“WAKE UP ALREADY YOU TWO!” I felt the covers being pulled off of me.
“Alright, alright. I’m up, I’m up. Geez Laura. What’s the big deal?”
“The big deal is that we have a concert tonight!”
“WHAT!? FUCK!” I jumped out of bed, and saw Ashley was still in bed.
“ASHLEY!”
“PURDY! WAKE THE FUCK UP RIGHT NOW!” We looked at each other, and laughed. We had said his first and last name together without even trying.
“WHAT!? Geez you two are loud. I thought CC was in here at first. What’s the deal with waking me up?”
“We got a concert!”
“Fuck me!” He jumped out of bed.
“Her job. Not mine.” I glared at Laura, and tried to find a reason to kick her out. She hadn’t changed yet. Perfect. “What are you doing!? Go get changed!!” I shoved her out the door and slammed it. I started digging through my clothes trying to find the perfect outfit.
“Thanks for getting her out of here. Slip of the tongue.” He started to pull a different shirt on.
“No big deal. Every time I used to screw up, I used to say ‘Fuck. My. Life.’ Learned not to say it after the first one hundred times.” I found the perfect outfit. (Her outfit is too long to explain. Anyway, how was that even funny?”
“I don’t know it just is.” He stopped laughing. “OK. What?”
“What is the last song? That’s the one we are playing with you, right?”
“Yeah. It’s ‘Coffin.’”
“Really?” I loved that song. Not many people understood the meaning of it though.
“Yeah. Andy’s idea. We are also playing two other songs before that. It’s going to be a short concert.”
“What are the other songs?” I was trying to lace up my knee high boots.
“Umm…’In the End’ and ‘Wretched and Divine’ I think. What are you guys doing?”
“’The Drug in me is You’ and ‘Cut off your hands.’ We figured since we were playing with you guys we wouldn’t do any songs by you.” I turned around, and he took in my outfit. He raised an eyebrow.
“What the-“
“We thought it would be funny if we dressed like fans.” I was shaking with laughter. “We thought it might fit with playing the one song with you. What do you think?”
“I think you look…sexy.” He walked over and put his hands on my waist. “Very sexy,” he whispered in my ear, and I shivered. He kissed me, but then pulled back almost right away. I looked at him, confused. “I don’t think we have time for what I have in mind.” I blushed. I had been thinking the same thing.
“Here,” I said, handing him my makeshift eye compass. “I won’t need it tonight.”
“Thanks.” I saw him reach for something off the table and shove it into his pocket before I could see it. Hmm. Interesting.
“ASH! AMARIE! LETS GO!” We sighed.
“Ready to rock the stage again?”
“Yup.”
“Nervous?”
“Surprisingly, no. Maybe I might eat something.” We laughed, then walked to join t he others.
