You Saved Me

My Choice

Katie's POV: When I make it down to breakfast, I grab the orange juice from the fridge and pour myself a glass, when I head Jayy ask, "Hey, Katie...Did you give anymore thought to our conversation last night?"
I sigh as I set the carton of juice down, and say, "Yeah. I did some major soul searching last night in fact."
"And?" he asked, pulling a chair out next to him, "What conclusion did you come to?"
I take a deep steadying breath, then say, "Over the next year or two, you'll probably see some major changes in me."
"Like what?" he presses.
I shrug, popping a piece of bacon between my teeth, "Don't know yet, but I do know, you'll know it when you see it, and it will be a change for the better."
"Well, that's good to hear. And Ashley?" Jayy asked, munching on some banana bread.
"I'm going to talk to him today," I tell him, between sips of my juice.
"Alright. And after school you're...What?" he asked.
"Going to the studio to talk to Ashley, then probably hangout there for a few and hit the pier with Red for some fun. Red thinks I need some girl time," I tell him, rolling my eyes at the thought of our conversation last night.
"I think that would be good for you too," Jayy says, "When was the last time you had girl time?"
"Umm...Never. What do you do during girl time?" I ask, munching on my toast now.
"Hmm...Not a clue. I may be gay, but even I don't have girl time," Jayy states, "My best guess would be just relaxing with your girlfriends, playing games like truth or dare, and maybe talking about random girl stuff"
I roll my eyes, but I guess he's right. I can't expect him to know everything about girls, even if he's more of a girl than me sometimes. Anyway, it might not be so bad, I think as I finish my breakfast and grab what I need.
"Driving yourself?" Jayy asked.
"Far as I know. I don't see Ashley anywhere, so he's probably still in bed," I say, "By the way, where's Dahvie?"
"He had a long night last night, so I let him sleep," Jayy says, putting his dishes in the dishwasher.
"Alright," I say.
"Why?" he asked.
"Just thought I'd borrow his bike today if he didn't mind, but it's cool. See ya, Jayy. Love ya!" I say, then head out to the driveway, and put the top down on my black and red Mustang. Once the tops down, I call Red and Rocket and ask if they want a lift. When they agree, I pull out of the drive, and head to their places.
I pick Red up first, and when she sees my car, she smiles and says, "Killer ride, Micro."
"Thanks. Thought I'd take her out for a spin today," I say, as she gets in the passengers side.
"Well, you thought well," she says approving of my decision, "And here I thought Ash would be driving you to school on the back of his motorcycle."
"Ha! I don't think that's going to happen for a while," I tell her, and from the corner of my eye I catch her look over at me in shock.
"Why not? You didn't break up again, did you?" she asked.
"No, but I'm going to ask that he minimizes his calls and text when he's on tour. I need time on my own or with my friends and brothers too, ya know?" I tell her.
"Okay, so in short you're asking for some space," she says.
"Basically," I tell her, turning into Rocket's driveway, and honking my horn repeatedly.
When he steps outside he says, "Alright! Alright! I'm here! No need for the alarm."
"Be careful, boy. I'll bring an air horn tomorrow," I tell him with a smirk as he hops over the side of my car, into the back seat.
"Please, don't," he says, laying down in the back seat, and throwing his arm over his eyes. He's never been a morning person as long as I've known him, and Red has told me she's never known him to be one either.
"Why are you picking us up anyway? Doesn't Ash usually take you to school?" Rocket asked from the back as I back out of the driveway.
"Yeah, but I think Jayy or Dahvie told him to back off for a few," I tell him, then shift the car into drive and speed down the deserted road, "Which I really don't mind too much."
In my rearview mirror I see Rocket shoot up in the back seat and look at me with wide eyes, then ask, "Wait, what?!"
"My thoughts exactly," Red says with a smirk.
"Yeah. I really don't mind if they did, since that's what I'm going to do later. Oh, and so you know we might have to push our date back an hour or so," I tell then, directing the last bit to Red.
"Date?" Rocket asked.
"Girls Night Out, basically," Red clearifies, with a laugh, then says, "But, yeah, I don't mind, Micro. Just text me when you're ready, and I'll head out to the pier."
"Shit, you're coming with me," I laugh at her.
"Where?" Rocket asked.
"To the studio. I'm going to talk to Ashley, then maybe hang out for a few and head to the pier with your girlfriend," I tell him, as we pull onto campus. I quickly park, then we make our way through the campus to the high school, Rocket and me on our boards, and Red using her pink and black Heelys to keep up with us.
"See you in French," I call to Red once inside the building, and stopping at my locker.
"You know it, babes!" she calls back, and saluting me.
I smile, then open my locker and place what I don't need inside, then head across the hall to my first class.
