Imagine Me and You

“Listen to them-children of the night. What music they make…” Dannie giggled as Ashley’s lips tickled the skin of her neck and she was having a really hard time paying attention to the movie. All of the guys, herself and Dess were on the bus, traveling from one state to the next and they had decided to have a movie night.


It had taken a few tries to figure out which movie to put in-Dess and Andy both voted for Batman and were quickly vetoed-but they had all finally agreed that with the creepy fog outside, Dracula was an appropriate choice. She was sitting on the couch in the back lounge, half way on Ashley’s lap and halfway off, with Dess sitting to her left and Andy was behind Dess. The other guys were all lounging on the floor, popcorn, candy and beer bottles spread around them like a messy blanket. Dannie’s long blonde hair was piled up on top of her head, giving Ashley perfect access to the ticklish skin of her neck.

He kept distracting her, something that made her laugh but also irritated her slightly. She loved this movie-1931 Dracula was the best film out of every single Dracula movie and Dannie wanted to watch it. She reached down in to her lap, pulling out a Twizzler from the bag and quickly she began to chew on the end of it. Ashley was now running his fingers over her black skinny jean clad legs and even though she was wearing a baggy grey sweater, Dannie still found herself shivering. Ash’s lips were against her skin again and Dannie sighed happily, her eyes closing slightly until she noticed that CC had turned around and was glaring at the two of them.


“Look, I get that you two are really into one another-but knock it off!” He laughed as he tossed a piece of popcorn their way and it hit Dannie on the nose softly. She laughed, sticking her tongue out as she looked towards the screen once again.

“You know you and I could go to the bunk and make some beautiful music of our own…” Ashley whispered into her ear and Dannie shivered again. She looked over her shoulder and noticed that Dess was desperately trying to keep her laughter in and quickly Dannie tossed a skittle at the smirking blonde.

“Really?! You can’t keep it in your pants for 90 minutes Ash?” CC had turned back around, his smirk wide and his brown eyes were playful. The guys liked to give the new couple shit for always hanging on one another, but Dannie-thankfully-was able to give it right back…times ten.

“Don’t be jealous just because Ash has someone like me and you’re left with a bag of popcorn at the end of the night C…” She stuck her tongue out at him again and Ashley laughed beneath her as he took a swig from his beer.


This movie night had come about when they had all been sitting around, drinking some beers and taking shots after a show and found that they all wanted to chill out. Ashley had suggested Truth or Dare, but the last game had resulted in CC being naked and out in the snow-so that was quickly shot down. Dess suggested a movie in the back, with Andy quickly saying he could find his Batman Collection and they could have a Marathon. Everyone groaned at this and the Bat obsessed couple only smirked at one another and relented. Finally Dannie suggested Dracula-being a huge fan of the classic and it never failed to please. Now they were all sitting in the back, half watching the movie and half teasing one another mercilessly.


“I mean you could warm my bed anytime you want D…” CC stuck his tongue out at her in turn and Dannie only rolled her eyes at the drummer.

“Watch it…” Ashley growled playfully as he took a hand full of popcorn and shoved it down the back of CC’s shirt. The drummer only yowled as the tiny pieces scratched at his back and everyone laughed. The laughter was soon interrupted by a familiar voice, singing out in the most obnoxious way possible.

“Hey we said no phones!” Jinxx laughed as Dannie blushed and quickly reached into her pocket to shut the still singing phone off. She had forgotten that it was in her pocket and as Dannie turned everything to silent, she couldn’t help but catch Andy’s eye.


He knew of her hardships in life and he respected her ability to rise above everything. He also knew that his words in Savior had been a comfort to the girl during those times and he was always happy to be of help. Everyone’s concentration was back on the movie-except Ashley’s, who was still kissing and licking at Dannie’s exposed neck. She giggled as he bit down on her soft flesh-just as Dracula did the same to an unsuspecting girl on the screen. Jake and CC both groaned as they looked back at the couple and soon enough more popcorn was being thrown their way.

Dannie just stared down at the two troublemakers at her feet, her blue green eyes wide and filled with a devious look. She reached down into her bag of Skittles, pulling out a hand full and then she began to toss them at the back of CC’s head. The drummer had turned around, focusing back on the movie, until he suddenly felt something tiny and hard ping off of the back of his head.

He whipped his head around, glaring at Dannie, but she looked so angelic sitting there, her bright eyes taking in the screen that he quickly looked towards Dess. The two of them had had a prank war last year and if she was trying to start something again…she was gonna lose.


“Dess-throw more shit my way and you’ll regret it…” CC said, his voice playful as he tossed a handful of popcorn towards the blonde and she only looked at him wide eyed. The popcorn, while hitting her, also hit Andy in the face slightly and the singer did not look amused.

“Dude!” More popcorn was flying through the air, this time missing CC entirely and now there were bits of yellow and white sticking to Jinxx’s pure black locks.

“Why?!” The guitarist asked as he moved to sit up on his knees and tossed a handful of Junior Mints at the couple sitting on the couch. A few went down Dannie’s bra and she just laughed as Ashley stuck a hand down her shirt to fish them out.

“I didn’t throw anything at you!” Dess shouted as CC tossed more popcorn at her and Andy moved to try and shield her from the oncoming attack.

“Food fight!” Dannie yelled, laughing loudly as she dumped the entire bowl of popcorn over Jake’s head and tried to dodge around the Junior Mints that were still being tossed her way.


The movie had been forgotten as everyone was now tossing whatever they could at one another. Popcorn, Skittles, Junior Mints, Twizzlers, M&M’s and so much more were flying through the air. Everyone was covered in popcorn dust and fake butter-Dess had somehow gotten chocolate smeared on her nose and Ashley was still trying to dig down Dannie’s shirt for more ammo.

Jake and Jinxx were picking up things off of the floor, which was now covered in snackfood debris, and tossing them at the couples and at CC. The drummer was now on his feet, a bowl of popcorn in one hand as his other tossed handfuls around the room. Everyone was laughing and carrying on, the movie obviously playing loudly in the background, that none of them noticed the person standing in the doorway.


“What the HELL are you doing?!” Jon shouted at them all and everyone froze as they looked towards the door. Dannie had her hand in the air, a fist full of Skittles ready to strike; Ashley still had a hand down her shirt, while his other was holding his beer. Dess and Andy were both cowering against one side of the couch, Andy with his arms around her shoulders while Dess just stared at the manager wide eyed. Jake, Jinxx and CC all had stopped throwing food and were now staring at the menacing manager in front of them.

“Having a food fight?” Dannie smirked as she tossed her Skittles at the short man before them all and everyone laughed and followed her lead. Soon enough Jon was just as covered in food debris as the rest of them, having not been fast enough to run away.


They were all left alone in the back, continuing their food fight gleefully with the promise that they would clean it up in the morning. Dannie hadn’t had this much fun in a long time and as she looked around she was glad that this was her family…for better or for worse…
