Together Burning Bright

Hells Bells

“Arabella Rose Biersack you come back here this instant!” Dess called out from the back lounge, her blonde hair hanging in her face as she huffed and stood up to run after the two year old. Baby Oliver was hanging over one shoulder, fast asleep like usual and Dess was feeling frantic.

“No!” The tiny girl shouted over her naked shoulder-she was completely naked-as she ran away from Dess and headed towards the front of the bus. Odessa only sighed as she slowed down, the guys were up front and they would catch Aria before she got out.

They all were on a long summer tour that was spanning the United States, Canada and South America and Dess was starting to feel the strain. With a six month old, who thankfully was the best baby ever, and a two year old terror running around on the bus-Dess was in desperate need of some help…and a drink. Arabella was completely and utterly immersed in her terrible two stage and she was a nightmare. Loud, pushy, whiny, and she cried constantly. Andy 2.0 is what the guys called her and Dess knew it wasn’t far from the truth.

Arabella was just like her father-she looked like him, walked and talked like him and she pouted just like he did. As Dess made her way to the front she sighed in relief as she saw that Arabella-still naked-was sitting on the couch beside CC and watching him and Jake play a video game. The newly married drummer-Vegas trip right before the start of tour-had thankfully thrown a blanket over her small body. Dess placed Oliver in his swing that was sitting near the kitchen table and as she looked down in to his moss green eyes she felt her heart flutter.

Oliver was Dess-pure and simple. He was calm, he slept a lot, he got this serious look on his face constantly and he had her eyes. Andy had nearly cried with joy when they all woken up one morning three weeks after Oli was born and they noticed that his gray eyes had turned into a light mossy green color. The singer was currently at an interview with Ashley and Dess couldn’t wait for her husband to get back on the bus. If anyone could control this wild child daughter of hers…it was Andy.

“Arabella Rose you can’t run around naked!” Dess said as she looked down on them all. Aria’s thumb was in her mouth, her blue eyes staring at the screen as her short blonde hair wove around her face. Some days the little girl woke up, her hair all crazy and wild like her mother’s and it was soft and straight. Other days she would wake up and it was filled with curls and tangles.

“Yes can!” She called out, never taking her eyes from the screen and CC only smirked. He was newly married and as Dess squinted her eyes at him, she thought silently that she couldn’t wait until he had a hellion of his very own.

“Hells Bells…” CC said and Aria just smiled and dug her head into her Uncle C’s side.

Dess huffed, turning around to walk back to the lounge to get Aria’s discarded clothes.
She had turned her back on the girl-who was currently trying to potty train-and then she had disappeared. Aria had taken a liking to being naked, which was okay when they were home and it was just the four of them, but Dess felt eternally embarrassed by the many times that her daughter had run around naked. They were currently on tour with a few other bands, Asking Alexandria and Heaven’s Basement being two who they got along with, and Dess had noticed that Aria liked to be naked when the attention was all on her.

As she grabbed for the soft red and black t-shirt and black leggings that Aria had thrown around the room, Dess felt a pain shoot up her back. She had been feeling like crap for the past few days and she knew it was the lack of sleep. Oliver slept through the night, but Aria was all over the place. She wanted to sleep in Andy and Dess’ bunk instead of in her own-which had a barrier built into it in case she fell out-and Andy let her almost every night. But she wouldn’t sleep-she wanted to play twenty questions until five in the morning and then Dess never got any sleep.

Why did they live on a bus-that was daddy’s job.

Why did she have blue eyes and Dess and Oliver have green-because that was how they were made.

How come she couldn’t bring Winnie with her-because he needed to stay home and guard the house.

Where was Aunty Kit-on her own bus over the ocean with another group of people.

Why did daddy get on stage every night-because that’s what he loves.

Do you love daddy-very much.

Do you love mommy-more than anything.

When can we go home-soon.

When is it Christmas-next year.

Can you read me a story-which one.

I want pancakes-not right now.

I want a bunny-maybe in a year.

I want to watch a movie-tomorrow.

On and on it went until finally Dess would pass out and let Andy deal with the munchkin. Andy was happy to do it though-he loved his daughter more than anything and he spoiled her constantly. Anything Aria wanted or needed-Andy was right there with it. Dess kept telling him that it was okay to do that now, but in a year or two he would have to start telling her no. The Uncles also spoiled her rotten-especially Ashley- and Dess knew that her daughter would always be well loved and well taken care of. Sighing, Dess gathered the few clothes in her hands, picked up Aria’s stuffed dog Pooh and then headed out towards the front of the bus.

“Arabella-it’s time to put some clothes on.” Dess said as she walked towards the front, stopping to check on Oli. Dess smiled-he was just sitting in his swing, murmuring to himself and watching over all of them…her little observer.

“No.” The little girl mumbled, her thumb still in her mouth as she watched the television screen. Dess groaned-this was impossible and where in the Hell was her husband?

“Arabella…” Dess warned and the tiny girl finally turned her blonde head and looked at her. Those blue eyes-Dess had been a sucker for them at first because they reminded her so much of Andy-but now she was completely immune to their power.

Mommy…” The girl challenged and Dess couldn’t keep the smirk from her lips. She looked so much like Andy in that moment-her apple cheeks puffed out and her jaw was clenched in sheer determination. Her wide blue eyes were angry and steady and Dess knew that the only person to get this child to do anything would be Andy.

“You better listen to her kid…” CC warned as he looked down at his niece and smiled. The little girl loved sitting beside him, but CC only hoped that if he and Christy had kids that they weren’t as hard headed and determined as his little Hell Bell.

“No…” Aria said, crossing her arms over her chest as her lips formed a pout and she began to shake her head back and forth.

“Arabella Rose…” Dess warned and soon enough the little girl was crying, her lips trembling and Dess just shrugged her shoulders and took a seat at the kitchen table.

Most would call this cruel or inhuman to ignore a crying child, but Dess called it normal. She and Andy had learned very quickly that Aria was able to turn on the water works very easily and she knew it got her what she wanted. So they had developed a technique of figuring out if the tears were genuine or if they were fake. Right now they were fake and Dess only sat there and ignored her eldest child.

Soon enough Arabella had gotten up from her seat, her thumb back in her mouth and the blanket still draped around her shoulders as she walked over to Dess. The mother held out her arms towards the child and soon Aria had stopped crying and Dess only hoped she could get some clothes on her child.

“What’s going on guys?” Someone called out from the door of the bus and as Dess looked up, a smile crept on to her lips. Andy was back from his interview, his black hair hanging in his eyes and his leather jacket was slung over one shoulder.

“You’re daughter…” Was all she had to say and soon enough Andy had thrown his jacket over one of the recliners, unbuttoned the first two buttons on his black shirt and was walking over towards his little family.

“Bells…” His voice was steady and Andy had to try really hard to keep the smirk off of his lips as Arabella looked over her shoulder at him, those blue eyes shining with tears and her heart shaped lips were pink and pouty.

“Daddy!” The girl shrieked as she opened her arms, the blanket dropping as she ran towards Andy. He bent down , holding his arms out and Andy almost didn’t want to know why Aria was naked…again.

“Why are you naked honey?” Andy asked as Dess just shook her head and passed the bundle of clothes over to her husband. Andy looked towards his wife and Dess just rolled her eyes and mouthed ‘She’s your daughter…’ before getting up to make herself some tea.

“No clothes!” Aria laughed as she clapped her hands together and then kissed his lips lightly. Andy only chuckled-Dess was right…Arabella Rose was completely and unapologetically his daughter.

“Yes clothes…come on.” Andy said as he stood up and held out his hand. Aria loved to be carried, but both he and Dess were trying to break her of that habit.

“No clothes. Bell no clothes.” The girl stopped in her tracks, her chubby arms crossing over her chest as she stood her ground with the cutest frown on her perfect face.

“Arabella…” Andy warned and his blue eyes grew serious as he stared his daughter down. She was his and he loved her, but good Lord she was a complete handful. Had he been this bad when he was her age?

Daddy…” She said, her face dropping as Andy began to walk back towards the back lounge. The best way to get Aria to do anything was for Andy to do it or for people to ignore her until she gave in. Dess laughed-Andy was doing both of those things in that moment and he was doing a good job of it.

Dess sat at the kitchen table, laughing as she watched Aria run after Andy, her chubby butt bare for all to see and it was nothing short of adorable. A lot could be said for their two children-they were complete opposites so far and only time would tell if that stayed the same. Andy was pretty sure Oli was going to be just like him as well, he just hadn’t grown in to his personality yet. But as Dess sat there at that kitchen table, the green forest of Washington glowing through the window behind her, she couldn’t keep her eyes off of Oliver.

Their moss green eyes connected and as they did so, he smiled at her…his first real smile and it was all Odessa’s…no one else’s.

Notes

Arabella, while adorable, is absolutely Andy's daughter. CC's married! Of course it's last minute and he went to Vegas...something CC would totally do. I hate to tell you guys this but I won't be updating this story(or any for that matter) until next week. I'm hanging out with friends tomorrow and sunday I'm working on a birthday cake for someone(if you guys want to see pictures let me know)
