Awkward dinner party activate, the entire evening consisted of Gordon asking some of the weirdest questions. What’s your favorite question? What do you like to eat? Do you eat you’re so thin? I rolled my eyes and slowly ate the delicious dinner that Mr. Trumper served.

“So this is an authentic German meal?” Ashley asked.

“Yeah, I want to take the boys to Germany one summer so they can see more of their heritage.”

“That sounds cool, I would love to travel, you know after high school.” I mused.

“What’s high school like for you, Andrew?” I sighed and looked at Gordon.

“It’s just Andy please; I am only called Andrew by my teachers and my mom. School’s great I am involved in a very prestigious art club and we have been in a few exhibitions.”

“That sounds splendid. So Bill, how is school for you?”

“Terrible.” He mumbled. “I am bullied, abused and no one cares if I live or die.” I swallowed harshly and looked over at Tom who was staring at Bill.

“Gordon, let’s not bring school up.” He added. “Mom, can you pass the chicken?”

“If you’ll excuse me.” Gordon got up and left the room. I can’t help feel uneasy about him. He just rubbed me the wrong way. The way his brown eyes looked at Bill like wolf looking at a helpless lamb.

“Bill, are you okay? You haven’t touched your food.” His mom cooed.

“I just feel out of place. Like everyone here belongs but I don’t.”

“Honey, don’t feel that way.”

“I understand that I shouldn’t but…all that I’ve been through nothing feels right anymore. I have to go.” He got up and ran out the door.

“Bill!” His mother called.

I ran away again, dammit! I kicked the ground and looked at the dark sky. A cold chill ran down my spine and when I turned Gordon was right behind me.

“Bill, what are you doing out here? It’s chilly, you could catch cold.”

“I’m fine out here, thank you.” He got closer and my heart raced. He put his big hand on me and I shuddered.

“You know, I never forgave you for biting me. I mean all you had to do was listen, it would’ve been quick but you had to go and be little bitch and bite me.” My knees shook and I felt two warm liquids, one was the hot tears pouring out of my face and the other was the warm sensation slowly making its way down my black jeans. I can’t believe he scared me so badly I wet myself.

“G---get away from me!” I pushed him and I fell to the ground. He smiled and stepped over me.

“You honestly think that you of all people could push me away. You aren’t even strong enough to maintain your bladder.” He chuckled. He grabbed my arm and pulled me up.

“Bill, are you alright?” He smiled and pretended to be helping me.

“Yeah, I was out dumping the trash from the car and I saw the kid just sitting on the ground crying. I thought I’d check on him.” Andy looked so skeptical of his story. I could tell he didn’t believe him.

“Bill, your pants are wet.”

“Puddle from last night’s rain.” Gordon added. “Poor kid must’ve fallen in it.” Andy still didn’t believe him.

“Fine, I’ll take him home and get him cleaned up. Thanks for the food, Mrs. T. Come on, Ashley.” Andy grabbed my wrist and dragged me from Gordon’s arms down the street. We were a good half a mile away when he turned to me.

“What happened?” I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out.

“Did he hurt you?” I shook my head and he sighed.

“Fine, tell me what happened.”

“I was just standing there and he walked up to me and started touching me and saying things to me and then I…I…I don’t want to talk about what happened after that but then I pushed him off and he pretended to be helping me when you guys got out.”

“How does he know you?” I sighed and bit my lip.

“He’s the one I bit when I was ten years old.”
