I Gave It All

Forty-Two

Claudia's POV~~

"Claudia!? We're here!" CC yelled. I groaned and got out of my bunk with slight difficulty. Once I got out, I stretched and grabbed my already packed duffel and back pack. I walked out of the bus with Ashley behind me and Jinxx in front of me. I followed Jinxx into Ashley's house, loving the idea of finally being able to have a decent shower. I then frowned, remembering that Jake and I had shared a room.

"I've got you covered." Ashley whispered in my ear, giving me the chills.

"Do you?" I asked.

"Yep. Follow mwah." He said. I laughed and followed him down the hall. He opened the door to CC's room.

"Here, take CC's room. He won't need it." Ashley said.

"Thanks Ash." I said as I walked in the room. I set my stuff in front of the bed and turned around and headed into the bathroom. I grabbed a towel and walked in, shutting the door behind me. I hung the towel up and turned the shower on. I stripped myself of my clothes while I waited for the water to heat up. Once it did, I stepped in, immediately relaxing as the warm water enveloped me. All the stress from the tour vanished as I washed my hair and body. I then shaved my legs and got out, not wanting to leave the guys and Sammi with cold water. I sprinted down the hall and into my bedroom. I found some clean clothes and threw them on, then proceeded to brush my hair. After I was done with that, I put some makeup on and brushed my teeth. I heard a knock on the front door about twenty minutes.

"Claudia! It's Austin!" CC yelled.

"Coming!" I yelled back. I was in my room, listening to Escape The Fate. I turned my music off and walked down the hall, meeting Austin in the living room. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he hoisted me up, planting his lips firmly on mine. He pulled away and grinned at me, and of course I returned it. Who couldn't? I jumped down off of Austin and took his hand in mine as I said goodbye to all the guys, excluding Sammi and Jinxx who were showering. We both left and slowly walked to his car silently. Austin opened the door for me and I said a thank you before he closed it. He walked around to the other side and got in. The keys were already in the ignition, he just turned them and the car started right up.

"So.. got any plans for tonight?" I asked.

"Well, Aaron and Alan are coming over... Shayley is too." Austin said.

"Isn't he in another band now?" I asked.

"Yep." Austin said.

"So, what are we doing then?" I asked.

"We might watch a movie... or we could go to the movies.. if that's cool with you." Austin said.

"That sounds fun." I said with a smile.

"Good. We're here." Austin said. I stepped out of the car and followed Austin inside, noticing Alan, Aaron, and Shayley sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn.

"Hey Claudia!!" Aaron exclaimed.

"Hi Aaron." I said with a smile.

"So.. this is who you were telling me about last night." Shayley said. Austin nodded and kissed my cheek before heading to the kitchen and returning with a glass of water.

"Make yourself at home babe." Austin said. I smiled and took a seat on the love seat. Austin sat next to me and put his arm over my shoulders. I snuggled up to him and he rubbed my shoulder with his thumb.

"I feel like singing..." I said quietly so only Austin could hear.

"Well.. you should sing me something then." He said back just as quietly.

"What should I sing?" I asked.

"Anything you want." He said with a smile. I also smiled, knowing a great song that I could sing.

"Oh! I know what song." I said. The other three men looked at me with confused faces.

"What would that be?" Austin asked.

"Therapy by All Time Low. I absolutely adore that song." I said.

"Alright. Go ahead and sing it then. I know you can." Austin said. I blushed as I took a second to make sure I knew all the words. I took a deep breath before starting the first verse.

" My ship went down In a sea of sound. When I woke up alone I had everything: A handful of moments I wished I could change And a tongue like a nightmare that cut like a blade."

I looked over at Aaron. He was smiling like a retard. I flew into the second verse with no hesitation.

" In a city of fools, I was careful and cool, But they tore me apart like a hurricane... A handful of moments I wished I could change But I was carried away.

" Give me therapy. I'm a walking travesty But I'm smiling at everything. Therapy... You were never a friend to me And you can keep all your misery."

I looked over at Shayley next. He had an impressed look on his face. I smiled and hit the next verse.

" My lungs gave out As I faced the crowd. I think that keeping this up could be dangerous. I'm flesh and bone, I'm a rolling stone And the experts say I'm delirious.

" Give me therapy. I'm a walking travesty But I'm smiling at everything. Therapy... You were never a friend to me And you can take back your misery.

I looked at Alan. He was swaying to the sound of my voice, and I continued on.

" Arrogant boy, Love yourself so no one has to. They're better off without you. (They're better off without you.)

" Arrogant boy, Cause a scene like you're supposed to. They'll fall asleep without you. You're lucky if your memory remains.

" Give me therapy. I'm a walking travesty But I'm smiling at everything. Therapy... You were never a friend to me And you can take back your misery."

I looked at Austin and he smiled wide as I finished the song.

" Therapy... I'm a walking travesty But I'm smiling at everything. Therapy... You were never a friend to me And you can choke on your misery."

"That was beautiful babe." Austin said. I smiled as he kissed my cheek.

"That was incredible. Have you ever considered going solo?" Shayley asked.

"No... but I don't think I want to go solo. If I were to do something involving music, I'd want to be in a band." I said. Shayley nodded.

"I understand where you're coming from." Austin said.

"So, movie or not? It's almost seven." Aaron said.

"We can just watch one here." Austin said. I nodded.

"What movie?" I asked.

"Hmm.. not Harry Potter... but Pirates of The Caribbean." Austin said.

"Which one?" I asked.

"On Stranger Tides." Aaron said. I smiled. Austin got up to put the movie in, and my phone started ringing.

"Excuse me guys." I said as I saw CC's name pop up. They nodded as I exited the room. I paced the hallway while I answered.

"Hey cuz... what's up?" I asked.

"Umm... something happened." CC said. He sounded worried.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Ashley... He..." CC said. He was choking on his own words, and I knew he was crying.

"Tell me CC! I can't help if I don't know what's going on." I said calmly.

"Ashley... He went out for... for groceries... and.. He got in a... car accident." CC said in between sobs. I stood there, shocked as tears found their way out of my eyes.

"Can you get.. to the hospital tonight?" CC asked.

"Yes. I'll be there. Bye." I said as I hung up. I walked back into the living room with my arms crossed and tears spilling out of my eyes. Austin turned around and saw me, and his eyes filled with sadness.

"Claudia... what's wrong?" Austin asked as he rushed over to me, engulfing me in his arms.

"Ashley's in the hospital.." was all I could muster out. Austin tensed up and pulled away, still holding my shoulders.

"What happened?" He asked quietly.

"He got in a car crash on his way for groceries." I sobbed. Austin's eyes widened and he brought me into him again.

"We need to get to the hospital..." I said. Austin nodded and we both walked out to his car in silence. We both got in and Austin started the car up, and backed out of the driveway. We drove to the hospital in silence, which was okay, because I was still bawling my eyes out. We arrived at the hospital and I didn't even wait for Austin to park before I clambered out of the car and walked into the two front doors. I heard Austin running behind me as I the receptionist. He smiled at me, but his smile soon disappeared as he saw my face.

"Can I help you?" He asked as Austin reached me.

"Can you tell me what room Ashley Purdy is in." I said.

"Mr. Purdy is in room.... 419 on the third floor." He said.

"Thanks." Austin said for me. I grabbed his hand as we made our way to the elevator. I wiped my eyes as we entered, and Austin pushed the third floor button. The only noise that was heard was my sobs. The elevator dinged and the doors opened, letting us walk out. We turned a few corners and found Ashley's room. Everybody was waiting outside except CC and Andy. We walked up and I gave them all hugs, including Jake. The door opened and Andy exited, gesturing for someone to go inside. Nobody else volunteered, so I went in. There was a white sheet hanging up, separating the two beds in the room. Ashley was obviously on the other side of that white sheet. I was almost afraid to go behind it, but I mustered up all my courage and took in the scene before me.
