"Ash, looks like you got a big fan!" We were backstage, sitting in a huge room with the band. I was sitting across from Ashley. When Andy said that, I blushed and looked down.
"She looks cute when she blushes." I looked up, and Ashley was staring right at me! I blushed even more. "Yup. Really cute." He smiled. "So whats your guys names?"
"I'm Laura."
"Nice to meet you." CC was really nice.
"And you are-" I looked at Ashley.
"Amarie." I whispered.
"Pretty name for a pretty girl." He smiled again. I felt like I was going to melt!
"So, you guys get us for about twenty minutes before we have to go. What do you want to talk about?" Andy looked at me, and I flashed him a thank you look. He had saved me from utter disaster!
"How do you guys write your songs?" Laura had always wanted to know this.
"Uh uh. Top secret " Andy winked, and Laura pouted. Not a real pout, but still a pout in the end. But she smiled and laughed right away, showing she was messing around. I did have one question.
"Do you guys ever get nervous? I mean, before a show." I could barley hear myself, but Ashley smiled again.
"Of course. But all you have to do is think about everyone out there waiting for you, cheering for you, so you can try to put on the best show possible." They all nodded.
"Yeah. I don't ever think I will get over MY stage fright." I shocked myself by saying that. The words had just rolled right off my tongue!
"'There are many people out there who will tell you you can't." I shocked myself again by joining in with Ashley: "'What you gotta do is turn around and say, 'Watch me''" Even if I had just whispered it along, I felt everyone eyes on me. They had all heard me.
"She really is a big fan huh?"
"Yup." I felt myself blush again. "Her favorite though is: 'Ding Dang who's your boss!' I can NEVER get her to stop saying it." That's when Ashley stood up. We all looked at him.
"DING DANG WHO"S YOUR BOSS!" We all started laughing and joined in with him. Somehow, in the commotion, he sat next to me. Everyone except Laura pretended not to notice. She stared at us wide eyed. And she had a right to! His leg was touching mine!
"She got it wrong though," I said looking at all of them. "My favorite one is: 'Suicide isn't cowardly.'" Suddenly Ashley joined in. "'I'll tell you whats cowardly; treating people so badly that they want to end their lives.'"
"I completely forgot I even said that. But it is true." We looked each other in the eyes, and the moment seemed to last forever. Well, at least until Andy cleared his throat.
"How old are you ladies anyway?" Jake, who had been silent most of the time, along with CC and Jinxx, suddenly asked.
"It is never polite to ask a lady how old she is unless it is her birthday." I elbowed Laura in the ribs.
"I'm 27 and little miss polite over here is 26."
"Your a little older than our normal fan group huh?" Jinxx asked.
"Yeah. Back when we were in school, people would call us emo. Guess we still are. Me and Amarie were looking for new bands and we found you guys. Fell in love almost instantly One of us more than the other," Laura said, looking at me from the corner of her eye. I ignored her. Mostly because Ashley was whispering to me.
"Was it because of me you fell in love with the band almost right away?" I blushed and didn't answer. He took it as a yes I guess, cause he chuckled to himself and moved a little closer. Just then, someone popped his head into the door.
"5 minutes you guys." Then he left.
"So," CC said. " We better get ready to hit the road. Here. Lets sign something for you, and we will be on our way then." Everyone signed something for us, and told us we could do this again anytime, they liked talking with us. Ashley signed last for me. When they left, I loked at what he had wrote:
"Meet me by the bathrooms. I wanna talk in private. -Ash."
OMG this could not be happening! I walked toward the door and Laura followed me.
"Where are you going?"
"I gotta pee real quick."
"OK, I will be in the car." I walked to the bathroom, and there he was, the guy I had never meet until just now, but had completely and utterly fallen in love with.
"Hey Amarie."
"Hey."
"You never answered my question. WAS it because of me?" I blushed and looked down.
"Yeah. I guess."
"Good. Cause if not, I totally would've felt bad about doing this." He then lifted up myt chin, leaned in, and kissed me.
