The Mall
Katie's POV: When the Corpse Bride goes off, there's a knock on the bedroom door, and Ashley gets up. He walks over to the door, opening it to reveal Jayy.
Jayy smiles at me, then walks over to the bed, and asked how I'm feeling.
I shrug, then say, "Better than I was this morning."
"I'd bet on that," he says, "So what have you guys been doing?"
"Watching movies, but I'm bummed that I can't go out today," I tell him.
"Take your meds, and then we'll go somewhere," he says, "But one of us has to be with you the whole time, understood?"
I beam at him, then get up from the bed, moving over to the bathroom to get my bag, but can't find it. I look around the bathroom some, then Ashley's leaning against the door frame, with a cocky smile on his face, and says, "Looking for these?" as he holds up the bottle.
"Yes," I say, grabbing the bottle, "Thank you."
"No problem, baby," he says, kissing my cheek and passing me a bottle of water.
I quickly take the pills, then slip my Hello Kitty Vans on, and we all head out to Jayy's car. We get in, then Jayy asked, "Where to?"
"The mall," I tell him, "Ashley owes me a new rave outfit."
"Why? Did he get overly excited?" Jayy asked with a chuckle.
"No. Just said it's for his eyes only and that he'd get me one to replace it," I tell him, as he backs out of the driveway.
"Ah," is all Jayy says, then we sing along to the radio while driving there. Ashley helps me from the car, and then we head inside, getting some odd looks the whole time, but fuck those narrow minded assholes.
We walk over to a place that sells rave wear, and I begin looking through some of the skimpy outfits, when Ashley holds up a rainbow zebra print romper. I smile and tell him I love it, then we continue to look through the sets.
We find a bunch of rompers and fluffies, then head over to the tutus, where on the way I see a beautiful costume. I walk over to it, and read the tag that says "Miss Cyanide costume."
"That's cute," Ashley says, then looks for it in my size. When he finds one, he holds it up to me, and says, "Mmm, sexy."
I giggle, then we head over to the tutus, where I pick out a few I absolutely love. I head into the dressing room after picking out what I like, then model all the outfits, while Jayy and Ashley give me their opinions.
Normally I don't really care for shopping, but this is actually kind of nice. I come out in the Miss Cyanide costume next, and Ashley pulls me to him with a smirk.
"Damn you're sexy," he says to me, then spins me around, and pulls me into a dip. I grin like a fool up at him, then kiss his nose, and he says, "How the hell did I get so lucky?"
I giggle as he pulls us from the dip, and say, "I should be asking you that. I'm the lucky one if you really think about it."
"We're both very lucky then," he says, kissing me again, then releasing me, and I head back into the fitting room.
I slip out of the outfit, then try on another costume, that reminds me of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, and have to get Ashley to take a picture of it, and send it to Sammi and Jinxx, to get their opinion on this one. Once I have the whole outfit on, I step out into the viewing area, and say, "Baby? Would you please share this one with Jinxx and Sammi, to get their opinion?"
He chuckles, then says, "Sure, babe," then walks over and helps me pose, and snaps the picture. He smirks at it, then messes with his phone and puts it in his pocket.
"And what's your opinion, guys?" I ask.
"I love it. It's fluffy," Jayy says.
"Me too," Ashley says, and I head back in the room to try on another. This goes on for about an half hour or so, before I've tried all the outfits on, and we head up to the check out, where Ashley pays for it, despite my arguing.
I then look down at my promise ring, and pull Jayy aside.
"I want to get Ashley a promise ring like mine," I tell him, when we're out of ear shot.
"Alright. I'll take you to the jewelry store he got yours at, after I distract him," He whispers back, and walks over to Ashley, and says, "Hey, man. Micro and I are going to go somewhere for a bit. You know, bro/sis time but we'll meet you at say Hot Topic in an hour tops?"
Ashley nods, then says, "Yeah. Sure, man. Go ahead. Have fun."
"Alright. Thanks, man," Jayy says, then we walk out and head to the left. We walk for a few moments, until he takes me into this small jewelry shop, where a man greets us, and asked if we needed anything.
"Yes," I say, then show him my ring, and ask, "Do you have anything like this for a man? It's the promise ring my boyfriend got me, and I need one for him too."
"I think we do, in fact," the man says, examining my ring, "Follow me."
We follow him over to a glass counter that has tons of rings in it. He walks behind the counter, unlocks it, then grabs a ring out, and passes it to me. I look at the ring, and smile, realizing it's perfect.
I nod, then say, "I'll take it, but could you please engrave our initials into it?"
"Absolutely," he says with a kind smile, "What are they?"
"A.P. for my boyfriend, and K.M.V. for me," I tell him.
"Your boyfriend wouldn't happen to be a man named Ashley Purdy would he?" the man asked, writing the letters on a small notebook.
"Yeah," I tell him, "How'd you know?"
"Then that makes you Katie," he says, "I've done business with Ashley many times in the past, and when he came in for a promise ring, he told me all about you. He's very fond of you, my dear."
I blush, then say, "I see. Well, thank you very much."
"You're very welcome," he says, "I'll have this ready in 15 minutes, if you would like that."
"That's perfect. Thank you," I tell him, then he passes my ring back to me, and walks in the back.
Jayy and I walk around the store, looking like we're looking for something for ourselves, just in case Ashley decides to walk past, and sees us. I don't want him to know I'm doing this, until I give it to him.
Also, how do you give someone a promise ring anyway? How should I give mine to Ashley? I'm not sure so I ask Jayy, hoping he can come up with a good way.
"Well, when do you want to give it to him?" Jayy asked.
"I kind of want to give it to him tonight," I tell him.
"Then here's the deal," Jayy says, and whispers the plan in my ear.
I smile up at him, then say, "That's perfect! Thanks, Jayy!"
I hug him tight around his waist, and he hugs me back, and says, "No problem. Just remember not to slip up about it, until you've done all that I told you, and you'll be fine."
"Alright," I say, beaming up at my big brother.
