“Please Andy? For me?” Odessa pouted, her bottom lip sticking out in such an adorable way that he couldn’t deny her.

“Fine. You have to wear yours all day too…” He said as he took the hat from her and stuffed it on his head. Atleast the Mickey Ears that she had picked out for him were Jack Skellington themed.

“We look adorable.” She laughed as she came over to him, a pair of Minnie Ears on her own head. She looked adorable in her ears as it was actually a head band that had some feathers and a broach along with the ears. Andy just looked ridiculously moronic in his opinion.


Dess paid for their hats and then began to tug on his hand. Andy followed behind her, a soft smile on his face as he saw how happy she was in this moment. They walked hand in hand and every once and a while Andy would stop to meet with a small group of fans, but Dess didn’t mind. She knew he loved his fans and that they meant the world to him.

It was surprising to Dess however that the fans seemed to really like her and some even wanted pictures with her and Andy and a few with just her. Smiling she obliged once again as a girl who was maybe Moira’s age approached them as they were waiting in line for the Tea Cups.


“Hey…I don’t want to bother you, but Andy can I have your autograph? Please?” Odessa smiled as Andy nodded and moved to sign the piece of paper that the girl held out to him.

“You’re Odessa right? I love how cute you guys are together.” The girl said over to Dess as she smiled down at her. The girl was about a head shorter than her and her hair was bright orange, Dess felt a kinship to this girl as she stood there.

“Yeah. Thanks…he means the world to me…even though his breath smells really bad in the morning.” She laughed as the girl giggled, Andy just handed the girl her paper back and turned to kiss Dess on the cheek.

“Thanks so much!” The girl said happily over her shoulder as she exited the line, leaving Odessa and Andy alone together.

“I’m happy that the fans finally seem to be warming up to the idea of you and I.” He said as she smiled up at him, both of them moving forward with the line.

“Well you post enough pictures of us together online. To see you anymore they kind of have to look at me.”She laughed as they were let through the gate of the ride and headed over towards a light pink cup.

“I can’t help it if we’re both so photogenic.” He smirked at her as an attendant came over to lock the small door on their cup. Slowly they began to spin, but with a devilish look on his face Andy took control over the dial in the middle and began to pull it towards him quickly.

“Andy!” Dess laughed loudly as they spun faster and faster. She threw her head back, her pigtails flying out behind her and Andy felt his heart lighten.


She hadn’t smiled like that in weeks and it felt good to know that he was making her happy. He kept them spinning until finally their ride was over and he looked over at her. She was out of breath from laughing and quietly he leaned over towards her from across the cup and placed a soft kiss to her lips.

They exited the ride and off in the distance Andy saw his favorite ride. Grabbing for her hand Andy pulled Dess along behind him until finally they were standing in front of a large white house. The Haunted Mansion. Gleefully he led her towards the entrance and he felt her stiffen as the sounds of howling and creaking came out from hidden speakers. He smiled down at her reassuringly as they entered and made their way through the ride.


“Are you having fun today?” He asked her as they quickly got into the moving vehicle and he draped an arm around her shoulders as she smiled over at him.

“I am. Thank you so much for pulling me out of my madness this morning.” She leaned in, her head coming to rest against his shoulder as they laughed and joked their way through the ride. He loved her and Andy knew that he couldn’t completely take away her pain, but he could absolutely try his hardest to distract her from it.


They made their way through the day slowly, stopping to meet characters and Odessa laughed as Andy stood and took pictures with Mickey and Minnie. She laughed even harder when Minnie wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. The princesses were especially fun as they were fascinated by the two of them, Ariel really seemed to love Dess’ tattoo on her leg, which was of Ariel herself. Andy smiled as they passed through the day, but he knew that in less than a month it would be time for the start of their UK Tour.

Finally Andy noticed that the sun was beginning to set behind the trees and it was time for them to head towards his very last surprise of the day. Ushering her towards the front of the park Andy felt happy as Odessa giggled and laughed along with him. Finally they made it to a small roped off area that sat right in front of the castle.

In the middle of the ropes was a small bench, big enough for the two of them and Andy knew it was perfect. Nodding to the attendant who was guarding the small space Andy held out a hand for Odessa to move in front of him. She looked at him, her green eyes shining in the setting sun and he felt his heart swell.


“What’s this about?” She asked as they both sat down, her legs draped over his lap softly as he placed his hands on her tired calves and began to rub and massage the muscle softly.

“They do a parade and fireworks show every night. I set it up so that we could not only have a front row seat, but just a seat in general.” He smiled over at her and Odessa felt tears spring to her eyes.

“Oh babe…” She started but was cut off by loud music starting over from their right. They both watched, their faces childlike and happy as parade float after parade float passed them by.


Andy held onto Dess, his face happy that her face was lit up not just by the lights from the floats, but she had this glow about her, like she truly felt happy and free in that moment.
Suddenly the music faded and Andy felt his arms wrap around Odessa as she shivered in the cool night air.

Everything was perfect in that moment-they’d had a really fun day together and he had hoped that her birthday would be more special this year since it was the first one that they were together for. She sighed loudly, looking over at him her eyes were wide as soft music began to play. He heard her humming along quietly and suddenly the sky was bright with colors exploding every few seconds.

Andy felt like his heart was exploding with every firework as he looked next to him. The smile on Odessa’s face was like the one he had seen in the back of her photo album and he swore he would make her smile like that every day for the rest of her life. It was funny the way things seemed to be working out…they had tried so hard at first to not feel things for one another, Dess especially, and he couldn’t imagine not ever having loved her. He reached for her hand and brought her so that she was sitting in his lap, his arms wrapped around her chest as he pressed his cheek against hers. He felt her tears on his cheek and he knew by the look on her face that they were obviously happy ones.

The night was coming to an end and as the fireworks ceased and people around them began to clear from the park, Andy held her there. He felt her hands come to rest atop his and he kissed her head softly as she rested it against his chest. They watched as the castle faded from one color to the next and Andy felt totally at peace. His mind wasn’t on any of the sadness that plagued their lives-no all he thought of was the girl in his arms and how right his world felt now that she was a part of it.


“Thank you for the best birthday Andy.” She said up at him and he smiled down at her as he felt her lips graze his neck.

“I love you so much Dess.” He placed his lips on hers then, their mouths molding into one another as they embraced softly.

“More then you can ever scream?” She asked him playfully as they parted.

“Always Dess…always.” He said before taking her lips into his once again and showing her just how much he truly did love her.
