You Saved Me

Katie's POV: When we arrive at the mall, the girls drag me into a store I didn't catch the name of, but it's filled with dresses.
"What do you think, Alicia?" Red asked, "Form-fitting? Poofy? Strapless? Oh, cutout?"
"Hmm...How about a tight top and flowing skirt?" she asked, "Maybe try a few cut out's if Micro's comfortable with them."
"Sounds good to me," Red say, then drags me over to a rack. I sigh, rolling my eyes as she starts grabbing a bunch of dresses, and filling my arms with them. After a half an hour passes though, they both push me into the fitting room, and I sigh, but start trying on an modeling the dresses.
"Oh, la la," or "Not in a million years," seems to be the common answer to the ones they like or hate on me. After an hour, we have it narrowed from 28 dresses to 4 we all agree on, but can't seem to decide on.
We decide to get all of them then, and then we walk over to the shoes to decide which ones would go best with the 4 dresses we picked out.
"Anyway, it's not like you don't have time to choose which one to wear," Alicia says to me.
"I know," say with a smile.
"Do you know what Ashley's wearing?" Red asked me.
"Umm...a nice shirt and jeans?" I tell her, though it comes out more like a question.
"Any colors?" she presses.
"Black, I assume," I tell her.
She arches an eyebrow at me, then says, "You know what happens to people who assume shit, right?"
"Yeah, they don't go to heaven where the angels fly. They go to a lake of fire and fry. Oh, wait that's bad folks. Sorry," I say jokingly.
At my joke Alicia high fives me, laughing her ass off, while Red just freezes in place and slowly looks over at me, where she says, "You're one twisted bitch."
"And yet, you're friends with this twisted bitch," I counter with a laugh of my own.
At this point Red just stands there with her eyes closed and shaking her head, but you can clearly see she's trying to stop her own laughter. After a moment though, she opens her eyes, then says, "Here. Try these on," as she passes a pair of high heels to me.
"Yes, mummy," I say, taking the shoes from her with a smirk, making her roll her eyes at me again, and shake her head.
I try the shoes on, then walk around in them, getting a feel for walking in heels, since I rarely ever wear them. Once satified I won't fall and break my neck, I take them off, stick them back in the box, and say, "You're good."
A short time later, we all head up to the check out with our items and I pay for everything, against Red and Alicia's wishes. Once we have our bags in hand, we head out to the car, where we drive out to the pier and just walk around, talking, laughing, and snacking.
As the sun goes down over the water though, we know it's time to head home, so I drive out to the studio to drop Alicia at her car, and pick up the annoying Rocket. A short drive later, I have dropped Rocket and Red back at home, then head home to my brothers.
Once in the house, I'm attacked with hugs, then we all eat dinner and hang out for a bit. My family is awesome, and I wouldn't change a thing about it. Even though I lost my parents, I think they would want me to live my life to the fullest, and would be happy that I've found my brother. I like to think they are looking down on me now, from heaven, and saying, "That's our girl."
I go to bed after an hour of homework and chilling in the living room with my brothers, and fall asleep thinking about how blessed I really am.
