They WILL Be Unbroken

-Kai's POV-
I could feel a flashback coming. I stood and started moving towards the gate, staggering slightly. I pulled out my phone and speed dialed my home. Josh picked up after second ring.
"Kai?"
"Cemetery. Help." Was all I managed before sinking down into dreams of fire.
-Josh's POV-
I was making out with CC on the couch when the phone rang. I wanted to ignore it but I was on phone duty for The Plan. I lifted the phone from the cradle and checked the number.
"Kai?"
"Cemetery. Help." Kai gasped through the phone, then I heard a thump and Kai's phone automatically hung up.
"Shit." I muttered, "We have to go find Kai. Jinxx, Andy come on, Kai's in trouble!" I shouted through the house. "Jake, I'm sorry but you have to stay on Email duty."
"Alright, but whats going on?" Jake frowned.
"There's no time, we have to get to her ASAP." I was panicking.
"Josh, breathe." I felt CC's hand gently stoke my hair, " I don't know whats happening, but you can't help her like this." I calmed down.
"You're right. But we need to go, we'll take my car."
"I'll drive your still too panicky." CC suggested.
"Alright, I'll have to sit n front though, cause I need to give you directions. Is that alright Andy?"
"Whatever gets us to her fastest." He replied with a grim worried look on his face.
"Let's go then."
-Kai's POV-
Flashback
I hated the box. It was small and dark and scary. But I had been a bad girl, cutting my own hair in a way that wasn't holy. I sniffled, and an odd smell caught my nose, like the church when everyone had their candles, but much stronger. I heard shouting and crying, and wondered what was going on. It was hot. Too hot. i coughed and the smell of smoke became stronger. I struggled for breath, barley gasping a lungful, and having to expel it quickly. I couldn't breathe, it was too hot and smoky. I was scared. My legs gave out from under me and I collapsed on the floor, my head awkwardly bent up in the confined space. My last thoughts as my mind faded into dark was a soft voice whispering in my ear. "Don't be afraid"
End of flashback
-Josh's POV-
We arrived at the cemetery at last, and I told people which parts to search. I took the pat closest to Thomas' grave because I knew the area well, and I wanted to avoid Jane's grave, she had our mother's last name and I had my father's, one of the ways no-one knew we were related at school. I kept searching for Kai, she would probably be around here somewhere, my phone buzzed.
Andy- Found her near biggest tree on hill. Know it? can i touch her, shes kinda freaking out.
Me- know it. dont touch her. she might lash out
Andy- K
-Andy's POV-
I searched the area Josh had given me thoroughly. I didn't really care if it took longer, I didn't want to miss Kai. I found a huge tree that looked hundreds of years old. Distracted my the beautiful sight, I almost tripped over a small huddled, whimpering Kai.
"Shit. Kai? Kai, it's alright, it's me." I reached out to touch her and she opened her eyes and mouth wide as she lashed out to punch. The strike was wild and uncoordinated so I dodged it easily. I pulled out my phone and texted Josh, telling him where we were, and if I shouldn't touch her, I'd already sort of figured it out, but wanted to be sure. I settled down near Kai and waited for the others.
-Kai's POV-
Flashback
I grabbed the bun and ran down an alley. Holding my treasure to my chest like it was a lifeline.
"Well well well. What have we here?" A wheezy voice laughed.
"It looks like a little street rat." Another replied.
"I miss beating street rats, don't you Akil?" I snorted at the name meaning intelligent for the evidently not so intelligent man.
"The little rat laughed, you hear that, Dakari?"
"Yeah, wonder if it screams too." Dakari sneered.
"Ooh, it's a girl Dakari, didn't realize that!"
"I miss girls." Akil commented
"Being at sea does that to you, ey Hamadi." I started to realize my danger, and what they where discussing. My eyes darted to the alley, but Hamadi had blocked it. Dakari pulled out a knife.
"Now little girl you won't make a sound, got it?"I nodded, wide eyed. And I didn't.

-Josh's POV-
When I arrived, I found Kai, still trapped in the past, huddled in Andy's arms sobbing silently, but hysterically, into his chest.
Andy raised his head and smiled stiffly. "I told the CC and Jinxx to meet us at the front. I nodded and Andy gathered Kai up into his arms.
"How is she letting you touch her, much less carry her!"
He smiled down at her, a little calmer already, "I don't know, I knew I had to protect her, i just wanted to look after her, so I tried again, and this time she let me hold her." He sighed, "let's get her home.
