Chapter 8
-Ash's POV-
"No Ash stop! This isn't what she would've wanted you to do!" Andy ran up behind me and grabbed the bass from me, handing it to Jinxx. He held out his arms to me, I collapsed into them sobbing. "I should've been there with her Andy! I can't even comfort her because look at the fucking mess I made!" I cried out. I slid onto the floor and held my head in my hands. 'Why? Why couldn't I have just seen my baby girl!' I must have sat there for a while because I looked at my phone to check the time. "Shit." I mumbled to myself. I jumped when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I looked up to see Jinxx smiling sadly down at me. "Ash, we need to go and take her to the hospital now. You need to go." He said gently, I just didn't want to move. I didn't want to do anything, but cry and cry some more. Soon we left and went to the house. I didn't speak the whole way there and no one spoke to me. I walked into the house and went to mine and Caysens room. I walked in to see her sleeping, I smiled and walked over to her. "Caysen?" I whispered in her ear, I saw her eyes flutter open. They were red and puffy. She looked me in the eyes and wrapped her arms around my neck whispering "I-I saw her Ash! In my dream, she was beautiful. She said for us not to mourn for her, but to be happy that she never had to suffer. Sh-She also said her name was Harley. Harley Alessa Purdy." She whispered. I nodded and picked her up in my arms.
Soon we had our little Harley removed from her. She wasn't big. Maybe the size of the palm of my hand. We had a funeral for her on what would've been her birthday.
-Present time-
I snapped out of my flashback as I pullEd into the driveway. The kids hopped out and ran inside with Jenna, most likely to give her the grand tour. Caysen held my hand as we walked through the front door. I went to grab a phone I had bought for who the kids had picked out. Since I didn't know if it was going to be a boy or a girl, I picked out a yellow otterbox. I handed the phone to Jenna when the kids hauled her into the living room. She looked at me with a huge smile. "Oh my god, thank you wo much mom and dad!" I laughed as she gave us both a hug. She sat on the couch and when she did, I noticed one of her bracelets shifted to reveal a angry red mark across her wrist. I might as well ask to make sure it's not what I think. "Jenna, do you self harm? I need to know if you do, it won't change how we think about you. I promise." She looked like a deer in the headlights before nodding slowly. I sighed before saying "How long?" She looked at her feet before saying "2 almost 3 years." I felt tears start to well up in my eyes, I need to know her story. "Jenna, me and Caysen need to know your story okay? You're our daughter now you can tell us anything." She nodded and said "Well get comfy cause its gonna take a while."
