We're Setting Worlds On Fire

Rise Of The Death Walker

The band’s practice had gone decently well, although Lily had a terrible feeling in the pit of her stomach. Now they were at some house party-a treat for the guys since they had done so well at rehearsal that day. Lily was standing off in one corner, her eyes peeled for anything unusual and she kept having to brush people off.

For some reason guys and girls kept coming up to her, trying to strike up conversations with her, but Lily was having none of it. As they came up to her, Lily would smile, wave her hand in front of their face and watch as they would turn right back around, confused expressions on their faces as they would walk off.

Now she was watching out for Andy-keeping a close eye on him as he walked around the room and spoke to people. It’s not that she didn’t trust him-okay she didn’t trust him-but Lily knew that Andy was very vulnerable in that moment. He was very angry with her and by being angry and feeling betrayed she knew he was bound to do something stupid to piss her off. He was currently standing against a wall, a drink in one hand while he held an unlit cigarette in the other. He was talking to a very pretty girl with purple and green hair who was making him laugh but Lily was on to him. Every time he laughed he would then look over at her, daring her to say something or do something.

Lily wasn’t moving though and she was keen to his antics. Andy had always been this way-childish and vengeful, but this was more than she had ever expected. After practice and them playing the two songs that they did-Lily had almost expected Andy to come over to her and try to hug her. Instead he had stayed with Jake and Jinxx, talking about figuring things out for the last song and working on fine tuning things on Love Isn’t Always Fair. He had hardly even looked at her on the walk home with Jinxx and Sam and then when they got to the party he had disappeared.

Now he was flirting with everything that walked past and while if she were still human Lily could see herself being irritated, but all she could feel was a slight relief. Maybe now he would focus on this girl with the purple green hair and light green eyes and finally Lily could do her job. Probably not-knowing Andy this was just some ploy to get her to react.

Not. Going. To. Happen. Lily just stood there, her lavender eyes watching Andy over the edge of the still full cup in her hands and he smirked in her direction, but quickly looked away. He was playing a game, but nothing he was doing was going to make Lily give in a play along with him.

“Is he teasing you?” A voice asked out from next to her and as Lily looked to her left and rolled her eyes. Now was not the best time for Ashley Purdy to be giving her a hard time. She turned to face him, her arms crossed over her black t-shirt clad chest and her stance immediately became defensive.

“I’m not in the mood to deal with you Calvanis…” Lily smirked as Ashley’s face grew incredibly pale and he licked his lips. That’s right big boy-she hadn’t forgotten his given Demonic name and when Angels knew a Demons name they had a certain power over them.

“Bu-“ Ashley stopped talking as there was a hush over the crowd. Lily froze in place as she looked around, her ears perking up as a low growling noise had broken out over the din of the room. Her heart sank-this had been a very bad idea and now that bad idea was here to bite her in the ass…literally.

Lily spun around, her heart racing as she held her hands up and watched as all of the humans in the room literally froze in their places. It was better if they weren’t aware of what was about to go down because if this was what Lily thought it was then they were all in huge trouble. Ashley and Andy were still awake and both Demons had come to her side, Andy having placed a protective hand on her shoulder.

Guess he wasn’t mad at her afterall. She walked towards the door where the growling could be heard and Lily held her breath as she placed her hand on the door. It was too late for a protection charm and so she knew she was going to have to fight this thing.

“You two need to back up…”Lily said over her shoulder as she reached out a shaking hand and placed it on the knob of the door. Ashley did as she told him to, but Andy being stubborn was still standing at her side. Lily huffed as she looked at him from over her shoulder and he just smiled a small encouraging smile at her.

“Andy…” Lily warned and she watched as his face fell and he backed up against a far wall where Ash was standing. He wanted to fight, but Lily knew he wasn’t ready for this-even she wasn’t sure she was really ready for it.

“What is it Lily?” Andy asked from across the room and Lily closed her eyes as she tried to focus herself. There was a huge gust of wind, the air in the room swirling all around them as Lily’s wings spread out and Andy’s breath caught in his throat. They were beautiful and he had to stick his hands on his leather jacket pockets to keep from touching them.

“Remember those things that go bump in the night I told you about?” Lily asked. Her back was still towards them as she faced the door and Andy tried to think about the night before when she had told him that there were more than just Demons in the Human world. What was going on?

Yeah…” Andy said, his voice shaking and he nearly jumped as there was a huge slam and the door in front of them bowed in slightly.

“You’re about to see one of them…” Lily said as she clapped her hands together and then she held on to her gleaming sword. This was her pride and joy-something that had taken her three hundred years to earn. A sword that could kill anything, even Satan himself, if Lily could ever get close enough and no other Angel besides Gabriel had one like it.

Lily braced herself as the door bowed in once again, only this time it burst open and a creature straight from the deepest depths stood before her. Not only was it ugly with its white eyes, pale green slimy skin and hunched shoulders, but it was also deadly as Lily took in it razor sharp teeth that were over three inches longs and it’s huge talons. She wasn’t sure, but it seemed like they had themselves a Death Walker-a type of Demon Zombie that was stupid, but deadly. It growled at her, bringing up its clawed hands as it took a swipe at her and Lily jumped out of the way.

It smirked at her, a slow smirk and Lily felt a chill run up her spine. This thing had been looking for them and it knew that after a long search it had finally found them and gotten them right where they needed to be. Lily brought her sword down and there was a loud unearthly screech as the creatures right arm fell to the floor. There was a purple substance oozing from it’s wound and Lily cringed as the room was filled with a foul stench. It ran at her and Lily spun out of the way, her eyes momentarily catching Andy’s and he looked scared out of his mind. She knew that this was not something he had ever seen before and it was probably a shock.

“Lily watch out!” Andy shouted out at her. She had gotten distracted and suddenly Lily felt a hand grab onto one of her wings. She went flying as the creature tossed her like a baseball towards one corner of the room and the wind was knocked out of her as she smacked in to a nearby wall.

“Andy stop distracting me!” Lily growled as she stood up, her wings having disappeared as she could hardly move with them spread out. She was standing there, her stance defensive as her sword hung at her sides and Andy felt helpless in that moment. He had failed-he should be the one fighting now her…it should be him.

Lily ran at the Death Walker, her sword raised high above her head as she somersaulted in the air and then landed right in front of the thing. With a quick swipe of her sword its head went flying through the air and both the body and decapitated head vanished into puffs of gray and black smoke. Lily felt breathless, her chest was heaving and she had to work to breathe, but she was alive.

She tossed her sword in the air and watched as the white dove flew off before she turned to face Andy and Ash. They were both standing there, their eyes wide open as they looked at her in amazement. If this didn’t prove that she knew what she was doing-Lily didn’t know what would.

She walked towards them, her lips curved into a wide smile and Lily only walked right past Andy and headed towards the kitchen where she had last seen Jinxx and Sammi. As she walked through the door, Lily snapped her fingers and the room came to life once again. The girl Andy had been talking to was looking around for him and he smiled as she caught his eye and came running over. He couldn’t remember her name in that moment, but Andy knew that this girl could possibly be a good replacement for Lily. At least he hoped so. He had been holding out for Lily, thinking that if she was around him long enough that she would fall in love with him all over again, but that turned out to just be his wishful thinking.

Lily had said she wanted him to leave her alone and so that was exactly what Andy was doing. Only he had expected her to grow jealous or angry at his flirtations. She actually seemed kind of happy to see him with someone else, but deep down Andy knew he wasn’t happy. This girl in front of him was cute with her pierced lip and nose-her purple and green hair pulled back to show the tattoos that covered her chest and neck. She wasn’t Lily though-no one would ever be Lily and Andy just needed to face that fact.

Looking around he noticed that a lot of people were beginning to filter out of the house and he knew it was time for them to leave as well. He had so many thing he wanted to ask Lily though-first and foremost he wanted to know what the fuck that thing was that had burst in here. Andy had never seen anything like it and he had been a Demon for two thousand years.

She had told him that there were things that he had never seen before-things that were new to him, but Andy had figured that she was just joking around. Looking at the girl before him, Andy smiled and took her number, putting it in to his phone as she hugged him and then waved shyly as she walked out with her friends. Andy looked around then and finally spotted the group in the kitchen, all standing around Lily but their eyes were on him.

“What’s going on guys?” Andy asked as he walked into the kitchen and noticed the still silence that was coming from the collected group. Lily looked exhausted and pale and Andy noticed that Sammi had a cool towel placed on the back of Lily’s neck. Had she been hurt?

“Lily was just telling us about what happened…” Jinxx said gravely from the chair he was seated in. Andy looked around at everyone-their serious faces were scaring him slightly and he could feel his heart pounding a mile a minute.

“I was wondering the same thing.” Andy said as he crossed his arms over his chest and looked down at Lily. She slowly seemed to be getting some color back in her face and Andy felt relieved. Even though they were not together any longer and she hated him more than anything…he couldn’t bear to think about her getting hurt.

“It was a Death Walker. A sort of zombie Demon that Satan has added to his arsenal of weapons. They are incredibly stupid, but deadly due to their long talons and poisonous fangs. Humans can’t see them, but they can hear them…” Lily explained as she stood up, shooing Sammi’s hand away from her neck as Lily moved to stand behind her chair. She was leaning on it for support and Andy could tell that she needed to go home and meditate or whatever it was that she did.

“There are more of those things?” Ashley asked, his voice wary and Lily only smirked, shaking her head. Andy watched her long blonde hair fall in front of her eyes as Lily looked down at the table top before looking straight at him. She was looking in to his soul and Andy wondered what she would find.

“There are more and there are other’s. There are things that even Demons have never heard of…things that Satan hasn’t brought out since the last time he tried this little stunt of his…” She said lowly.

“What stunt would that be?” Andy asked, gulping as Lily’s lavender eyes looked deep into his own and she smirked.

“The last time he tried to take over Earth…and Heaven…” There was a hush over the room as everyone looked at Lily. But she could only look at Andy and he knew in that moment that they had a Hell of a war in front of them. They’d better win…

@FallenAngel26

Aww I'm so glad you liked it! This series was really fun for me to write because I was able to put so much imagery in to it.

Just finished this series and oh my gosh! I can honestly say that a fan fiction had not made me cry until now. This story hit me right in the feels, expecially the 'just tonight' chapter. It just makes me so sad that they love each other so much but they can't be together. Anyways I love your stories, they are some of my favorites on this site :).

I just have to say that after reading this I now look at God Bless You as a way of telling Satan off

@Truly A Teenage Runaway

Aww well thanks! Start with A Love By Mistake as that is actually where this story is supposed to go. I warn you-I have A LOT of work haha so it may take some time.
