We're Setting Worlds On Fire

Four Corners-Four Elements

Lily moved around the small apartment that she had been sharing with Andy, Michael, Jinxx and Sammi and the Angel could feel the blood boiling in her veins. Sammi-sweet and loving Sammi-was refusing to listen to her or Jinxx, who was finally on American soil after their earthquake scare in Japan, and it was making Lily irritated. She and Michael had rushed through the door, breathless and windswept and found both Sammi and Ella sitting on the couch, huddled together as the news played.

They jumped on the two Angels, asking if the guys were okay, where were they and what was going on? Lily couldn’t lie and so she quickly explained all that they knew-the earthquake was caused by Satan, who was now roaming around the streets of LA and that the two girls needed to find an elsewhere to be. It didn’t matter where they went-they needed to get the fuck out of town as soon as possible.

That was when Jinxx had called-apparently someone was able to get a signal on their cell phone-and as he spoke to Sammi, the blonde’s face grew more and more determined. They were getting on a plane, due back in the states the next day, but he and Jake both wanted Sam and Ella to get out of LA…to get out of California all together. Sammi refused, Ella backing her up and that’s when Lily got on the phone.

Jinxx begged Lily to mind control the two girls, but the Angel explained that it drained her too much to do that and they couldn’t risk Lily not being at full strength. Now the two Angels and the two human girls were rushing around, grabbing weapons from their hidden stashes and trying to ready everything for the coming war. Lily turned to Michael, who was on his knees reaching under the couches to pull out swords and she smiled.

“I guess we’ll find out if that training paid off after all.” Lily said and Michael only smirked at her from over his shoulder, his black shirt rumpled and covered in dust. The two of them knew that this was it-they could feel the vibrations in their bones and they only hoped they could make it to the epicenter before things got worse.

“You ready for this?” Michael asked as he stood, dusting off his knees and butt as he looked to his best friend. Lily had her hair pulled back in a tight ponytail and her eyes were on fire as she looked at him. They needed to move-they needed to head to the strip as they had a feeling that that was where Satan had emerged and was hiding out.

“I was born ready. We need to get out there though-do we need anything?” Lily asked as she stuck a dagger down the side of her boot and then placed another one in a side pocket of her tight leather jacket. Both Angels had formed leather outfits-it was better protection than cloth-and Lily was suddenly reminded of the last battle that she fought.

“Nope, I’ve got everything. Where are the girls?” Michael asked as he too slipped on his leather jacket and looked over Lily’s shoulder. Sammi and Ella were walking out from the back, their faces determined and they looked like they were ready to go somewhere.

“Right here.” Sammi said as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked from Lily to Michael. The other blonde was dressed for a fight-thick soled boots, jeans with no holes in them and she had a jacket slung over one shoulder. Lily noticed that Ella looked the same and the Angel felt her heart stop-these girls didn’t actually expect to come with…did they?

“Good. Stay here, hold down the fort and wait for the guys.” Lily said as she smiled at her friends and then followed Michael off towards the front door. Lily stopped though as she felt a hand land on her arm and she knew Sammi was behind her.

Lily looked at the girl standing there and she could see in Sammi’s eyes that there would be no discussion-Sam and Ella were coming a long and that was final. Lily knew that the last time a battle had been waged that Sam and Ella had left town and both girls had regretted it. Coming home to find out that one of your closest friends was dead, you boyfriend had almost lost an arm and that Satan was still out there-well it had been hard for the two girls.

Lily had watched from Heaven as Jinxx told Sammi what had happened and she had watched as the blonde crumpled to the floor and sobbed for over an hour. Her funeral-which was also strange to watch-had been rough as Sam and Ella had hardly been able to function in the days leading up to it.

Lily looked over her shoulder towards Michael, who was standing in the open doorway and tapping a boot clad foot against the pavement. They weren’t going to do any battling right now-that would come in a days time when the guys were back and fully ready. No-Lily and Michael had planned on just going to the Strip, which was where they were sure Satan was hiding out, and laying down some barriers.

The barriers were important because it would keep all things Demonic and nasty in place until everyone could come together and fight until the end. Lily knew though that even this could be dangerous-there was no telling what they would run into or what could happen, but Sammi just sighed and pushed past Lily and Ella soon followed with a gently smirk on her lips.

Lily said nothing as the small group took off down the steps of the apartment building and as she walked Lily noticed that the sky was a light blue without a cloud in the sky. This was it-this was the calm before the shit hit the fan and she knew it was only a matter of time before everything went to Hell-literally. Her boots clapped against the sidewalk, but Lily was concentrating on the phone she now held in her hands and Michael only smirked at her as they all walked along. Lily knew that she needed to send out the call to the Army-give them time to prepare and gather to LA from all over the country and world. It was amazing how these kids-most of them teenagers-were willing to lay their lives on the line for a group of five guys who spoke to them like no one else.

“Sending out the call?” Michael asked as they rounded the corner and Lily only smiled as she quickly logged on to Andy’s Twitter-he had given her the password-and sent out the same message on there that she had on her own.

“We need to. The guys will be home tonight and Tommy said we could use the parking lot tomorrow for the meet up. That gives the kids time to try and get here from wherever.” Lily said as she looked up and their lavender eyes locked. Michael knew that this could be the end-they could both perish in this battle and he was only hoping that some Divine Calvary was on its way.

“What were you thinking for the meet up?” Michael asked as they all were stopped at a stop light and waiting for the cross walk. Lily bit down on her lip-she wanted the guys to speak, but she also knew that the fans would be more motivated if they also played a few songs.

“A small stage-something intimate-and the guys all speak, rallying the group together and then have it set up so that they play a few songs before we all leave to head to wherever these fucking things are hiding out.” Lily said as they crossed over the pavement and then Michael held out a hand to stop her. Lily looked at him, but then she noticed where his lavender eyes were trained and she followed his gaze. Immediately her heart stopped as she processed what she was seeing.

The sky was a beautiful blue, everywhere else except for right over the Strip. There the sky was an ominous gray, with swirling black clouds and it was all hanging over an abandoned building that had once been a club. Lily could see things-only she and Michael could see them right now-crawling around on the ground, flying through the air and stalking the people who were walking past them on the sidewalk. Black eyed Hybrids were everywhere and Lily knew they would have to be very careful to blend in and keep from being seen. Quickly she placed a hand on Sammi’s shoulder and then ushered the two girls down the street slightly.

They stayed as silent as possible and Lily could tell that Sammi and Ella were scared, but the two humans followed behind the two Angels as they finally reached the first corner of the Strip. While no one was looking Lily quickly formed something from her hands and Sammi noticed that it looked like a small blue crystal. It had a liquid appearance to it and as Lily set it down on the windowsill of a closed shop, Sammi noticed that the crystal seemed to vibrate, growing bluer before completely vanishing. Michael smiled as they moved on and both Angels could feel the change in the air. This would hold off anything nasty for at least two days and as they made it to another corner, Lily began to rub her hands together once more.

This time a brown crystal with small vines growing out of it had appeared and as Lily set it down on a doorstep, the group watched as the vines began to spread out over the sidewalk and then something happened. A few people walking past were suddenly moving far away from the Strip. Their shopping forgotten, Lily knew that they needed to make sure that no humans were left in the area or else they would be trapped with everything else inside. The group watched as shop owners closed up, claiming to one another as they moved down the street that they were needed at home and had to close early. Lily took a deep breath-the last two corners were going to be the most difficult because soon they were going to be noticed.

Quietly as possible they walked around a few buildings, lightning and thunder crashing around them as they walked and finally Michael stopped at a small grassy area and began to blow into his out stretched hands. A clear crystal, with some cloudiness near the middle, was sitting in his palm and as soon as Michael tossed it into the air it evaporated into nothing. There was electricity in the air and Lily could tell that both Sammi and Ella were fighting the urge to run away. It wasn’t because of their fear-it was because the charms were working and telling them that they needed to get as far away from this area as possible. Lily followed Michael, but they both stopped as they came across a group of four Hybrids-their black eyes staring the group down and Lily knew…they had been found out.

“Well, well-look who’s on the wrong side of town.” One of them, a small girl with bright pink hair, snarled as the group converged on the Angels and Lily only growled lowly.

“Two Angels and a couple of humans…what are you naughty kids up to?” Another Hybrid asked, his red hair falling in his eyes and Lily sucked in a breath. They needed to move…they needed to get the last crystal in place or else everything was going to be ruined.

“Just some light shopping…oh and we’re here to contain your Demonic asses! Run Lily!” Michael shouted as he ran at the group of Hybrids that were blocking their path and Lily ran like her life depended on it.

“Sam! Ella! You guys need to get out of here now!” Lily called from over her shoulder and she only hoped that the two stubborn girls would listen to her and vanish.

Lily didn’t stop to see if the girls had actually heard her or if they were listening-she needed to get down the street and to the last corner before anyone escaped. Lily felt her boots clapping against the sidewalk, but she could also hear another set of boots and as she quickly looked over her shoulder she felt her eyes grow wide. Three of the Hybrids were running after her, their faces set in fierce scowls as they chased her and yet Lily could feel that she was going to make it.

As she ran she began to rub her hands together, the heat a small comfort as the final crystal formed in her hands and she looked down at it. The last element and the most powerful-Fire-the red and orange crystal was sitting in the palm of her hand and as Lily finally noticed that she was almost there she could feel someone gaining on her.

Just as a pair of arms wrapped around her waist and she fell to the ground, Lily knew that the deed had been done. The arms around her loosened and as she crawled across the sidewalk on her stomach and looked off towards the final corner she couldn’t keep the smirk from her lips. There was a small fire sitting there, energy radiating off of it slightly and as Lily finally was able to get to her feet she looked around.

There was a shimmering force field wrapped around the entire Strip and Michael, along with Sam and Ella, was walking towards her with a wide smirk on his lips. Lily looked in front of her, seeing that the Hybrids were all gathering right in front of them, pounding and pushing on the force field with no luck of breaking through. This was powerful Divine magic and nothing was going to break it.

“This isn’t over Angel!” The red headed Hybrid shouted at her and Lily only smiled as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked at them all. They were like animals-scratching and screaming as they were zapped by the force field and yet they were still going at it.

“I know it’s not over…it’s far from over.” Lily said as she turned around, smiling as Michael tossed an arm around her shoulders and the small group began to head back home. There was so much to do and Lily found that she couldn’t wait until she saw Andy again.

“That was some fast running you did there Lily.” Michael said as they crossed the street and noticed that humans who had been heading towards the Strip were turning around, confused looks on their faces.

“Yeah well it had to be done. Now it’s time to head back home and you girls need to leave.” Lily said, finally addressing the two human girls who still looked like they were in shock. Sammi finally made eye contact with Lily and the two girls squared off as they got closer and closer to home.

“No-I told you we’re staying Lily and I meant it.” Sam said and Ella just nodded her head.

Lily didn’t want to see her friends get hurt, but at this point they could use all the help they could get. She just hoped that her call to the Army had been heard and that they were converging on LA at this very moment. Only time would tell…

@FallenAngel26

Aww I'm so glad you liked it! This series was really fun for me to write because I was able to put so much imagery in to it.

Just finished this series and oh my gosh! I can honestly say that a fan fiction had not made me cry until now. This story hit me right in the feels, expecially the 'just tonight' chapter. It just makes me so sad that they love each other so much but they can't be together. Anyways I love your stories, they are some of my favorites on this site :).

I just have to say that after reading this I now look at God Bless You as a way of telling Satan off

@Truly A Teenage Runaway

Aww well thanks! Start with A Love By Mistake as that is actually where this story is supposed to go. I warn you-I have A LOT of work haha so it may take some time.
