Andy’s Pov


The weekend came and went pretty fast. My highlight was the arrival of the camaro. I had so much fun it when dad brought it home. Uncle Andy and Jake begged for a ride in it. it was really funny. I recorded them begging and now hold it for black mail. Today was Monday meaning I had to start school. It also meant my mom died a week ago last night and I’ve been with dad for a week now. Currently, I was debating on what to wear. Nothing in my bag was appetizing. Sure, I had cute clothes but right now I was at a lost. Dad had been up before me to make breakfast and was already dressed. Hearing the door open I looked up to see him standing there, “still cant decide what to wear?” he asked. I nodded and he then went through my bag. Pulling out burgundy red skinny jeans, he laid it on the bed and hunted for a shirt. He found a shirt Sammi forced me to buy that read, “there’s nothing wrong with living young, wild and free.” And had galaxy print on the back. Once he had that, he handed me my boots. Thanking him he left so I could change.



Walking into the bathroom, I fixed my make up and hair. Once that was done, I headed into the kitchen and sat at the table. Dad put a bowl of fruit loops in front of me and said, “I made you a lunch. It’s a turkey sandwich. Your snacks are popcorn, fruit loops and an apple. For drinks you have smart water, and a can of coca cola.” Thanking him, I put my bag of food in my beloved galaxy print backpack. Jinxx ran up to me and said, “I hope you have a good day at school sissy. I love you.” I hugged her and then asked dad who was taking me. He pointed to the couch where a certain lead singer I know was sitting down with his headphones in playing with his phones and said, “I’m taking you, and he’s watching them.” I nodded and pulled out my phone and whispered, “Record this.” I then creeped over to where he was and then jumped on him. Andy jumped up and I fell to the floor. I rolled around on the floor and he sat on me and said, “I could tickle you now, Y’know?” I gave him a look and then he tried to. “We act more like brother and sister. Y’know. DAD your adopting Andy now!!!” thank goodness gracious my phone is in a super durable case because dad dropped it and said, “I’m who’s what now?” Andy joined my cause and said, “ Hi dad.” Jinxx and I were giggling when Andy said that.


Dad walked over and put his arm around Andy and said, “ You would want to be my kid? All right. That’s fine. You are now my eldest kid. Good for you LA you’re not the oldest now.” Jinxx was giggling and she ran to Andy and said, “yay! I have a big brother now. Hehe uncle CC will be jelly!” I hugged Andy and said, “dad, we should probably get going now.” Andy hugged me back and whispered, “Good luck little sis. Have a good day and remember to set the world on fire.” him and his damn song references are getting a little annoying. He mentions one almost every hour and they’re always BVB. Anyway, my heart swelled when he called me little sis. I tweeted the rest of the band and said, “I have news. You have now four brothers and one nephew. I claimed Andy as my brother. MUAHAHA feel the love?” then logged out of twitter and face book. Totally don’t want anyone getting a hold of my phone and then sending awful things from it. Dad grabbed the Camaro keys and we walked to the car.


On the way there we head banged to Pierce The Veil (my choice) and made horrible jokes that are just too awful to repeat. I got to school and waved bye to dad as I walked to first period. It felt like everyone’s eyes were on me, trying to figure out who I was and already start rumors of why I was there. By the time I got to the classroom, I heard that I was sent from another school in Texas for Vandalizing the Principal’s office and then kicking him in the balls. My personal favorite was that I escaped a mental institution that I was put in for killing my family and bathing in their blood. It reminded me a bit of Legion of the Black. Just a bit. I got to class and handed the teacher my schedule and he said, “take the seat next to Amber.” I nodded and went to the seat I was directed to. When class began, Amber said, “ewww. I’m sitting next to Emo freak! Someone switch seats with me!”


That hurt. Not going to lie. So pretty much the entire lesson I tried to focus on the actual learning for a change. Its like who are you and what have you done with Andrea Dawn? Second period went the same except I sat next to a guy named Sean. He was even meaner and wasn’t afraid to say what he felt. By third period, I wanted to go home more than ever. These people were meaner than the kids at my old school. I think it’s the LA stereotype. Everyone in drama ignored me and the teacher already hated me because I wasn’t an Abercrombie and Finch. Well this is going to be a shitty disaster. I got hit with balls in PE because we were playing kick ball, break I sat alone on a random bench, English was just as bad as the experience with Sean in Science. Lunch went the same as break I was alone. Well that was until a queen bitch tried to bother me. I ignored her, which didn’t sit well with her. She already had a problem with me and I haven’t said 1 word to her at all. “Listen here you Emo slut, you can’t walk into my school and think you own the place. You don’t. You are the dirt beneath my shoes. You will kiss the ground I walk on or your life will be hell. Got it? Oh and don’t where that ugly shirt again or those disgusting Emo bracelets.”


“Listen here Miss, you don’t know me therefore you cant judge me. AND who are YOU to tell ME what to wear? This is my style and my life so I’m going to do as I please. Your dismissed bitch.” She slapped me and stormed off. The quad went silent as she walked away then got loud as she disappeared. A guy with short black hair and plugs walked up to me and said, “That was awesome! So what’s your name kid? I’m Brandon.” “I’m Andrea Dawn but I go by Andy or Andy dawn. My Uncles call me LA. Pick your choice.” He laughed and said, “that’s right, your Ash’s kid. How did I forget that? I love your arguments with them. Oh and I read your tweet this morning: that was awesome! Not as awesome as you telling Rita off.” I laughed and said, “So that’s her name. What’s her deal?” he sighed and said, “she used to be really nice. Key word, used to. The older queen bitch pulled her in. She’s a junior but the ultimate queen is Monique who is a senior. They hate people like you and me.”

“Great. I’m not changing though. She can suck my dad’s dick for all I care. All though I think I would prefer he didn’t allow it, I mean I’m sure his dick deserves more of a playboy bunny then a high school tramp.” Brandon laughed and laughed and when he calmed down he said, “What’s your next class?” “Music.” I answered. “Alright, we have a class together. What you just said was perfect. We are going to be best friends. Oh by the way my full name is Drake Brandon swift. Yes Taylor swift is my cousin. I really don’t care. She hasn’t talked to me in like 3 years.” I laughed and said, “and girls don’t want to be your friend?” I replied. “I don’t tell them. So if one of them asks what your dad does, what are you going to say? My gang and me wont sell you out. You seem like a chill kid. I’m a sophomore this year by the way.” “Thanks, um I guess I would say my dad owns his own fashion line and is successful?” he nodded and said, “That will go well until they figure out its designed all awesome and not their style. Oh I can see their face of disappointment when they don’t like what they see. That would be on the list of things I’d pay to see.”


I laughed and said, “ Well, since you’re the only person who’s talked to me, I’m sure they wont even find out. Please tell me this though and be straight forward I don’t want fake people around. Are you here for me or because my dad is who he is?” he laughed and said, “Well, I was here for your dad- just kidding by the way. Your dad’s cool and all but I’m a CC boy. Yeah by the way, I may or may not be gay. Shh. Don’t let queen bitch know. Thanks and well, I saw your twitter and saw that you had an awesome sense of humor. I liked that and well when I saw you across the quad, I fan boyed for a moment and then calmed down long enough to walk over and talk to you.” I smiled and said, “thanks. By the way, your secret is safe with me. Oh and if you ever are looking for someone I know someone who is a lot like me but well Y’know?” he laughed and said, “OMG you and me are going to be best friends!”The bell rang so I threw my crap in my bag and then we walked to music after Brandon announced, “OFF TO MUSIC BITCHES. LETS CREATE SOME FUCKING GOOD BEATS!” we laughed and a teacher yelled out, “Language Drake! Language!” we walked away laughing. “That was Mr. Sedge. He’s pretty cool. He doesn’t yell at me because he knows I can’t help but curse. It’s something I do. He learned that the first week of freshman year.” as we walked to music, I couldn’t help but think how good this day got.




Ash’s Pov


After dropping LA off at school I drove home to Jinxx and the little ones. “ANDDDY MY SON! I have another favor for you!” I called out as I walked into the apartment. “What is it?” “I need to sign Jinxx up for Preschool so can you watch Eve and Kellin while I go do that. Sammi texted me the place just now.” he said, “fine but I think I should call dibs on a room at your house now that I am your child.” He said it with a perfect straight face too. Oh god I’m probably going to regret this but, “Fine, there’s a room on the top floor. Two actually and a giant loft space. One room is yours, much to your dismay, no sex and no smoking only rules. Juliet can spend the night or what ever but no sex please. If I cant then you cant.” He blushed and replied, “cool. So you should go sign little mystic up while I watch the wild ones.”



I nodded and then walked back out of the apartment with my keys in hand. The preschool place was near the new house so it wasn’t much of a drive from the house to the school. Nice! The lady behind the counter was helpful and got Jinxx all set up. She will start tomorrow and will be in Mrs. Gordon’s class. All she needs is a backpack, snack for snack time and a blanket and maybe stuffed animal for naptime. Going out, I got a new blanket for Jinxx. It was green and had swirls on it. I picked out a stuffed animal that was a puppy and then looked at backpacks. Target is an amazing place. I couldn’t decide on which one so I took a picture and asked Sammi which one. She told me the one with the Disney princesses on it. Grabbing it, I then went to the toy isle and grabbed a princess doll. She only has one doll and a dollhouse, which, she got when Sammi took her shopping. Now she has two dolls! Paying for my stuff I drove home and then surprised Jinxx. She loved it. Andy suggested that Kellin and Eve and him go to Sammi’s house and I spend the day with Jinxx. I thanked him and then asked Jinxx what she wanted to do. She said the zoo and then a movie. It was early to do both thankfully. LA started school at 8:10 and got out at 3:30 and it was now 9:15.



Jinxx got in her car seat that was in the equinox and we left. We listened to the sound track of Princess and the frog. She loved it so I put up with it. It wasn’t so bad but it wasn’t my thing. Oh well. You do things you don’t like for the people you love to make them happy. We spent a good two hours there before heading out to get lunch. Her favorite animal was the koala bear. I texted Sammi telling her that. I don’t know why but I have hope the woman can help when we furnish the new house soon. Which reminds me that I don’t have to renew my rent at the end of this house, which means we need to be out before the 5th of next month. Which means that I have like four days to move everything to the other house because Jinxx starts school tomorrow. Oh crap! We need to have a memorial service for Mckendrie too. I don’t remember if we’ve talked about what we want done for her. Getting her Ashes and taking them with us to the new house seemed like an okay idea. The movie we picked was Monsters Inc 2. It was cute I will admit.

When the movie finished, we walked around the mall until we left to go pick LA up. She got out at 3:30 it was now 3:28 so I texted her saying, “Jinxx and Me are in the Equinox out front. You’ll have to walk about half a block towards the stop sign. See you soon. :P” she sent back, “K. (:” Jinxx and me talked about the Zoo and the Movie for a while. The clock on the Dashboard said “3:36.” I sent her a message saying, “where r u?” she sent back, “be right there.” moments later she was getting into the car. “How was your day?” she said, “It was okay. I made a friend today during Lunch. Turns out we had Music together after lunch. It was fun. His name was Brandon.”

“Cool, cool. Did you learn anything?” I asked. “Other than the way I am is not who the queen bitch wants me to be. I learned stuff I guess. Wait I have an idea, what’s Andy doing?” she said. “He’s with Jinxx and has the kiddies.” She grinned and called him and put him on speaker.

“Hey big brother I love to much.”

“What do you want?”

“What, I can’t tell my brother I love him.”

He laughed and said, “ you can but it sounds like you want something. What is it?”

“Y’know how you, well never finished high school?”

“Yes, don’t remind me. I don’t regret leaving but I wish I did get at least a diploma.”

“Well, if you somehow got into my school, you could do that. You’re what 23?”

“Right now I’m actually 20. Someone hasn’t been listening to the right sources.”

“Wait what the Texas? What? When?”

“Well, my mom and dad-” “ I know that but I thought you were 23.?”

“I am kiddo. I’m just messing with ya.”

“Well you need to go to my school because I want my big brother to be awesome with me. I told the friend I made to day the most hilarious thing ever.”

“What was it?”

“So this girl told me that who I was is not who she wants to me to be so I told her off. I was telling my friend that I didn’t care and I said that she could suck my dad’s dick and I wouldn’t care. I then added All though I think I would prefer he didn’t allow it, I mean I’m sure his dick deserves more of a playboy bunny then a high school tramp.”

“You said what now?” I interrupted. Andy was cracking up.

“That was epic! Wait until I tell the guys.”

“Andrea Dawn, I thought that was a word on the list of words that cant be said. But that was a good line. You are my kid” I said as I looker at her and winked. She sighed and said, “I’m sorry.” Andy was still laughing. He chimed in, Andrea got in trouble, Andrea got in trouble!” “If you don’t stop Andrew, I will ground you. You may be 23 but if you have a room at my house you will respect my rules also.” LA giggled and whispered, “Mamma Jinxx forgot about the grounding.” We laughed and I said, “I’ll see what I can do. Stay here.” I got out and walked to the office and asked the secretary, “I have a question.” She nodded and I continued, “so my step son dropped out of high school when he was around 15 years old. He’s interested in coming back to school but the thing is he is 23. What can I do?” she thought for a moment and said, “ Well, if he has a clean record and is serious about school, he can returned. He’d have to be tested to see what grade level he would be at. What level did he drop out at?” “ Sophomore I believe.” She nodded and typed into her computer before replying, “Okay so he would be able to go here. I guess the school board made an exception a few years ago for something similar to this. Today was your daughter’s first day right?” I nodded. She continued, “alright so if your step son comes in tomorrow and signs the paper work since he is a legal adult, he can go here. You can’t do the paperwork because he is legally an adult.”


I thanked her and then left. “Your so lucky. Andy can come, he needs to fill out paperwork tomorrow but he can be a student. I guess its good we’re in between tours and press stuff.” she smiled and thanked me before we all listened to Jinxx’s CD she picked out. We went to Sammi Doll’s and went inside. When we told Andy that he could go to the same school he jumped up a down saying, “OMG! OMG! Thank you for finding out…Dad!” the guys looked at me like what the hell. I knew they saw twitter but I guess they thought we were kidding. “Uhhhh, so these two were hanging out this morning and she tells him that she sees him more as a brother than an uncle. So then she declares him her brother and that he is then forever on my son. Seriously.” CC laughed and said, “now I can boss Andy around even more!” “You may be older but I am taller.” He said. We all hung out and then I said, “ Oh good news guys, I got the house!” everyone who secretly knew looked surprised as the kids looked excited. Andy remembered the thing La said in the car and told everyone. Sammi was crying from laughter and CC was rolling on the floor while Jake held his stomach and Jinxx did a spit take (he was drinking water at the time) and then coughed.


CC loved it and then had to tweet about it. He mentioned it and then said, “ LA, your are a cool kid. Now that you are 2nd oldest, you are my Fav 2nd oldest Purdy kid.” Jake tweeted, “LA, you are his kid. No doubt about it. That was awesome though! And can I say…BURN!!!!!!!” Sammi tweeted, “I bet the bitch should need Aloe Vera now. Too bad Jake, CC and Andy own the factories because of you kid. I love it!” Jinxx wrote: “that was a good line. Good job with that.” Andy tweeted, “sis, that was incredible! Cant believe you said that about dad though. Who am I kidding its probably true though. Love your humor small child.” To which she replied, “I am not small nor a child. I’m 14 and I’m five feet like four now I think, I don’t know.” “Small one. I am the older wiser child now. You shall forever be small.” To which she said, “you may be older but I’m pretty sure I’m wiser. I mean I did come up with that line and well, you are a tall freak while I’m fun sized.”



“*King sized not freak sized beloved child of fathers.” He replied before sitting on her. “Get off me you “king sized” human. You’re crushing me with your ass. I’m like 100 and you’re like 12333 lbs. why do you always sit on me?” she sent back. He stuck his tongue out and replied, “I’m not 12333. I’m 140 lbs and you’re like 90 lbs. I sit on you because well, I CAN. AND THERE AINT NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT PRINCESS. :P” she managed to flip him off of her and pin him down and say, “who’s the princess now?” she got off and walked around the house saying, “like a boss.” Over an over again. “Well Mrs. Like a boss, do you have homework?” she grunted as she face planted into the couch next to Jake and then listed off, “I have Bio, Math, English, Music, Drama.” Jake rubbed her back and said, “Well, we’re all good at music so take your pick. Andy would be good at Drama and English and so am I. CC is surprisingly good at math. Jinxx is good at Bio and Ash is good in Art and PE stuff.” CC said, “I’m good at math because I have the drums and when MR. BIERSACK over their likes to write songs with fast beats and lots of beats, counting and memorization are key.”



“Noted.” She replied. “So what do you wanna do first? Did you get your books?” I asked. Moments later my phone went off and CC tweeted, “look at Ash being all parent-y and stuff.” and then there was a picture of me sitting here. I replied, “thank you for interrupting me.” “Yes I got my books. They’re in my bag, which is in the car. Shall my trusty steed by the name of Andrew carry me to retrieve it?” he raised an eye brow, she shrugged and said, “why walk when someone else can do it for you.” he said, “or how about I just go get it.” and then walked out. He returned with her bag and put it in front of her. She thanked him and then got her math book out. CC sat next to her and then helped her where she needed it. She was actually really good at it. Next was Bio. Jinxx took CC’s place and helped her with what she needed help on. Andy helped with Drama. She was a damn good actress that was for sure. English was next. She struggled more with that then anything. When he pointed something out she replied, “English isn’t my first language okay?” we all looked at her and she smirked and said, “sarcasm was my first. Okay though but seriously I learned French first then English.”


I told her in French, “my sweet daughter, how funny you are. Lets give them something to talk about.” She replied, “I like the way you think Father of mine.” “Okay how much would a wood chuck, chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?” she replied, “I don’t know. A lot?” I nodded. She said, “ I also know a bit of Irish do you?” I nodded and she said, “Po ma Thoin.” Which translates after the accent is added to kiss my ass. Yep. I shook my head and said in Russian: “no.” she replied, “what. Now we are just having fun. Lets go out with a bang. I love you.” I nodded slightly and said, “You listen child. You don’t speak that way. Eeep I don’t know what to say but I’m not really angry, remember that.” she dramatically stood up and ran out of the room and called out, “BASTARD.” In Russian. As soon as she was gone the guys gave me a look of what the hell, explain. And then seconds later a video on twitter was posted of us talking. I told the guys, “we spoke French then Irish and then Russian. I’ve known since high school. Mckendrie wanted to learn it so I took the classes with her. When she left I quit the course.”



People were commenting on what we said and were laughing. The guys read it and then said, “you weren’t arguing?” I laughed and said, “nope. It was more or so Drama practice.” She returned and then took a bow. The guys clapped and said, “bravo!” she then sat down to finish all of the rest of her homework and Sammi made dinner. We all ate and then parted ways. Kellin seemed bigger today. Like he’s growing. Same with Eve, she seems a tiny bit taller. LA also mentioned she has yet to say her first words yet. I wonder what they will be. I was pulled out of my thoughts by LA who was checking her backpack for her homework. “Since the apartment will be crazy for a few days because I will pack everything up, do you wanna stay here and have your own bed? I can take these three for the night. I mean if you want too. And I’ll drive over first thing in the morning and take you both to school.” She thought and said, “if it’s okay with Jinxx. We can also take the other kids and let you have a break.” “Are you sure?” I asked her. Jinxx said, “Daddy we’ll be fine with Uncle and Auntie.” I smiled and hugged her. I said night to everyone and then left.


The drive back was silent and it was odd. For the first time in a week, I was alone. Truly alone. I didn’t have Mckendrie anymore. At least before, I knew she was alive and that she must’ve been doing okay where ever she was but now, now she’s dead and I’m raising our 4 kids. I often wonder what it would be like if I knew about each kid a lot sooner then now. Would I be who I am now or would I be a different person. The feeling in my chest tightened and I began to cry. I let it all out. I didn’t have to be strong for anyone. Walking into the apartment, I found a picture of Mckendrie and held it close. My thoughts were at war. Part of me wanted one thing while the bigger part wanted another. My thoughts began to take a toll. It felt like my mind broke the spirit of my soul. The smaller part of me wanted to throw a way my 7 years of being clean and the bigger part wanted to be clean longer but I was fighting a losing war. It felt like I needed a blade to feel better. I tried to convince my self I didn’t need it that I would be upsetting everyone and that I was doing what I said I didn’t understand. I had history with self-harm. When I said I didn’t understand it, I knew it completely.



The smell of blood was great. It was only then I realized what I’ve done. Fuck. Shit, shit shit. There went 7 years down the drain. I cleaned up my thigh and wrapped it up and put sweat pants on. Flopping on the bed, I set my alarm to wake me up and then cried my self to sleep,
