We're Setting Worlds On Fire

A Love-Hate Kind Of Relationship

Andy couldn’t help but jump around the room as they all waited for the signal to hit the stage. They had been on tour for a week now and they were somewhere in the middle of Nebraska. Andy was overly hyper because he had just finished an interview with one of his best friends, Matt Good from D.R.U.G.S and it had been one of the best interviews ever.

Bryan Stars-that crazy ass kid-had contacted Jon in between tours and asked if Andy could do another interview with him when they got near Nebraska. They had had so much fun and spent almost three hours with Bryan, but now he probably needed to focus. Andy stopped jumping and looked around-Lily was watching him.

The two of them had little to do with one another since that first day. Except of course they still trained every morning for two hours, which was killing Andy slowly but he knew it was worth it. They trained anywhere they could, but it was mostly in empty parking lots when the sun was still down so no one would see them at it. He felt much better after training for three weeks-faster and like he could take anything down. Tonight would be the night that they were going to start playing some of the new songs that they had written and no matter how confident Andy acted around the guys…he was a ball of nerves.

What if the audience hated it? None of them would know the lyrics, so they would be playing to a nearly silent crowd and that was always a dangerous thing. But the guys had decided that they were going to just do it-suck it up and play. They had finished the one song they had been working on-naming it appropriately ‘Fallen Angels’ and Andy couldn’t wait for Lily to hear it.

The band had been working on it in secret and he knew for a fact that Lily didn’t know much about it, other than what she heard the first time they played it. Andy also knew that it was driving Lily nuts that she wasn’t there for a lot of their writing sessions. The guys would hole up in the back lounge with one person sitting in front of the door while the others worked through things.

Lily had made herself an unwelcome presence amongst the guys and it was becoming obvious. She would hunt them down at night-dragging them back to the bus if they had missed bus call-even by as little as five minutes. She took their phones and wouldn’t give them back until after they left the stage and met with fans for at least fifteen minutes.

All of the guys had grown tired of it and they all made fun of her behind her back, but never to her face because frankly she scared the shit out of all of them. Andy laughed as he looked around and located Lily, who was vulching in one corner, her eyes scanning around the room silently. He secretly didn’t mind the rules-although he hated the no cell phone one-because he could see the difference.

They had more fans than ever and they couldn’t keep up with merch sales or the patches that they were giving away to new recruits. More and more kids were lining up for shows as the word got around on social media platforms like Myspace and Facebook. Lily had done research on newer platforms like Twitter and Instagram and now Andy had both, which he loved because he got to connect with the fans all the time. He was constantly taking pictures of himself and he asked Lily once if she would get in on a picture with him, but she sadly told him that she wouldn’t show up. Andy had had enough of this vague bullshit and besides-he had a new girlfriend now.

Angel was, well, she wasn’t perfect. She was completely obsessed with Andy and constantly wanted to be around him and when she couldn’t be she texted or called him. She had begged Andy to come on this tour and for a minute he had thought that it might be fun-they had a bus now so there was plenty of room, but thankfully Lily had made the decision that no, no girlfriends. Andy stood there, leaning up against one wall and he hadn’t even realized that he had been staring right at Lily.

Everything about her was still so perfect-her long blonde hair was teased in the back, her lavender eyes were smokey and heavily outlined. She was wearing a ripped up Black Veil Brides shirt and a flowing skirt that was pretty short in the front but was longer as it got towards the back. She looked amazing and Andy wished that he could run over to her, hug her and then everything would be okay. But she had changed-he knew that now and he hated it, but there was nothing Andy could do. She wasn’t Lily anymore-she was an Angel who lived by Gods Law and could not disobey him.

“Alright guys! It’s time to hit it!” Jon said in to the room from the wide doorway and Andy’s head snapped up at the sound. He had been ready for a while now; his War Paint applied perfectly thanks to Lily and her steady hands. She didn’t use her powers much anymore, saying she needed to keep her strength and wits about her.

“Lets do this!” CC called, running past him and Andy only smirked. The drummer was always pumped to get on stage, which made the rest of the guys pumped and so it was a weird chain reaction that worked in their favor.

“Come on man!” Ashley said as he passed by Andy and the singer looked to his best friend. Ashley had stripes going down his cheeks and bare chest. Andy only smiled as he looked over his shoulder and noticed that Lily was right behind him.

Should he say something to her? Should he just leave her alone? What was this dance they were doing? One minute Andy hated her-absolutely could not stand her, but then the next minute he would look at her and a flood of memories and longing would hit him like a punch to the gut. The way they would cuddle together at night, she would lay her head on his chest and he would rub her temples and cheeks while she fell asleep.

They would laugh at the dumbest things together, things that no one else found funny or amusing. They had been perfect together-she supported him and held him up and Andy was always there for her, loving her the way she had always deserved to be loved.
That was over now and he couldn’t feel like it had never been true love-it had been a magic trick all along.

Andy walked out to the side of the stage and looked over the crowd. They had been playing slightly bigger clubs on this tour and Andy smiled as all he could see was a huge wave of people. Kids were chanting-their names, the bands name, anything they could just to rev themselves up. On the last tour Lily had had to get out there and do some magic, but this time it was all them and Andy couldn’t be any happier. He felt proud of his fans and he knew that they would always back him up.

Suddenly Andy felt a small push on his right shoulder and as he looked over and saw Lily standing there, he couldn’t keep the smile from his lips. She would be on the side of the stage-she had been every night since the start of tour and Andy knew she would stay there until the very end. Now though he found himself standing in the middle of the stage, girls screaming his name and holding their hands out for him to take.

“Wow! How the fuck are you guys tonight?!” Andy asked, holding a hand up to his ear as he smirked and smiled out into the sea of people. They screamed, but he knew they could scream louder.

“Oh come on! I said how they fuck are you tonight Nebraska?!” The walls almost shook with their shouts and yells and Andy nodded his head as he turned to Jinxx and smiled.
The guitarist began to play Knives and Pens and the crowd rushed towards the stage.

As Andy sang song after song, he played it to the crowd the best that he could. His shirt had been peeled from his body second song in so now he was shirtless just like Ash and CC, but the girls seemed to love it and he wasn’t going to complain. He fell to the stage-they were playing their new song Love Isn’t Always Fair and the girls were screaming even louder and he moved his hips up and down in the air. He smirked as he kicked his legs up and landed on his feet, something that he hadn’t been able to for a long time. He knew Lily was watching him and he wanted her to watch him sing the song that he had written for her-the perfect ending to their relationship.

Andy stood on his feet, screaming into the mic and holding it out to the crowd as the guys around him played and joked. It was almost time for their set to end and Andy knew the perfect ending song-Fallen Angels. This was going to be their anthem for their fans-something that would bring the Army together, but it was also something that he hoped Lily would appreciate…in her own way. He had written it about her-her falling from Heaven and he wanted her to know that they all saw themselves as Fallen Angels and that they had to stand together. None of them were alone anymore-Lily wasn’t alone anymore.

“Alright guys! It’s time for one last song and I need you guys to help me out! I want the left side of the room to yell ‘Scream’!” Andy laughed as some complied and yelled the word scream, while others just screamed as loud as they could.

“Now! The right side of the room-I need to guys to yell ‘Shout’!” Ashley was now at his side-the singer would take the left side of the room and the bassist would take the right. Pretty soon they got everyone in synch and Andy addressed them all again.

“You know we have all fallen sometimes, but the important thing is that everyone in this room has picked themselves back up. This song is for all of you Fallen Angels out there-we play this for you!” Andy screamed out into the crowd, all of who were still screaming and shouting as they had been told. He looked over his shoulder, catching Lily’s eye and he noticed that she looked slightly intrigued.

Andy began to sing and as he did he couldn’t keep the smile from his face-the crowd was loving it and they were finally catching on after the first chorus. Andy looked over his shoulder and caught Lily’s eyes-she didn’t look very happy with him…ohwell.

Follow the morning star, A light when darkness fell
The passion left unholy, now you find yourself,
We have nowhere to go, no one to wish us well,
A cry to find our home, our stories they will tell
We're bored to death in heaven
And down alone in hell
We only want to be ourselves
We scream, we shout
We are the fallen angels
We scream
We shout, whoa-oh, whoa-oh-oh-ohh,
To those who sing alone, no need to feel this sorrow,
We scream, we shout whoa,
We are the fallen angels
Scream, shout, we are the fallen angels
Scream, shout, whoa-oh, whoa-oh-oh-ohh

They finished the song and as Andy jumped up and down while thanking the crowd and telling them that he loved them, he knew that his happy time was coming to an end. Lily was standing on the side of the stage, her tiny hands on her hips and her face was set in a scowl. He was in big trouble and he knew it. Lily watched as Andy and the guys finally began to walk towards her and as Andy passed she reached out and grabbed his arm. She slammed him up against the back wall of the stage area and floated up until her nose almost brushed against his.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?!” She growled at him. Andy only smirked as he ripped himself out of her grip and then walked towards the backstage door. His fans were waiting for him, but he did glance over his shoulder at her and smirk before leaving.

“Exactly what you told me to do…I’m setting the world on fire…” With that he was gone and Lily was left with a very sad look on her perfect Angelic face.

Notes

I know a lot of you have expressed your feelings about Lily and how mean and strict she has become. Trust me when I say-there's more to her than I've told you. Fear not! There will be a chapter where we all will see exactly what happened to Lily when she got to Heaven and what caused her to forget Andy and their love.

Please review and I'll make you a snowman(because there's A LOT of fucking snow outside my house right now) <3

@FallenAngel26

Aww I'm so glad you liked it! This series was really fun for me to write because I was able to put so much imagery in to it.

Just finished this series and oh my gosh! I can honestly say that a fan fiction had not made me cry until now. This story hit me right in the feels, expecially the 'just tonight' chapter. It just makes me so sad that they love each other so much but they can't be together. Anyways I love your stories, they are some of my favorites on this site :).

I just have to say that after reading this I now look at God Bless You as a way of telling Satan off

@Truly A Teenage Runaway

Aww well thanks! Start with A Love By Mistake as that is actually where this story is supposed to go. I warn you-I have A LOT of work haha so it may take some time.
