I Gave It All

Claudia's POV~~

Jake and I arrived home about ten minutes later. I was furious with my aunt. I killed the engine and got out of the car. I slammed the door behind me and I walked inside the house, not even waiting for Jake. He entered the house after me with an expressionless face. He walked up to me and tried to hug me, but I stepped back and sat on the couch.

"Are you okay?" Jake asked.

"Oh yeah! Just peachy!" I said sarcastically. Jake looked at me.

"Hey, no need to get all angry, alright? It's not my fault." Jake said.

"Thing is, she does that to everyone I bring with me to see her. It doesn't matter if I'm dating them or not! It could be my bestfriend for fucks sake!" I said as I raised the volume of my voice.

"Calm down. You don't have to see her ever again if you don't want to."

"It's not that simple Jake!"

"How so?"

"She will either find me in public, or she'll hunt me down." I said.

"I won't let that happen." Jake said calmly. I rolled my eyes. She'll find me just to criticize me. It will happen. Jake gave me a 'don't roll your eyes at me' look. I sighed and stood up. I gently pushed past him and entered the backyard. I noticed that Ashley had swings, so I walked over to them and sat in the middle one. I looked up at the sky just as a raindrop fell on my face. I looked straight ahead in front of me while the rain grew steadier, keeping up a fast rhythm. In minutes, my hair and clothes were drenched. Through the sliding glass door in front of me, I saw CC standing there, looking at me. He opened the door and I saw his lips moving, but I couldn't hear what he was saying because of the heavy rain. I gave him a confused look. He sighed and grabbed an umbrella. He opened it and walked outside, leaving the door open. He walked over to me and he stood in front of me.

"You should come inside!" CC said. He made himself heard over the rain.

"Why should I!?" I asked.

"Because it'll only get colder! I'm already frozen!" CC said.

"Whatever CC! I could care less right now!" I said.

"Come on! I'll make you some hot chocolate! Anyway, there's supposed to be a storm all weekend!" CC said. CC held his hand out for me to take. I took it and stood up. I stood under the umbrella with him only to realize how cold I was. Thunder roared in the sky, followed by a great flash of lightning. We both walked inside and CC grabbed a blanket for me, but I declined. I made my way into the bathroom where I took a warm shower. I regained the feeling of my fingers and toes, so I got out and wrapped myself in a towel. I quickly got dressed in sweats and a hoodie. I left my hair alone and I walked into the kitchen where everyone was. CC was taking my hot chocolate or of the microwave. He handed it to me with a smile and I took a seat next to Jake.

"So, I heard you were out in the rain." Jake said. I stared at my drink and shrugged.

"Come on babe. Talk to me." Jake said. I took a breath, but didn't say anything. The only thing that followed was a sneeze. I sneezed into my shoulder and Jake placed his hand on my thigh. Everyone was looking at us. I stood up and pulled Jake with me. I dragged him down the hall and into our room. He looked at me with confusion.
