There's a Fine Line Between Love and Hate
Chapter Five
[Jinxx]
The boys had gone to our band house while I went to my house that I owned with Sammi. I set down the adoption papers on the glass coffee table and sat down on our black leather couch. Our house wasn't to big nor to small, but just perfect for a three person family.
"Jinxxy, hun, I'm home!" I heard the familiar voice of my wife ring through the halls of our house. I shot up and ran to the front door. She dropped her bags and jumped into my arms. I missed the way her body fit into mine perfectly every time we hugged. She'd been on tour for 3 months and I missed her so much. I loosened my grip on her and then my lips crashed into hers. Another thing I missed.
"Baby, I love you so much, I missed you." I mumbled into her hair as I wrapped my arms around her again.
"Jinxxy..." She cooed softly into my ears.
"Oh I almost forgot!" I exclaimed as I pulled away, though my arms were still wrapped loosely around her waist. "I found the perfect girl. She's been in that orphanage since she was 1 1/2 and she is in band. She's the lead and her voice is so amazing!" I bragged to her about Raven. "Her name is Raven and I brought the papers home so you could sign them."
"Aw, honey I can't wait to meet her!" Sammi exclaimed as she hugged me. We pulled away at the same time and I said "The papers are on the coffee table. There's a picture of her too." We walked to the living room together and sat down on the couch. I picked up the papers and handed her the picture that was paper clipped to the documents. She smiled and said, "You know, she even looks like me a bit..." (A/N: Seriously go look at the picture I have for Raven and then a picture of Sammi Doll with red hair.) I smiled and said "I know. Beautiful." She looked at me and then pecked me on the nose. "Love you."
"Love you too."
We finished signing all the papers and then I said, "So, you know how I told you she was in a band?"
"Yeah."
"Well I thought maybe we could use the basement as I practice room for them. I mean I only have some old guitars down there and maybe she can have one."
"That's a great idea! We can get some stuff today and set it up for her as a surprise. It's only," She paused for a moment to look at her watch. "4:30. We can probably finish at like 9:00 if we get the guys, Juliet, Ella and Lauren to help."
"Perfect." And then we started making the calls.

"Jinxx hun, wake up. We need to go pick up Raven. I sat up and scratched my head. The thought of Raven instantly put a smile on my face. I got up and dressed in a black skinny jeans, a black v neck shirt and some black Chuck Taylors. Sammi came out of the bathroom looking as beautiful as ever, and next thing I knew, we were in the car going to pick up Raven.
Once we arrived at the orphanage it started snowing. Today was December 1st. Looking back on yesterday, why the hell was Raven wearing shorts? Oh well. Sammi and I walked inside together and Raven was looking warmer. She was standing with her band and they all had sad, yet happy looks on their face. I smiled at her and said "Hi sweetie. Ready to come home?"
"Yeah dad. Uh hi mom." She said sheepishly waving at Sammi.
"You are so cute!" Sammi said as she engulfed her in a hug.
"Ok how bout' me and the girls go get Raven's bags while her and Sammi get caught up a little." I said to everyone. They all agreed and we walked up to Raven's room.
"Hey, Cat and Lexi can you take care of the bags? I need to speak with Jinxx." They nodded like they knew what was going on and I stood there confused as ever. Blaze then pulled me aside and said, "Ok I know this is weird at the moment but I need to talk to you before you take Raven." I knew that Raven and Blaze were best friends by watching their actions, so I knew I could trust her.
"Ok shoot."
"Well, um, Raven has been through a lot in her life. I know you know that but there are some things that you don't. She started cutting when she was just 12 years old. I convinced her to stop once she turned 13 and now she's been clean for quite a while. Just make sure you check her wrists every once in a while kay? But please, please be discreet about it. She is VERY insecure about it and she will break down."
I nodded in understanding. "Oh and one more thing."
"Yes?"
"If you hurt her in any way, shape, or form, I will hunt you down personally and cut you into little pieces until you die." She said in a menacing tone, with no falter. I was fucking scared, so I nodded and then she walked away as if nothing happened. I sighed and walked into her music room. There was a guitar case that said 'Bulletproof Lovers' on it and 'Raven' On it there rested an old leather book. Her song book. I smiled to myself, glad that she shares the same interests and me and Sammi. I grabbed her stuff and walked down the stairs.
"Ready to go?" I asked. Raven nodded at me and then looked at her band. She gave them all hugs and said she would come back here at 4:00 tomorrow. They hugged back and all that. Afterwards we walked out to the car and out of the rear-veiw-mirror I saw Raven put on her white headphones and and smile softly while looking out the window.
Once we arrived home, we walked inside and I placed her bags in her room. She sat down on the couch and Sammi said, "Raven, sweetie, come over here we have something to show you!" Raven stood up and walked over to where me and Sammi were standing, in front of the stair case to the basement. I put my hands over her eyes and walked her down the stairs. As we reached to bottom I pulled my hands off her face and said "Open your eyes honey." Sammi then put her arm around Raven as her eyes fluttered open and then I saw tears spring out of her eyes.
