My Outlaw

Two years later
"Alba Marie Purdy! Stop picking on your brother!" My daughter, Alba, looked down sheepish. This one and a half year old and her brother were a handful. She takes after her father, the almond shaped brown eyes that just seem to draw you in, and her little personality defiantly screamed 'Ashley Purdy!' Her brother on the other hand...
"Whats up little man?" Ashley ruffled Eric's brown hair. Eric looked like a mixture of both of us, but had my shy personality. He smiled at his dad, and I wiped the tears from his eyes.
"Alba was picking on me, but mommy yelled at her." Ashley looked at me.
"What happened?" I threw up my hands.
"I don't know. They were talking in their own little language and then he just burst out crying!" Ashley shrugged.
"Twins. What are you gunna do?" I shrugged back. Alba started to tug on my sleeve. I looked down at her.
"Can Eric and I go outside?" I took a deep breath.
"Yeah. But be careful!" It was no use. They were already out the back door. I sighed and walked over to Ashley. He wrapped his arms around me and I looked in his face.
"Your a good mom, you know that?" I sighed.
"I'm trying my best. Never really had a mom. Your a good dad, you know that?" He smiled.
"Trying my best, too." He leaned down and kissed me.
My life had finailly come together.
And to think,
It had all started with a concert, a backstage pass, and a kiss.

I love the ending though.
When I first began this story with 'I never expected this...' I knew this is how I wanted it to end.
