Love Isn't Always Fair
Chapter 10
Destinee's POV
His words echo in my mind, but the voice is not Ashley's, it's Andy's. My eyes start to tear up.
"Please, don't say that." I say, my voice cracking. Ashley holds my face, forcing me to look at him.
"I have to tell you how I feel Destinee. I have really strong feelings for you, I know you're the one I've been waiting for, the one I want to be with." Holding his hands to take them off my face, I look away and break into tears.
"Ashley, I'm s-so sorry, but I-I'm not the one. Please, j-just stop." He squeezes my hands,
"Destinee, stop crying. Don't be sorry for my feelings. I'm sorry that I made you feel this way, I just thought you might have the same feelings..." His voice trails on as I cry harder.
"That's the p-problem Ashley! I think I d-do love you." I look up at him and his eye browns are furrowed, I close my eyes. "It's just, t-there's someone else." He loosens his grip on me immediately and runs his hand through his hair, my heart begins to race. I brace myself for his reaction.
"Oh, okay. I'm sorry, I think I should head back to the bus. I've been gone for a while." I nod and I take a quick glance at his face, heartbroken. He gets up, grabs his phone off the couch and opens the door. He turns to me one last time,
"See ya Destinee." I reply still sitting in the floor.
"Bye Ashley."
Ashley's POV
The elevator door closes and I let myself cry. Why would she allow me to believe she liked me if there was someone else? Why lead me on? I was stupid enough to think I might be in love. I wipe my eyes with the palm of my hand and put on my shades as the elevator comes to a stop. I walk to the bus and CC waves at me from the door of the bus.
"Come on lover boy, about time you two made it down here!" Two? I turn around and see Destinee somehow caught up to me. She waves to me and I nod in acknowledgement. She jogs to catch up to me and she rubs my back as we walk next to each other.
"You okay?" She whispers to me, I pick up my pace to get away from her before my emotions take the best of me,
"Yeah just peachy." I say a little to harshly and walk in the bus.
"Hey guys" I say as I walk to my bed. I take of my shades, kick off my shoes and lay down. I let a tear roll off the tip of my nose. Will I ever find love?
Andy's POV
"Hey Des!" I stand up and hug her, putting my nose into her hair.
"Hey Andrew." She replies wrapping her arms around my waist. "Did you save me a bed?" I play with her hair with one hand.
"About that, I forgot we have exactly five beds, but you can hang with me tonight." She smiles,
"I'd like that." Our manager interrupts us,
"Okay guys, Jinxx, CC, Jake, Andy. Four, why am I counting four where's Ashley?"
"Over here." Ashley mutters from the back of the bus. Our manager turns to Destinee.
"And who the hell are you?" She shifts uncomfortably, I answer for her.
"Her name's Destinee, we're taking her to New York with us." He runs his hand over his face in frustration,
"You guys are killing me you know that?" He turns to Destinee. "Just stay out the way okay?" She nods. "I'll meet you guys in New York,"
"Bye." We all say in unison. He turns and storms off the bus.
"What was that about?" Destinee asks, I put my arm around her and rub her shoulder.
"Ahh, he shows affection by being a douche, don't worry about it." Jinxx says.
"Yeah I've never seen that guy smile, but let's get some sleep we're in New York tomorrow." Jake says while stretching. CC stands up and waves, "Yea goodnight guys," he says while walking to the back where him and Ashley sleep.
"Night," Jinxx says. All the guys make their way to their beds as the bus begins to move. Me and Destinee and the only ones left,
"Wanna lay down?"
"Yeah, I'm pretty tired." I lead her to my bed and help her up into it. I slide in next to her, her back against my chest and my hand wrapped around her waist.
"We'll be in New York by tomorrow, I'm going to miss you Destinee."
"I'm going to miss you too Andrew."
"You've changed my life in the few days we've spent together. I'll never forget you, my first love." I close my eyes and let my lips brush against her cheek as I whisper, "I love you." I few moment past and she finally says,
"I love you too." Her voice sounds as if she's crying, probably because she doesn't wasn't to leave yet. I close my eyes and let myself drift off into sleep, dreaming of us.
Destinee's POV
I try to hide my tears, but my voice gives it away. Andy loves me, Ashley loves me. I absolutely adore both of them but I'm not sure if I love any of them. I don't know what or who I want. We're going to New York, I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do when I get there. I have no friends, and no family there. All I have is $300.000 and a suitcase.
