CC’s POV



It had been a few months since Ash’s surgery. Five to be exact. In those five months, it marked the anniversary of Mckendrie’s death, and when Ash got the kids a year ago. It was a bittersweet day that was highly emotional. Ash ended up taking the kids to the beach where not a lot of people were. They all shared memories of Mckendrie laughed and remembered the old times. It helped them all. The following days were rough but they all got through it. Andy, who had been barely eating five months prior, was now working his way to a healthy weight and was doing very well and had been seeing a therapist about his depression. Jinxx got a divorce and took some time to find himself, and once he did. He came back even stronger mentally than before. Jake’s mom passed away and it was quite rough on him but with the support of the band and his family, he made it through it. Me? I continued to talk to the girl that I met at the hospital. She was kind and everything I could ever dream of. Sadly, while I was away she passed. It was tough but I made it through it. While she was alive, we had become good friends and I hoped to become her boyfriend, but it didn’t work out that way.

Ash, out of all of us is doing the best. The anniversary of Mckendrie’s death was hard and recovering from the surgery was difficult but he managed. His back was still causing him pain at times and his repression was still around, however his anxiety got better and no longer need to take pills for it. At times he had to use the wheelchair, when the pain got to be too much but for the most part he was moving around. Being at a healthy weight was also something he was doing well in, it took a long time but he recovered from his disorder. We were all very proud of him.

As a whole, our makeshift family was doing well. We were all at peace with the events of the last year (the car accident, LA’s suicide attempt, etc.) and we were working on a new album. The drums had already been tracked, as well as the guitars and vocals. It took Ashley a bit more time but he’s gotten it done. The fans have been very supportive of us and we couldn’t have been more grateful. We’ve also won a few awards and did as much as we could to give back to the fans.

Andy Dawn also started school recently and is now a sophomore. Jinxx is a kindergartner and Eve is still a year too young to go to preschool. Kellin is now a year old and very cute. He looks like Mckendrie more than all the other kids. Andy Dawn’s band is also doing well. They’ve recorded a few songs together and put out an EP and are working on writing for an album. They’ve also played a few local shows but nothing too big yet. They also have a small fan base of about a 100 fans at he moment. We’ve all told her that we wouldn’t flat out go say to buy her band’s stuff, but we have helped her with stuff, like merch and CDs.

She wanted to do it like the old days where you stood on street corners telling people to listen to your music. It's been semi-successful. I’m proud of her. She’s overcome so much and came so far. The several obstacles that she has gone through, she has made it out stronger. Her birthday was a few days ago, she turned 15. I think all of us were proud of her, Ash of course the most.He loves her so much, as well as the other kids.

I won’t lie, there are times that are hard, but I know that our makeshift family can make it through it all.
