New School, New Life
Early morning start
Stepping out of the shower Haley nearly bumped into one of the other girls she roomed with. The girl also looked to have recently showered, but Haley couldn't place the name with the face.
"Sorry if my alarm woke you up," she said quietly, adjusting the towel around her as she finally remembered the girl was Eve.
"It didn't, I was already here in the showers," Eve replied softly as she did the same.
"Okay then," Haley said awkwardly, heading to the privacy stalls so she could dress. After dressing she headed over to the counter and mirrors to straighten her hair and apply her make-up. Since it was a new school she opted for a more muted version of her normal look, testing what would and would not be allowed. She did a simple cat's eye style with the liner and just a hint of mascara. Feeling watched she glanced at the space next to her reflection and saw that Eve was watching her.
"So, what were you working on last night? You kind of tuned us all out when we were trying to get to know you."
"Sorry about that, and I was working on a music piece that has been floating around my thoughts for the past few days," Haley mumbled as she finished and went to walk away.
"Why don't you talk much?" Eve asked as she began styling her own hair.
"I just don't have much to say," Haley responded softly, adding "sorry." With that she walked out the door.
Keeping her head down as she walked down the hall, back to her shared room, she was forced to come to a sudden stop when a hand slammed into the wall inches from her face. She turned to see who the hand belonged to and saw it was Ashley, who had a guy with long dark hair and intense blue eyes standing next to him. "This is Andy, Andy this is Haley, so Haley, Andy and I will be showing you around today, go get your bag and meet us in the common room."
Haley stared at Ashley for a few moments, standing as still as she could in an attempt to make him feel awkward enough that he and his friend would just go away.
It seemed luck was not on her side, when she didn't respond in any way Ashley picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder. He carried her the rest of the way to her room, while his friend followed, biting his lip in an attempt to not laugh at Haley's expletive filled grumbling.
When she was finally set down, it was on her own bed as Ashley stepped back to wait for her to gather the things she would need for the day. "Fuck you assholes," she muttered as she grabbed her messenger bag and placed the piece she had been working on in it as well as a few more empty notebooks.
