kinda irritated with myself for waiting so long.

"FINALLY!" Sandra said. Andy smiled down at me and said "Now, princess, I'd like to go on a date. What about you?"

"Andy, I told you, my father needs to be in jail before we can officially 'date'." I put air quotations around the word date and Jinxx stood up.

"Alli, my dad is a cop. If we can get documented evidence of his actions towards you, he can go to jail for 25 years, maybe even 40."

"So...you mean...he has to beat me...again, in order to make him go away?" I asked slowly.

"It's just one more time, Alli, please, according to my dad, it's the only way physically possible," Jinxx said, placing a hand on my shoulder. I buried my face into Andy's chest and let some tears fall. I am NOT fully crying on MY birthday. That, Mr. Man, is not happening.

"Alright, just one last time," I said softly.

"Just one last time," Andy said, rubbing my back reassuringly. I took a deep breath and wiped away the tears.

"Alright peoples, let's plan this sabotage." I said proudly. I picked up my new kitten whom I had decided to name Oreo and cuddled her into my neck. I was ready for this. I was ready for my father to go to jail for what he had done. I was more than ready. And I couldn't wait to see the look on his face when that finally happened.
