"Andy?" You squeeze his hand gently. "It's me..you know who I am right?"
He frowns slightly, looking confused. Your chest tightens. Your grip loosens on his hand a little bit.
"Uh, have we met? You look sorta familiar."
You bite your lip, tears threatening to spill over.
"Andy, it's Bree." Ashley encourages
He shakes his head "I don't know anyone called Bree, sorry."
You take a sharp breath in, standing up and quietly departing the room and gently shutting the door behind you. Frustration bubbles up inside you, you kick at the plastic waiting room chairs, eventually throwing them when they don't move. You even punch at one until you're completely overcome and end up melting to the floor, weeping into the cold frame. You don't react as arms close in around you, Ashley pulling you onto his lap and slowly rocking you as you sob. You pant and hiccup into his shirt, scraped and bleeding hands balled into fists in your lap. The salt from your tears burn your eyes and nose. You're crying so vehemently that your whole body shakes with the force of it, Ashley tenderly strokes your hair, not saying anything.
