The girl across the hall

Snowbirds

Arielle's beach outfit

The couple rushes to catch their flight to the sarasota/Bradenton airport in time. They breaks into a run when the speakers announce the final boarding call for their flight. Just when the lady is about to stop checking tickets, Arielle holds out her ticket to get scanned while Andy follows in suit. They manage to find their seats which are unfortunately separated by a rather large man that simply grunted when they politely asked if they could trade seats. During the four and a half hour flight, Arielle works on typing up her article and pinpointing possible interviews she needs to set up. Andy, on the other hand, does work as well... If listening to your album to make sure it is perfect qualifies as working. Not soon enough, the flight has landed at the small airport and they are able to get off the plane hand in hand. When they reach the opening of the gate Andy leans in for a kiss, smiling against Arielle's lips. The man that sat between the couple pushes past them, breaking their kiss.

"So they have a pool and the beach down at the place we are staying. Do you want to hit there first?" Arielle asks with a grin while they walk past the small aquarium provided by mote marine. As they step down onto the escalators an elderly couple scoffs and sends them a dirty look. The woman mutters, "you see Paul, they are ruining our country."
Andy chuckles as they grab their suitcases before heading over to the rental car station to get the small Kia that they were renting.

At the hotel, they quickly check into their room then make their way upstairs so that they can change. Arielle gasps as she enters their room, taking in the king size bed, the balcony overlooking the pool, the huge bathroom and small kitchen complete with a seating area. Andy wraps his arms around her from behind, letting his lips graze her neck as he takes in the large room. "This is ridiculously nice."
"Do you think they got it wrong?" Arielle asks, turning in his arms when he shrugs. "probably not. This place seems very high end."
Arielle nods, leaning her forehead against Andy's with a smile, her arms around his neck as they exchange quick kisses. That is until her mom calls to ask what room they are in. "321 mom. We're going down to the pool in a minute though."
"Oh, ok Arielle, maybe you could send Andy to go play golf with your father and Scott. Then we could all go get our nails done." Alissa suggests through the phone.
"I can't play golf to save my life!" He laughs while pulling on his swim trunks. Arielle puts the phone on speaker while she changes into her bikini and shorts. The two make their way down to the pool after hanging up the phone with Alissa who is already down there.

"Hello Andy, I'm Alissa." She says through gritted teeth, shaking his hand. Arielle gets pulled into a hug when her mother hisses, "what is that on your stomach."
Arielle laughs, "It's so nice to see you too mom. After all, I haven't seen you in a year."
"You didn't answer my question Arielle."
She shrugs, "it's a belly ring, I got it ages ago with Delaney."
Her mother simply scoffs, turning back to her chair where she was tanning. "You need some sun Andy, you're pale as a ghost."
"I usually wear jeans so I can understand why." Andy laughs it off, pulling Arielle closer and pressing his lips to her cheek. Jessica finally looks away from her book and takes in the pale, tattooed man that her soon to be sister-in-law is with. Arielle smiles innocently up to him, whispering in his ear, "why don't we go in the hot tub later tonight when everyone has gone to bed?"
He nods furiously at this, his eyes flashing with smugness as she pulls off her shorts.

"So Andy and I are going to go down to the beach. We'll see you in a bit mom." Arielle holds onto Andy's hand as they make their way down to the somewhat crowded beach. They walk along the shoreline, collecting shells and sand dollars on the way. Giggles and laughter, kisses and smiles are exchanged as they make their way down the sandy beach. Andy pulls her towards the ocean with a wide smile, splashing her with some water. He then pulls him to her, wading further out into the water as he plants a kiss on her forehead. "I love you Ari."
"I love you too Andy." Arielle whispers, crashing her lips down on his, only to be interrupted by her 8 year old cousin Ben. "Eww! Arielle has cooties!"
"Hey you little rascal. How's New York?" Arielle giggles, still holding onto Andy. The little boy waves and swims back over to where her aunt is waiting. Andy places his lips on hers again, a kiss that is far too passionate to be done in a public place. Andy's hands fall from her waist to grip at her hips, then slightly lower when they are interrupted yet again by her mother. "Don't you dare touch my daughter like that."
Arielle pulls away, sending a glare towards her mom who is wading into the water with a smug Jessica close behind. She takes Andy's hands in hers and places them right on her ass. "It's my body and if I say it's alright for him to touch me he can."
Andy feels a blush creep into his cheeks as Jessica smirks at him, as if to suggest something. He takes his hands off of her ass and says kindly, "I won't touch your daughter in public if that bothers you, however it is true that Arielle can decide what she wants to do with her body. I'm sorry and we will try to be more modest with our attraction to each other in public."
Alissa rolls her eyes and sits down on the float she had brought out. "So, how did you two meet?"
"Well our ex's broke up with us at the exact same time and since we used to live across the hall from each other we kind of both needed a hug." Arielle explains, smiling up at Andy. He smirks down at her and continues the story, "I could not get this beautiful woman that lived across the hall out of my mind so finally a month later I asked her out on a date. Which she utterly refused until I asked enough that she got fed up and agreed." He chuckles, quickly pecking her lips while Alissa clears her throat. "If you don't mind me asking, you said lived across the hall, as in past tense?"
"Ya, I moved in with him a little less than a month ago." Arielle feels the smile fade as she takes in her mom's glare towards the man she loves. "We both decided that we want to spend as much time together as possible before Andy goes on tour again and we don't get to see each other for a few months."
"What is it that you do Andy?" Jessica asks in her snotty voice, placing a little too friendly hand on his forearm. Arielle's stomach churns as she watches her soon to be sister-in-law flirt with her boyfriend. Andy holds onto her hand tighter as he explains that he sings in a band. Andy shrugs off her arm, standing the slightest bit closer to Arielle while the group begins to talk about what the plans are for the weekend.

"Scott!" Jessica squeals when Arielle's brother comes up behind her and kisses her cheek. Scott finally stops obsessing over his fiancée and pulls his sister into a hug. Arielle whispers into his ear, "your fiancée was flirting with my boyfriend."
"Jessica wouldn't do that. And why the fuck would you tell mom about Abby and I?" He hisses, "and that is your boyfriend."

They release from the tense hug, giving each other annoyed looks until Andy holds out his hand to shake. "I'm Andy, you're Scott if I'm not mistaken."
"Yes, I am. So you're the one dating my little sister?" Scott attempts to size Andy up, puffing out his chest slightly and standing a bit taller- except Andy is still three inches taller than him. Arielle rubs her hand across Andy's glistening back, leaning her head on his shoulder. He nods and looks down at his girlfriend with love. "Ya."
"Scott, we're going to go get our nails done. Arielle, are you sure you don't want to join us?" Her mother asks almost too innocently. Arielle shakes her head and presses her lips to Andy's cheek. "I'm actually having some jet lag so I think I might go take a nap."
Andy sighs, glancing at his watch, "I have to go get on a call as well so I guess we will see you later."

While Andy is out on the balcony smoking and talking on the phone, Arielle takes it upon herself to hang up their fancier clothes for the weekend. Andy groans, "will we be back for the holidays?"
Arielle laughs a bit while she hangs up her blue dress for the wedding. They are both still in their bathing suits and still salty hair. Her headphones are hanging in one ear as she listens to Notions by the ready set, humming along to the old song. Arielle sighs as one of her favorite songs is interrupted by a text from her mother.

Alissa: Arielle, we are having dinner downstairs at five. I expect the two of you will join us?

Arielle: I don't know mom, Andy's still on the phone and I am in need of a nap.

Alissa: yes, I can see him smoking from where I am sitting. How does that not disgust you?

Arielle: ugh. Can you please stop finding every possible thing about Andy to nit-pick! I love him and you need to let his appearance and smoking go.

She doesn't get a response after that. Arielle changes into a t-shirt and underwear after she hangs up Andy's suit and crawls into their bed. She feels the bed dip beside her just as she fades into a good sleep, a hand rubs her back and a kiss is left on her forehead.

Andy smiles as he looks down at Arielle, her fiery tipped hair wet but still gorgeous as he twirls it carefully around his fingers. He still doesn't understand why Ashley has been attempting to persuade him to cheat. They are in love and he would never hurt her like that. The girl he loves is his only interest currently, hopefully for a long time. Andy kisses her temple one last time before heading into the bathroom to take a selfie, knowing his fans will most likely fangirl over the picture of him shirtless.

A phone rings out in the main room, probably Arielle's. Andy makes his way back out to see the vacant caller I.D. Except for the L.A. Area code. He answers it quietly, not wanting to wake his girlfriend or for her to miss something important from work.

"Hello?" Andy asks quietly. Someone on the other end takes a deep breath and weakly asks, "is this Arielle?"
"No... May I ask who this is?"
"Crap. She must have changed her number-"
"Arielle is asleep right now so I answered for her." Andy runs a hand through his growing hair, walking back out to the balcony to light a cigarette. "You never told me who this was."
"I'm Dean, who are you?"
Andy looks back at his sleeping girlfriend in worry, "I'm Andy. Arielle's boyfriend."
