I sat with my knees hugged to my chest as I watched the wave’s crash onto the shore outside of my apartment’s bay windows. I sighed in content, it was almost ten in the morning and I had managed to take my morning jog along the beach, clean the whole apartment from top to bottom, feed my two dogs and make myself breakfast. I had managed to do all of this and still my brother Ashley and our roommate and best friend Andy were still sound asleep. I was pretty sure both would wake up with splitting headaches from the hangovers I knew they would have. We and the guys had been out around town all last night and I was the designated driver.

I chuckled to myself thinking about last night’s events and smiled. I looked over in the corner and saw my two dogs Killer and Tokyo sleeping in their little beds. I guess I was the only one awake in the apartment. I brushed a stray strand of hair that must have fallen out of my messy bun away from my face and behind my ear. Just as I did I heard a loud groan come from one of the bedrooms and I laughed lightly knowing exactly who was finally awake. I could hear lazy footsteps coming towards me and I rolled my eyes playfully as I saw a big mass of messy black hair come my way through the reflection in the window.

“I see someone’s finally risen from the dead.” I joked right as a felt a warm pair of arms wrap around my waist.

“My head hurts.” Andy whined as he nuzzled his head into my shoulder.

“It’s your own fault for drinking so much.” I said looking up to face him.

“You know, you are way too perky for the morning. How long have you been up?”

“I think since like 5:30.” I said shrugging like it was no big deal.

“What the- why were you up so early?”

“I went jogging cleaned up the apartment, feed the dogs and made myself breakfast.”

“You’re crazy.” He mumbled making it clear he still wasn’t fully awake.

“But you love it.” I said smirking. He let out a small chuckle and bite my shoulder before kissing my cheek.

“I love you.” He mumbled into my neck.

“Uh huh, there are pain killers and a glass of water on the kitchen counter for you sleepy head.” I stated he hugged me before stumbling into the kitchen. I shook my head and got up and walked into the kitchen behind him. I leaned against the counter and just watched him silently. He was just so adorable when he was sleepy he really couldn’t function properly and the fact that he was in only his boxers didn’t help.

When he finished downing the pills and water he slowly walked over to me. He lifted me up onto the counter and rested himself between my legs. I smiled before wrapping my arms around his neck, he smirked to himself and I knew exactly what he was thinking.

“Don’t even say it.” I warned. He just awed and petted my head like I was a puppy.

“You’re just so tiny it’s cute.”

“I like being five-four thank you. You’re the one that’s freakishly tall, you giant. ” Andy just chuckled before gripping my waist and planting his lips on mine. I smiled into our kiss. I truly did love this guy, he was just amazing. Putting more pressure into our kiss Andy leaned forward one of his hands slowly making its way up my shirt. I fought off a moan just as we heard another door open.

Quickly we pulled apart and I patted my shirt down and hopped off the counter. I pretended like I was getting out pots and pans to start cooking while Andy grumbled to himself and looked through the refrigerator for food. My big brother Ashley came stumbling into the kitchen with a blank expression on his face. Yep he defiantly had a hangover.

“Morning Ash, did you get the painkillers and water I put on your nightstand?” I asked as he sat down at the island resting his head on the table. He groaned telling me in his own way that he took them. “You want your usual for breakfast?” He lifted his hand and waved telling me that he wanted breakfast. “Andy you want your usual too?” I turned to him and asked. He just nodded.

“You guys are so quite this morning.” I stated, it wasn’t a bad silence but usually they were both so loud.

“It hurts to talk.” Ash grumbled. “It makes my head hurt.”

“Well you could always lie back down. I’ll get you when your food is ready.” I offered. Ashley slowly stood up and nodded.

“I’ll just crash on the couch.” He mumbled before kissing my forehead and walking into the living room. I wasted no time in starting to prepare his breakfast. If my brother asked me to do something, I’d do it and I’d do it quickly. I owe my brother everything I have in life, I don’t know where I’d be if he hadn’t taken me in. My brother is my savior, he really is.

I put bacon in a pan and watched it start to sizzle, I turned to Andy watched as he started to poor himself a bowl of Cheerios. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion at him, I thought he wanted his usual for breakfast not cereal.

“Andy I thought you wanted your usual?”

“Naw you’ve been busy all morning, I think you deserve to relax.” I rolled my eyes and walked over to the cabinet to get plates. I had to stand on the tip of my toes to reach and I still barely made it.

“Andy I like taking care of you guys it’s my job.” I stated still trying to reach a plate. Andy chuckled and grabbed a few and handed them to me. I just looked at him and pouted, [i]why is he so god damn tall?[/i]. I eyed him up and pouted even more. I was so short I barely went up to his shoulder.

“You need to shrink.”

“Or maybe you just need to grow taller.” He retorted and I just stuck my tongue out at him. Andy growled playfully and pinned me against the wall. He kissed me roughly and squeezed my hips. I gasped as his touch sent shockwaves through my whole body leaving a tingly sensation.

“Andy, Ash might hear us.” I whispered. Andy sighed loudly and pulled away.

“You know things would be so much easier if you would just tell him instead of keeping us a secret.” Andy whispered annoyance clear in his voice. I frowned, he knows I don’t like keeping us a secret, its just that Ashley would probably rip his head off is he knew Andy and I were together. Ashley is wicked protective of me, he’s fought off every guy that has ever come near me. Andy’s the first and only boyfriend I’ve ever had. No guy has ever come near me because they were afraid of Ash. That’s why I can’t tell Ash about Andy and I, he’d flip out and we’d never get any privacy. And if Ashley ever found out that Andy took my v-card oh Andy would be dead, six feet under dead. Ashley can’t stand the idea of any guy touching me and I don’t blame him.

I know its not fair to Andy we’ve been dating secretly for almost two years now. I know he wants to be able to show me off to the world and be able to tell people that we’re together, I do to. But I really am afraid of what Ashley will think or do. Plus I just don’t want him to have to worry about me. He’s been doing it his whole life, Ashley doesn’t need to stress himself out with worrying about me all the time.

“Andy I swear I’ll tell him soon.”

“When? We’re going on tour next week, we’ll never have anytime together alone. Jade baby you know I love you but I don’t know how much longer I can put up with this.” He whispered and I cupped his face in my hands.

“Please don’t say that.”

“I’m sorry, you know I didn’t mean that, it’s just that hiding us bothers me sometimes.”

“I know and I’m sorry, it bothers me too, but you don’t understand, Ashley will completely flip out and it won’t be a good thing.”

“I know, I get it, I’ll drop it. You better get Ash he food before you burn it all.” Andy said an amused look on his face when he saw my eyes get wide. I completely forgot I was cooking. I rushed over to the stove and sighed in relief when I realized my food wasn’t burnt, but was ready to serve instead. I grabbed Ashley’s bacon and eggs and put them on one plate while putting his pancakes on another. I put them on a tray and poured some orange juice before placing the glass on the tray as well. I picked it up and carried it into the living room.

Ashley was sitting up and watching Adventure Time. I rolled my eyes and he looked up when he sniffed the air smelled his food. I placed the tray in his lap and smiled.

“Jade sweetie, you could have told me that you finished cooking I would have gotten up and got my food. You didn’t have to bring it to me.”

“But I wanted to. I wanted to cater to you because you don’t feel well, you always take care of me when I don’t feel well.”

“I’m your big brother it’s my job to take care of you.”

“You’ve done enough of that already; it’s my turn to take care of you.”

“Okay but just this once.” Ashley stated seriousness in his tone. I lightly punched his arm before sitting down on the sofa next to him. Andy walked in a few minutes later munching on his bowl of cereal.

“Aw I’ve already seen this episode.” He whined and Ash and I shushed him.

“This episode is hilarious.” We both said in unison both not letting our eyes leave the TV.

Andy just huffed before sitting down next to me. I smiled to myself in complete content. I had my two favorite men in my life sitting next to me, while we all just sat around and enjoyed life. Today was off to a very good start.
