*Adelyn's POV*

'Jaydelyn! Get up right now!'

I yelled at my six year old sister. I was watching her this morning because my mother was at her doctors appointment. She had to see where the terminal cancer was spreading to. I had a lot of fears about mom's cancer because of her time to live. I wanted to push this thought aside but it kept returning.

'Jaydelyn. Please get up. It's the last day of school, princess.'

I said, rubbing my sisters arm. She popped right up & started getting ready. I laughed. I straightened my hair & did my makeup with my thick eyeliner & eyeshadow.I pushed the piercing rings through all of the places that were pierced & then put my outfit together. I put on a black Black Veil Brides shirt & black ripped skinny jeans with combat boots & i walked into Jaydelyn's room.

'Come on, baby. Let's get you to the bus stop.'

She smiled at me as we started walking. I walked her to the bus stop & waited until the bus left.

*Skip school*

I picked Jaydelyn up from her bus stop like i usually did, but it was a surprise when we got home & mom wasn't there. I figured *Okay, maybe she's running late.* I pushed the thought aside.

'Where's mommy?'

Jaydelyn asked. I frowned.

'Baby girl, i don't know. She's probably still at work. She'll be home soon.'

I said, smiling into those brown eyes of hers. I started to get worried around 6:30 when i had to make dinner. But i didn't let the worry show. I was completely stable until i got the phone call. I recognized the number as the hospital.

'Jay, you stay right here & you don't move. You hear?'

I said before walking out into the hallway of our apartment.She nodded her head. I answered the phone.

Me ; Hello?
Nurse ; Hi, Is this Adylen?
Me ; Yes, may i please ask whos calling...
Nurse ; This is Nurse Jacky from the hospital. You are aware that your mother has stage four terminal cancer, correct?
Me ; Correct, what are you getting at?
Nurse ; Your mom has passed away tonight. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Me ; What's going to happen to me & my sister...
Nurse ; A social worker is on her way to your house now, if your father cannot be located, you & your sister will be split & put into foster care..

I hung up. I couldn't bare this news. My mom was gone. My motherfucking mom was gone. The cancer got her. Just this morning she was going to see where it was. Not to die! I didn't get to say goodbye... I slid down the wall & cried.

'She's gone...'

I whispered to no one but myself. She was gone, my mother was really gone. She had been the best mom anyone could be. She loved me. She supported Jaydelyn& I through everything & never stopped listening even when she was probably the one who needed to be listened to. I can't believe she was gone. She was so young too.. She was so young when she had me. Only 17.. She was 32 now.. I don't know why this happened.

'Hello sweetie, i'm Lisa.'

A nice voice said. I looked up & wiped the tears from my eyes.

'Uh, hello. We should probably get inside, let me go first & put Jay to sleep.'

I said through the tears. I stood up & collected myself for a minute. I opened the door, she was out on the couch. It made it easier on me. I picked up her light body & carried her to her bed. I tucked her into the blankets & let her sleep. I walked back out.

'Come on in, Lisa.'

I said.

'I'm sorry about your loss.'

She said right away. I gave a weak smile. That was all i could do.. I mean, my mom just died. What else was i supposed to do?

'So i have a lead on your father. Jake Pitts.. He lives in LA. I'm going to call him & then give you a call.. Alright.'

That was the last thing she said to me. I nodded.

*Jake's POV*

I was getting a phone call.

Me ; Hello.
Lady ; Is this Jake Pitts?
Me ; Yes, who is this, please?
Lady ; My name is Lisa & I'm a social worker. Do you remember a Arianna Regretts?
Me ; *I gasped at the name* Yes, she was my first high school girlfriend. Why?
Lady ; Because you have 2 children with her. One 16, one 6. Arianna died this evening. If you don't take custody of the girls, they'll be separated & put in foster care. If you would like to come to Elkveiw, West Virginia to have a DNA test & meet them. That would be swell.
Me ; Yes! I'll be there as soon as i can! Thank you.

I hung up. I have kids..

'Jinxx! GUYS! FUCK! GET HERE NOW! I HAVE KIDS! I NEED TO GET TO ELKVIEW WEST VIRGINIA.'

They all ran down & started on the phone. We all got our bags packed & rushed out the door. We got on the first plane to Elkview. I had kids... The entire flight i couldn't stop thinking about it. What did they look like? Did they look like me? Did they look like Arianna? What were their names? I was pulled out of my thoughts.

'We're here, buddy.'

CC said. I nodded & got up. My nerves jumping. We went through security & checked into a hotel. I called the social worker, Lisa.

Me ; Lisa, we're here.
Lisa ; Come on down to the hospital, you can have your DNA test done. It'll take about 25-30 minutes to be processed then if you are indeed the father you will meet your kids & sign the paperwork. You'll then have custody. The processing will take a day though, so you need to stay in Elkview for a day.
Me ; Okay, i can handle that. I'm on my way.

I hung up.

'Jinxx wanna go?'

I asked, Jinxx nodded. We called a cab & were at the hospital in no time.

'Hello Mr. Pitts.'

A nurse said, swabing the inside of my cheek & putting it in a baggie.

'Wait here for 25-30 minutes.'

I nodded.

*25-30 minutes later*

Lisa walked in smiling.

'Theres some good news! The girls are yours!'

I smiled.

'Can i meet them?!'

I beamed with joy while i asked the question.

'Yes, come on out here.'

Lisa said. I walked out & there were two girls.

'Holy fuck.. You're Jake Pitts... & You're Jinxx...'

The oldest one said. I laughed.

'Fan?'

I asked.

'No, i'm not a fan. You're my heros. You guys have saved my life from me doing so many things...'

A tear escaped her eye.

'Shit. Jay. Come on baby. Wanna snack.?'

She asked the little girl.

'I'll take her. She's in good hands, i promise.'

Jinxx offered. The older girl nodded.

'What's your name sweetie & what's wrong? I know we just met & i know it'll be hard as hell to open up but i'm your father. Theres a DNA test to prove it. You have me, I won't let you guys be separtated. & I don't know what happened with your mom.. But i did care for her. She was my first high school girlfriend. 17 years ago... Makes sense. & i saw her about 7 years ago.. Makes sense for Jay...'

I stopped to let her talk.

'My names Adylen. My sisters full name is Jaydylen but we call her Jay when she's not in trouble. My mom had stage 4 terminal cancer... She was going to see where it spread to. But she never came home...'

She started to cry. I held her close like i knew her for years. I was going to take care of these kids. I was never going to let them go.
